One day in the future, Freudian and Jungian hypotheses will be woven together when the best of both these genius's works have been reduced to the most purposeful for use in psychoanalysis. I am primarily a Freudian, yet Jung's magic allowed me the full resolution of my analysis. If only the psychoanalysts could put aside their competitive natures and allow their clients to show them the way. So much is not spoken, but is experiential, in discovering the answers to healing one's soul.
It is brilliant. Our problem is terminology. Words help us and hinder us. We are finding terms that ranscend disciplines, schools of thought, religions. This interview begins and ends w that. Play is good, pleasure is good, satisfaction is good. That optimal condition i call joy. I was a lifelong multi-disciplinary scholar and poly-artist. So maybe "Girls just wanna have fun." But women want more than that. To them "fun" doesn't name it well enough. I prefer "joy." One step further still, i call "Love" w/a capital L. Forgive me, I don't call myself a Christian anymore, but i know well that terminology, scripture, theology, etc., so ... Jesus is said to have said he came to bring "life more abundant." Hillel said, "Love God and Man." Paul taught about "that still, small voice" and "peace beyond understanding." I think Love is the best word for God. But i resist churchy lingo for many reasons. The poet in me has to find new words always. My favorite art form is song, which is obviously multi- disciplinary. I am also optimistic, encouraged in this golden age of interconnectivity. So i will forward this video to anyone who can grock. And i will buy his book for myself and two psychologist buddies. Thank you both for this wonderful production.
