Imagine spending 20 minutes of your day playing with a comb for the sole purpose of, somehow, helping people to relax... and half the comments are people telling you whether or not it helped their cat gag.
Those talking about their cats- I read that this usually only works on outdoor cats or cats who used to live outdoors. It mimics the sound of grasshoppers/other buzzing bugs that the outdoor cats may catch and try to eat, but they taste bad to the cat and they gag. I think it becomes a kind of reflex/pavlov effect?
Control and relevant mindset. You were open to hearing the sounds in a relaxing way, and also you know that you can stop the video whenever you want. You could give your sister a comb and direct her to do it, then it might not annoy you if you felt in control enough.
