    As he was describing the bluejay as the Rihanna of birds, I thought, "If he can teach me a bird call that quickly, easily and unforgettably he should be a teacher!" So glad NatGeo gave him a platform. I'm gonna check it out!

    Also a Star Trek fan, but I did notice that Mr. Cooper kept his calm on the video, during an incident that might have ended at a very bad place. It is a rare talent to be able to turn around from a dark incident. Will definitely check out the TV series, and the book.

      @@dolleyes5062 Christian said that he would lure her dog away with treats and then do whatever he wanted to her.
      She was alone in the woods with him and he was making threats like that while trying to lure her dog away.
      Christian Cooper is a predator and a horrible human being.
      He plays innocent, but he has been isolating and harassing WOMEN specifically, in that park for about a decade.

      @@OpinionParade I totally disagree. First of all, if Christ was REALLY threatening Amy, then he wouldn't have left the part about offering her dog treats in the video. Second, while there was a story about him having a similar encounter with male park goers, they decided not to make a big deal of it because compared to Amy's response, it wasn't a big deal. BTW, there's no record of him harassing other women.
      Amy knew exactly what she was doing and whom she was doing it to. Christian may have made some small mistakes, but Amy's response made matters worse.

    No one mentions in that incident that woman is insanely choking her dog over and over, what the hell is wrong with her?! She's accusing an innocent man, plus she is hurting her dog, and her dog is repeatedly asking to stop hurting him. The whole thing makes me sick at how she is so unconscious on both counts. Did anything happen to her? Did she have to face charges because she is accusing a perfectly innocent person and plus she hurt her dog. I hope her dog is okay....and obviously, Mr. Cooper is doing beautifully and has such a wonderful vibe about him, and how passionate he is about birding. Maybe he can get more people outside and experience the miracles of nature, and see amazing birds....we need more people to connect with nature because we are losing our planet, so more people care about planet earth, more people help planet earth.

    I remember this very well and it was appalling to watch the video then as it is now. Racism continues to be alive and well. And yes, evil does walk the earth. At the same time I am thrilled that Christian, out of a hideous set of circumstances, is living a great life in spite of what occurred. As a north shore of Long Island native, my mother was a huge bird watcher (3 sets of binoculars at the ready in the kitchen. Seriously!) and I know a ton of birds by sight and their calls -- none of which was appreciated when I was a teenager. However, last Wednesday morning, I saw two (not one but two !) robins hopping around in the courtyard where I work.
    A sure sign of Spring and perhaps a quiet nod from my mother who has moved into the beyond.

      I have a similar relationship with my Dad and Sandhill Cranes. Dad remembered them from his childhood, then they disappeared from Wisconsin in the 1930's from overhunting. An organization called the International Crane Foundation started conservation and re-introduction efforts in the 70's and both parents were supporters from the beginning. The last time I was with Dad before he passed away he wanted to go driving to see if the cranes had returned from down south yet (1996 so the reintroduction had been somewhat successful in the 20+ years). We saw some and pulled over so we could watch them dance. He commented that he never thought his kids would see what he remembered from his childhood. Any time I see a crane I think of Dad. I was looking to buy a home and was outside one when I heard some cranes bugling a few blocks away. Dad was telling me it was my new home.

    The woman had a leash, so obviously brought the dog on it to that area where no one was, then let him run free for a little exercise. Cooper walks up and instead of accessing the situation and moving on, has to say something. She couldn’t just say sorry and re-leash the dog. And then it escalated into stupidity on both their parts. People today just can’t be considerate.

      When I first saw this I thought that Christian was very aggressive - why didn't he just ask her to please put her dog on a leash instead of walking up and recording her immediately and using a harsh tone of voice in asking her to put it on a lease? If I had been that young woman in the park where they were all alone, I might have been afraid too.

      @@adelasussman3838 - If you live in the city, I can't see why you have a dog in the first place. It's stuck in an apartment, always on a leash, and can't run around. People on this thread are saying she abused the dog. Quite to the contrary, I think she is a better owner than most. Sure, she broke the leash law, but to benefit the dog, and in a place where it was no threat to anyone. However, in my opinion, anyone who keeps a dog in the city, without a yard to run around in, is abusing that animal.

    It was barely dawn. He advanced on her to admonish her on her loose leashed dog. Then he gave her dog something he claimed were dog treats. At that, she called the NYPD. Yet she got pasted as a racist for being scared of this guy. Hope that CBS News Sunday Morning invites her as a guest. Ideally, both Coopers should have been invited.

    • @dolleyes5062
      @dolleyes5062 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, she shouldn't have been invited. Instead of obeying the park's rule to leash her dog, Amy Cooper chose to play both the "race" card and the "victim" card, both of which backfired on her, as they should. She weaponized her tears against an innocent Black man, endangering his life-and her dog's life-in the process, which has happened so many times to other innocent Black men, the late Emmett Till, the Black boy who was murdered by White men just for whistling at a White woman, being a prime example.
      Christian Cooper was invited on the show because he didn't let someone else's ignorance define him nor stop him and he's successful because of it; Amy Cooper is STILL playing the so-called "victim," not taking any real responsibility for her own actions. Amy Cooper's life sucks because of HER choices, not his.

    • @dolleyes5062
      @dolleyes5062 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Take 2:
      I totally disagree. Instead of just following the rule and putting her dog on a leash, Amy Cooper overreacted & chose to weaponize her tears, endangering Christian Cooper's life in the process.
      Instead of learning from her mistakes and getting her own life together, Amy Cooper insists on playing the "victim" when she's not. I've watched "CBS Sunday Morning" for years and the main criteria for being a guest is being and doing something positive. Christian Cooper has a book,a TV show and has turned his life around; Amy Cooper has neither. He's earned & deserves all of his success; Amy Cooper is the opposite & unless she gets over herself, she always will be.

      @@dolleyes5062 I am a livelong New Yorker who understands the reality of living in the city. Amy had every reason to be fearful. Here are some uncomfortable truths from the NYC police department stats for 2023. 95.8 percent of robbery suspects arrested in 2022 New York City were non-white (62.5 percent black).
      90.7 percent of rape suspects arrested in 2022 New York City were non-white (46.2 percent black).
      97.8 percent of shooting suspects arrested in 2022 New York City were non-white (65.6 percent black).
      Bear in mind NYC in 2020 was 30.9% White (non-Hispanic), 28.7% Hispanic or Latino, 20.2% Black or African American (non-Hispanic), 15.6% Asian, and 0.2% Native American (non-Hispanic). A total of 3.4% of the non-Hispanic population identified with more than one race. This means blacks are wildly over represented in crime stats by their actions. Amy should have been frightened when approached by any man while she was alone in Central Park, Here is a link to the TH-cam interview with Amy Cooper. If you listen to this podcast and still see Amy as a villain and that Christian has no culpability in this drama you are dishonest and warrant no further attention form me. Cheers.

    If this guy is such a wonderful genius, he would have understood that the woman with the dog, in the park, has mental issues. He continued to film her, while watching her drag her dog around by the neck. She did that to exaggerate your point about, putting the dog on the leash. He saw an opportunity to film a Karen, who escalated things immediately. Once she made it a racial thing, he knew he had a viral video.
    So, what was his plan? Show a video of a woman in the park with her dog off leash, to the police? Seriously? What would they have done? I call BS on this guy. Yes the woman was wrong on many levels. However, in the long run , he helped no one but himself. He's a bird watcher...Who Cares?!
