Hey Sam! If you know anyone with an audio ripper, get tem to take one of your favourite songs so you hear only the guitar. From there, you can try to match it with what you already have. One more thing: try adjusting by using the middle poition and turning the tone knob a little at a time. You may already have the tone you wnt. It's just hidden in the adjustments.
good video. With the high gain - metal - you may want to use a noise gate pedal. That will kill the hum when you are not playing. But there are trade offs as it may kill your sustain. The thing to realize is that the hum is not audible when you are playing the guitar. The hum is the raised noise floor.
