The Spanish couple is really showing how their people are with that mindset and mentality. It’s like they exaggerate stuff, like poverty, to make themselves feel better and over the thai people. In Spain, people are barely getting by, and a lot of them are heading to other countries in Europe or the U.S. for better opportunities. Unemployment is super high in Spain, but they still act like they’re better than everyone else, even though their economy’s on the brink of collapsing.

Completely agree.. as an English lad growing up going to Spain on holiday, the way I’ve seen Spain decline over the years is unbelievable.. the people there aren’t half as friendly as the Thai people in my opinion.. this Spanish couple have obviously tried Thailand and clearly didn’t like it with the comments they made. I’m just hoping they don’t go back because I don’t particularly like hypocrites.

@EB-jf5oi Spain is beautiful. I've been there first hand. Tourist area was fine, but off the beaten path, they were rude and obnoxious. Recently that had protests in tourists area telling visitors how much they were despised. Squirting spray bottles in people's faces while they sat outside and eat with "Yankee go home" signs. I won't be going back even though they are begging for tourists now. Flights from LAX to Barcelona are now being sold for 239 dollars.

A bad, narcisistic man doensn't need to go to bar to pay for girls, he know how to manipulate them organically. So this rethoric against man who go to Pattaya or Nanaplaza as "bad people" is nauseating. If they respect law and people they are not "bad people", they may just be "weak".

I'm with James in regards to tourists. Respect for Thai's and the culture is not represented well by some who visit. I was recently in Pai where tourists treat it like an amusement park. No shirts, riding bikes in bikini's, drunken dramas, yelling at local vendors and general loose behavior. I have spent too much time in Thailand, I couldn't ignore it and I will never go back there.

The young backpackers are worse than the old guy's in a bar. At least in the bar everybody is willingly doing what they are doing. An 18 year old drunk farang driving a motorbike hitting a Thai is far worse. And walking around asking Thai girls in the mall or supermarket 'how much' is also far worse. When I come to Thailand I stay away from old farang, young backpackers and last but not least the fitness/yoga/crossfit/meditation crowd. brrr.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Spain and Thailand are both amazing countries in their own right. The Spanish couple just got to Thailand and there is obviously going to be culture shock. You are taking it as if the Spanish couple is shitting on Thailand which I don’t think they are, they are expressing their opinion honestly which should be appreciated. Obviously a lot of people love Thailand (including myself) but Thailand isn’t for everyone.
Being poor doesn’t mean a person is any less even though the vast majority of world values wealth and material worth over character and other intangible aspects of what makes a good society.

Thai people did not mistreat the Indian man because of his dark skin, but rather, because he was Indian. Indian tourists are loud, obnoxious, rude and cheap when they are in Thailand. Unfortunately, this has caused a hatred towards them.

    • @philipdupont2308
      @philipdupont2308 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

The Indian gentleman is right in his statements. In Cambodia you get overcharged everywhere as a tourist and in Vietnam you need to negotiate for everything, even every day stuff. Nothing is priced and if you're in a smaller city you can't find any western product. One time it took me hours to find a deo from AXE or Nivea. And I ended up with a fake product that burned my skin. I do like Vietnam more than Thailand, but you need to be prepared to say goodbye to your western habits and needs. But there is a big but. The major cities in Vietnam have more to offer than Bangkok imo. They don't close at midnight like most places in Thailand and there is an abundance of upscale restaurants that are on a different level than the ones in Bangkok. And the Vietnamese people are just lovely. Just observing them gives me a smile.

Some Thai people don't care and will blast their music at just about any hour. Now what to like #1 people no ones perfect but we live and believe similarly so easy transition. Weather in Pattaya, cost of living, what others believe is chaotic is actually organized chaos on the roads. In season it never gets boring. Food. True Freedom, there is a lot of latitude with when and what laws are enforced.
I have read some say they don't feel accepted by Thais. I've received many gift baskets with the bottles for good health from Thais.

Spanish couple stating their opinion honestly, they have their own set of standards and perspectives. It’s their first time in Thailand and probably in Asia, there’s obviously going to be things lost in translation and culture shocks. I don’t think they were trashing Thailand, they aren’t going to know Thailand’s economy, GDP and its industries.
There’s a reason why Thailand is the most visited country but at the same time, Thailand has its flaws and downsides as with Spain and every other country. I guarantee you that if the couple got to know the nuances and all of Thailand’s hidden gems outside of the common tourist traps, it will be a totally different experience.
Thailand is rapidly developing but what makes Thailand amazing isn’t the GDP, it’s the people and culture. That says a lot considering how hot and humid Thailand is along with all of pollution and other downsides that Thailand currently has (it doesn’t mean it’s not going to improve). There’s a lot to love about Thailand but it does have legitimate problems such as traffic and pollution but I think those are things you can fix and improve over time.

She got benefit of cheap and good enough cost of living but blames restaurants, popular street food shops, bidet sprayer, etc while she never saw numbers of tourists gone up and up to world top rank with repeated trips. i broke up soon bcz annoyed and dont want to tolerate her anymore.

Dislike the strong Baht !!! Tourism is only 15% of the Thai GDP anymore. This was twice as high in the past. The Kingdom is becoming stronger and stronger economically and its currency the Baht!!! . Cars, Motorcycles, aircons, mashines, jewerly, rice, poultry, mangos, coconut, sugar cane exported to so many countries. I hope it's not getting too strong in the near future.

I agree, also thai can be, i saw many times them being bad with each other. They are very classist too, i saw some rich people acting in a VERY arrogant way in 5 stars hotel. I read people claiming that thai have "better manners" than western people but i find this highly debatable. Is not Japan.
They didn't care about "losing face" when they try to overcharge/scam foreigner customers in a obvious way and not apologizing after being caught. Happened to me in various ocasions. I love a lot this country but is far from perfect.

What I dislike the most about Thailand is motorbike culture. Driving between cars, driving on the sidewalks, running red lights. I can put up with most anything else because if I'm not in my own country, I have to ignore things like carrying a baby and 3 adults on a motorcycle. I do not like almost getting hit by motorcycles when in cross walks or when I have the green light and when motorcycles almost hit children.

Come here for 15 years :
    negatives :
    1. tourists or other who do not walk on the street even when there is a sidewalk.
    2. tourists or other who when walkin' the street , do walk with the traffic flow instead of against the traffic . Against the traffic is logic because you see what is commin' and less likely that you bump onto a motorcycle or get robbed . And those walking with the traffic flow do force you to step further into the street .
    3. tourists that do not show respect towards Thai . Most with respect are Koreans and Japanese.
    4. no respect for traffic rules : goes for foreigners and Thai
    5. the non existent rule of : biggest car first , little car second , motorbike can do anything , bicycle third , pedestrian f*you.
    6. expats that sit all day in bars doin' nothing
    7. the differences in entry prices farang vs thai.
    8. tourists that do not adapt or neither did any effort to look up the basic info on what is normal here , what is not legal etc...
    9. not being able to make an appointment in the bank and waiting sometimes for 3 hours for nothing.
    10. annoying vendors of Armani suits
    The good :
    1. the food
    2. the Thai way
    3. the climate
    4. the Buddha experience instead of ltd. or straightjaquet religions
    5. the people
    6. the culture
    7. nature
    8. the respect towards elderly
    9. family first
    10. did I mention food
