These three might not be everyone's favourite, but they rise to the occasion here. I wish all political discourse was as civil, insightful and intellectually playful as like this.

The level of online hate that Diane receives is so unfounded, there are mps that are more left wing or have made far more gaffes. One can disagree with someone without spewing vitriol.

Starmer won because right wing parties were divided and a soft pact between the 2 main progressive parties worked well. 34% of the vote was astonishingly low for Labour. I'd expected 44%.

Interesting that Diane Abbott is in "eff it, gloves off" mode now, I've been enjoying the recent interviews where she's blunt about Starmer. Including calling him Starmer not Kier! And criticising him like he's the opposition, not her party leader. Yes, he's got no empathy and isn't very good when people are judging him. I'm convinced he is severely regretting becoming PM.

I think, Diannne, the problem is that a growing chunk of voters have already walked away. Within my own close circle, of a couple of dozen…..only 2 regularly watch or listen to main stream news broadcasts. About 8 never engage with the news at all. None read a newspaper.
Thus they are prime for snippet news ‘shorts’. The slimmest majority do vote, but tribally, and pre any election they would not have sought out a party manifesto, and the last time, against the conservatives father than for any other party.
This is no longer the party support system of Dianne and my youth, but I think both major parties are kidding themselves it is.

They mentioned "family" in metaphorical skew to political party. I come from a "family" of psychopaths, sociopaths, psychotics (like Ollah Topf, who owned a giant house & property called Orchard Acres, and engaged in conversations with entities in her back yard). My mother was a narcissistic sociopath with Schadenfreude who tortured me psychologically. I was an empath. The new party cannot compete. I love cats. This allows you to know which no. 10 character I admire is Larry, Chief fox-chaser. I hope you keep your party even if you choose new leaders. I used to listen to BBC 4 in Kowloon.

You need to look at the USA, where people become bankrupt or lose their homes to pay for medical treatment. It is simply cruel that someone will vote for a party which will only support the wealthy. The USA is a country of landlords. The less wealthy will never be able to buy their own home. They will be saddled with debt their entire lives.

Starmer is an omnishambles but thank god the conversation was wider than the usual pile on - he will make or break in next 6mths, probably break if there's a recession caused by continuing higher interest rates. It is sadly too late for the UK as the running costs are financed by unsustainable tax rises and public debt. Smart employable Brits will gravitate to higher opportunity economies and tax havens. Those left will get whatever they're given.

Diane, if you are reading this i'm speaking as a person of Caribbean heritage in the UK.
You are auntie Diane. You are loved, deeply. You are an inspiration. Ypu spent a lifetime truly showing up and never selling out your people. Not once. Your stance hindered your career advancement many times, until Corbyn gained power in the party and allowed your obvious talents to rise to the place you deserved to be, on the front bench.
You, because you are a black woman have been maligned denigrated picked on, suffered hideous abuse and the most egregious thing to me, were called stupid. Despite your being educated in this country's highest seat of study despite the obstacles, despite your innate sensr of moral direction. All of these slights unserestimations and character assassinations were laid at your feet because you refused to sell US out. You were and are unapologetically BLACK. You chose to stand with and by your people. That is why when Starmer tried his best to kick you out and it came to a head ad the election loomed, him believing he could quietly end your career, your people stood by you and refuaed to let that happe . NOT on pur watch. What you deserved at this stage of your carrer was a l ast hurrah, to be Mother of the House, given respect, allowed to make more parliamentary interventions and as the next election and you, I hope, stand down, ypu deaerved yo be in that chamber giving a speech that reflects your dignity and hard work before you are cheered on to the end. A celebration of your advancement of our people. Then trying to shove you out quietly when they thought noone was looking, because theyd ignored you all year was a disgrace of the biggest order and was the nail in the coffin regarding what I think of Starmer.
I say last hurrah because Diane. You have done ENOUGH for us. You need not suffer any more. You have health issues, and are happily past retirement age . We can't expect any more from you. What ai and our people really want is for you to skip off into the sunset, put your feet up, do the occasional rounds as a pundit as the wise elder you are, and to get your behind some regular sun backa yard! What we do not want is for you to keep going until you collapse. Do not give these people and this country every last shred of you. Remember, you have done us proud.no matter what certain demographics have to say about you, you know and we know your importance, your relevance and the ceilings you smashed to make it easier for the Dawns and Osamars of the world to come in and be BLACK.
Aauntie Dianez we salute you. And we are here to defend and cherish you against any and all. This might all sound a bit sentimental but every word is meant. The importance of seeing ourselves reflected in parliament is incalculable. The biggest pity is the void you will leave when the time comes because Labour hace done close to zero to engage with and promote our people. There is no real replacement. Who knows, maybe I should try. Youve done it; we can do it. I truly fear for this country as Starmer prives to be an ineffective oaf who lets be clear and honest, cares zilch for black and brown people and is paving rhe way for Reform to take over. Its like he wants it to happen.
What we really need is someone like Burnham to takr the reigns. Tell him to get his seat back and wrestle whats left of the Labour party from the fake politician Starmer.
    Anyway god bless Diane!!
