Shortly after this song was released, I was deadheading back from dropping a group at BWI. As I came out of the Harbor Tunnel, I hit stop & go traffic and I think I scared the couple in the pickup next to me. This song had just started up so I naturally cranked the volume button up as far as it would go. And then I did what my family calls "The Seat Dance". None of the windows broke in the bus, they were sure vibrating. That's when I looked to my left and the expression on the couples face was priceless!! Thank you Toby for all that you did, especially when no one had a camera on you.
Toby Keith was the most patriotic entertainer there will ever be. We will miss him and love him always. R.I.P Toby Keith, you will never be forgotten!😢
Awesome job on singing that I love all veterans who sacrificed their lives for us and I show respect for all that came back God has special preposes for all my family was in ww1 until Kuwait God bless all that respect this country and the veterans ❤❤❤
I'm really glad they ended the night with "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American) for the Toby Keith Tribute Show because it's one of the most historical songs in Country Music history. Why, you might ask? Because Toby Keith debuted it at ACM 37 in May of 2002 which was eight months after the events of September 11th and nearly a year after his dad passed away (both being why Toby Keith wrote the song). The song itself is what led to the ugliest feud in Country Music history between him and the Dixie Chicks when, in that following August, Natalie Maines called it ignorant and jingle-istic saying "anybody can write a song like Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" to which Toby Keith slammed Maines by saying "he's a songwriter and she's not". A lot of people misremember that feud happening because of the London Show the following March in 2003 when the Dixie Chicks were ashamed that the President of the United States was from Texas as the US was going to war with Iraq. But it was actually said London Show where things between two sides got worse because when everyone was cancelling the Dixie Chicks for the comments made, Toby Keith performed at an anti-Dixie Chicks rally with a photoshopped image of Natalie Maines standing next to Saddam Hussein. And how did the Chicks respond? At ACM 38 in May of 2003, one year after "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" debut, and where the Chicks got booed all night including when they were announced as nominees for Entertainer of the Year, Natalie Maines wore a t-shirt that read "F-U-T-K". I know it was long, but my point is, Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American) had to be played on that special due to historical importance and aftermath of it. No matter if you believe it was the greatest thing since sliced bread or if it was the most ignorant thing ever created, it was a snapshot of where Americans stood in the early post-9/11 era.
@@tiffanyrm29They fixed the sound in the TV version. He sang it correctly, the mic just cut out. It does it several other times to various extents other than the extreme one at the beginning
@lukeickes5351 it's been months now since it was on tv, so I really don't remember what happened then lol. Looking at my own comments, I confuse myself lol. I'm just guessing that this particular video was made with a cellphone bc of how it zooms in & out so quickly & focuses mainly on the screen bc actual closeups of the stage aren't possible. People that would be in charge of recording it for the airing would be using an actual camera & be more skilled doing it. If this is the case, then yeah, it's a live version. I noticed that he did stop singing for a few seconds, which seemed to be like he wanted to hear the crowd singing it, then came back in. It's still a good video. This is one of those times tho, that I wished vcrs still existed so I could've recorded it when it was on tv & not hafta rely on TH-cam lol.
Parker did great. But he used the crowds enthusiasm and let them sing. I think he knew we all needed this as much as they did.. it will NEVER be Toby and anyone knows that. But it's all about the emotion.
Fine voice but his version of this song blows. He turned an a-kickin, fist-pumpin song into a tofu-flavored ballad. Puke. Statue of Liberty is shaking her fist at this mighty sucker punch of a performance.
He actually has a beautiful voice. He can sing without any gimmicks. He can sing acapella beautifully. The sound system sucked. Go listen to Parker McCollum. You will not be disappointed.

PARKER BLOWED IT OUT OF THE WATER!!!!

Watch Oklahoma Sooner fans sing this
That was awesome to see!
This is unedited version. Different than the version shown on the special.
I believe you mean it's the edited version. It's not got lyrics in it that it had on tv.
@@tiffanyrm29This was the original version recorded live July 29th. What was shown on tv was fixed/recorded after this.

Yes. That part was great and much needed. They could have just filmed the crowd singing all night and it would have been great too.
❤️🤍💙
He never screwed up his words
Hey y'all think if Toby could tell you right now for the sake of our country vote Trump 2024. Just saying
I don't think he would tell anyone to vote for Trump😂
Oh Fuck yes he would and he would care about your little feelings either

After all he's the only one who stepped up to play the concert for Trump after Garth declined and performed for Biden.

Why wasn't Toby's band there?
they probably have disbanded( not surprising with Toby gone)
@@cindyk.6462 I never thought about that.
That would have made it more loving
Figures they'd split after losing Toby
Right but you don't know either unless you know him
Wow, how disappointing. Pitchy, thin. There are some great voices out there who can match Toby Keith. This wasnt one of them.
Good job honey but not as good as Toby
Nobody will ever do it better than Toby but Parker did a pretty good job. They’re both excellent artists.

Awful version
Son,like with the National Anthem,no version can ever be awful.
