    I don't think India assesses situations dispassionately. We won the BGT last time because Kohli left after the first test. When he was there, India collapsed to 36 all out. It was the stand in captain Rahane that did the trick just like Bumrah in the first test. Most importantly, we won because of the emphasis on taking 20 Australian wickets every test. Here, we saw a mutiny of sorts with Ashwin resigning midway and no one other than Bumrah looking likely to take a wicket in awesome bowling conditions. We need to let go Sharma and Kohli asap, blood young batters without fear and in the bowling dept. look for lethal pace like Mayank Yadav to prop up the Bumrah threat.

      You’re spot on, we have killed so many fast bowlers by chopping them off a series or few matches … case in point Umran, Mayank, etc., how does a sub par batter like Paddikal make it to the team every time

    Kohli… in just one tour he has become yesterday’s man and today’s bully. His frustration with his personal performance has spilled out into the public arena as a bitter fellow lashing out at those who admire him most: his fans, his teammates, even young Konstas is on record as saying Kohli was his hero.

      His mind is no longer in Cricket like when it was before 2020. Now even when he scores a century, he is just thanking Anushka. He no longer looks hungry to be honest. Soon he will be averaging below 45. And still some toxic fans will still be praising him. If it was any other cricketing nation, he would have been dropped long back which would only had helped him comeback.

      Again, if you are talking about the World Cup, India would not have made it to the grand final if they weren't a great team. It's just that our boys, the Australian cricket team, played out of their skins, and flogged India. The first stroke of genius being the decision to bowl first, you can see Pat Cummins agonising over this question in the pre game videos. His bold decision showed his wealth of experience, and a fearless attitude towards his job as skipper. Even before a ball is bowled, he has taken the game by the scruff of the neck. Outstanding.

    Not the sandpaper incident. The 3 players were severely punished and the Australian people agreed with it. Steve Smith was just the captain at the time and did not know about what was going on. They were banned and were never to be in leadership positions. We have similar incidents with the mint sweets in england and no one was punished. We have the betting on matches. India the home of sports betting and phone scams is throwing stones in a glass house. The one day international finals had India doctoring wickets to suite the home team. Is that cheating or do we look the other way? Before neutral umpires the umpires in India were being influenced by the crowd and opponents were being given out with ball heading down leg side. Is that cheating?

    • @vish2553
      @vish2553 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Come on. Smith the captain knew about it ( it wouldn’t have been the first time) and did NOT do a damn thing about it. Guilty by omission. The punishment dished out wss pathetic, only one fall guy was made to take the rap, rest were gently rapped on the knuckles with a feather.
      Aussies have been cheating for a very long time. Cheating and sledging are the national sports. Sandpaper was only the tip of the iceberg,

    • @umag1966
      @umag1966 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Totally agree. No one was more punished than the Aussies for the Sandpaper incident. Smith was in his prime. He never returned to the same form. Aussies agreed "if you do the crime then do the time", The booing of Koli was all started by Kolli by bumping a young teenager on debut. And not getting the right punishment for it. He can dish out but can't take it. Anyone calling Koli as a hero should know that Hero's aren't bullies. Bullies are cowards

      Tendulkar was suspended once for ball tampering, but the Indian fan base conveniently forgets that.
      He was caught on camera digging his fingernail into the seam of the ball. He got suspended for one match. Pathetic.
      Indian players and fans referencing sandpaper is hypocrisy of the highest order.
      At least the ACB took the ball tampering offence more seriously and banned their own players for one year independently of the ICC's recommendations.
      Ball tampering by all nations is rife in cricket but it's usually ignored unless it's blatant.
      We saw it most recently in England during the Ashes. They couldn't tamper with it so they just swapped it for a new one which unquestionably altered the outcome of that match. As usual nothing was done. Hypocrites the lot of them.
      The Australians were wrong in what they did but at least they admitted it and accepted their punishments honourably. As far as I'm concerned Australia definitely has the high ground when it comes to the issue of cheating.

I'm an average fan and I've always thought Virat is a bit of a tosser so I expect that stuff from him but I respected his talent and I think his aggression singlehandedly changed India's success rate in Australia. Don't forget - until Virat came along India had never won a test series in Australia. I was very disappointed in the booing by the Aussie crowd. I blame the media for their constant drumming up of controversy when the actual cricket was amazing.

    Virath Kohli is the maestro of the game with his antics with bat in the past and with action in the past 5 years. RCB earns a load and BCCI has never been in loss just because Virath is underperforming. He may not make people rich but he makes a huge amount of money for BCCI. I really believe Kohli should play another 5 years of cricket to make his fans happy. New players cant make money for. Moreover, BCCI is a private autonomy so it cannot be associated with the spirit of patriotism. Keep the nation aside and enjoy cricket if you don't want to get hurt. Without Kohli, there is no charm for Indian cricket. ICC referred to Virath Kohli to convince the International Olympics Association to pave a platform for cricket in the Olympics. It is a proven fact that 95% of cricket fans of Kohli are Indians. Hopeless BCCI can't leave Kohli at the cost of its pandora's box. I feel sorry for BCCI and proud of Virath Kohli. His unusual presence antics are more valuable than his performance as a maestro...❤

    India can't rely on Bumrah because to be honest. Bumrah doesn't look that fit and he's 31.
    He's got a big butt and big thighs and I don't see his action as sustainable to an old age.
    He's already not finishing a test due to back spasms at 31.
    He may be the bowler he is now until 33-34. And then he will decline rapidly.
    Bumrah is the bowler to try and lead India to test championship in the next cycle only. He won't be their strike weapon in the cycle after that.
    Hazlewood and Starc are 34 now and they are both towards the end of their lethal career and now will have to bowl smarter at a point. But both at 34 seem to be much more athletic people than Bumrah is now.

    All
    They feel no one is bigger or better than them
    Full of nothing

    They really missed Shami. Team selection cost them really, because Australia were still beatable, but as well as carrying Rohit and (sort of) Kohli, they had Reddy and Sundar. Reddy, despite his century, was an all-rounder who they didn't trust to bowl, and the pitches didn't suit Sundar. Even Nathan Lyon could hardly get a bowl, let alone a second spinning all-rounder. With better team selection, India probably would have won

    Country with 1.4 b and huge financial advantage is treating other nations as colonies….country was a colony and has nit recovered from its thinking. Shame really…..and things will get worse for sure …no other country behaves like this in sports! Time to grow up and perhaps be decent humans!
