      Our family knows her family.... Her father was a minister in iraqi government and her grandfather owned alot of money due to his companies... She did not had to struggle for money or freedom or anything else they left iraq since she was a kid i think in late 70s... Her only struggle was to be successful woman and she became very very successful....... But most of iraqis women they currently can not only focus on being successful they focus on how to survive how to gain money and freedom and alot of things its not easy
      Also i'm not underestimated her at all or i'm saying because of her wealth family.. All i'm saying she dedicate her mind to focus on only one thing which is success

    My lecturers in the architecture school used to say how unnecessary her architecture was. I came to realization over the years that 1- she is a true artist 2 - she was good at marketing - simple. I think if we have strong convictions (how we think the world should be) + the willpower to persist in face of difficulties we all probably can be some type of Zaha manifestation, not like her but unique in our own ways. I think Zaha is great inspiration not because of her architecture but because of the way she went about pursuing what she loved.

      I think her building are ugly honestly. Architecture is not about "pushing" boundaries, it's about designing human spaces.

      @@yuzan3607 could you explained further why

    • @yuzan3607
      @yuzan3607 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ayodeledavid3034 That her buildings are ugly? it's just my perception. Any of her buildings stick like a sore thumb in the surrounding environment. Kind of like how a TV looks ugly in a living room. They look cool on a computer screen or as a sculpture (where it's isolated) but not in real life.
      My second sentence, it's because that's the purpose of architecture. Architecture is mainly engineering that uses art not the other way around.

    Amazing that she passed away two weeks after this interview.
    So many of our great artists and designers leave us too soon where we are always left to wonder about what else might they have done. However, in comparison it’s as though Frank Lloyd Wright had 3 periods of greatness in his life where a couple of his best designs came to reality after his passing. Or in the last 15-20 years of his life. He was starting his design school in the desert after the age that most retire. Surrounded himself with young enthusiastic students and volunteers to accomplish it.

    It took quite a while to comprehend what had occurred this morning...I am very grateful that this discussion had taken place, only weeks before today - the day when we all suffer a great loss in terms of witnessing and learning from more possibilities that she constantly inspires the world with. Countless potential innovations cut short to the world's grief, very sudden and shocking indeed. Despite all the great controversies her works stir, we can't deny that she is and will be remembered as an icon of our time, and nevertheless a role model of women in architecture - one which doesn't compromise but only improves when posed with challenges and inequality. That third last question stroke home to be heard today. Zaha Hadid will be missed, and be long remembered for her legacy within and beyond the realm of architectural design.

    She was the greatest architect in the world. Her work is mesmerizing, fantastically gorgeous. She is ahead of her time. All of you out there who love Frank Loyd Wright and Meis Van der Rohe - don’t even think of looking at her creations, you won’t understand them. Wright’s work is a long line of one monstrosity after another. The ugliness is depressing. As for Meis, all of his creations just look like boxes. Boxes, people!!! So sit down, get to know Zaha and she what she has to offer. I’ve changed my mind about you not even trying. When you are through and you’d still rather stare at the boxes and also realize that many of Wright’s buildings leak (The Johnson Wax building, right here I’m Racine where I live.). So sad-ugly AND leaking. BUT TO EACH HIS OWN

I know from personal conversations that people, men, see her as a threat to their Egos and their whole view of life. Her work is highly inspirational and makes the viewers unfold their own inner potentials. This is not received well by the corporate agenda which wants people to be dependent and uncreative.

Peter Rose and Peter Zumthor are great as well.

      She died of a heart attack, and for the most part, it was a surprise, but she was a notorious workaholic, which most likely contributed to her death.
