Gold fishes are not low maintenance they require a big tank, oxygen pump, water filters etc and they require a lot of water changes as they eat a lot and make the water really dirty
@@roccolily5399 not really, I've been fishkeeping goldfish for 8 years, the only hard thing is you need a lot of money you need a 50gal. aquarium or a fish pond, a filter to clean the water, an aerator for water circulation, a water pump, etc.

No need for filtration and aeration. It had a thick layer of algae on the sides which probably helped with the ammonium management. The tank needed only to be changed once a week and the goldfish were fed at most twice a day with a tiny palms of flakes. They were pretty happy.

In my opinion, it's much healthier to introduce a new fish to them when they're younger to get them socialised, but if they are older and have been isolated for a long time, be cautious, the new tank mate might be killed.
As a owner of betta fish i agree thet betta fish is very easy to take care they can also survive without oxygen. And can survive without food about 10-14 days. Betta fish are very suitable for kids who are interested in keeping a fish pet.

Most of the bettas loves (other fish) in their tank as a companion. Will like to say donot add another betta fish with yours. If can standby another aquarium before placing them in your Betta's aquarium to see its behaviour. Thank you.

NEVER put 2 boys in the same tank. They will become territorial and fight with each other. Two girls are fine. Are girl and a boy are fine if you’re fine with possibly them having babies. Make sure to buy fish conditioner. It makes the water safe for the betas. So when you buy one (usually it will come in a bag or little container) you will fill up the tank with water than put 1-2 teaspoons of the conditioner in that water. Then take your container with your fish in it and place the whole container in the tank. It will float. But it gets your fish used to the water. Wait 30 mins. Then put your beta in! It might sound complicated, but overall, a beta fish is very easy to take care of! Also if you don’t want to clean your tank as often, I recommend getting a catfish or sea snail along with the beta. And not like a huge catfish. You will see them in the fish section. I had a panda catfish, albino catfish, and a Cory catfish. They are pretty tiny, but they help a TON with cleaning your tank! And they are only a few bucks! That all that I have for tips!

Personaly its not a fish (its still aquatic) but African dwarf frogs are so low maintenance and are so silly and cute looking. There very friendly and small. Google says you can put them in a 1 gallon but i recommend a 5 gallon cause you need space for filter and heater and what not.
Honey gourami, dwarf gouramis are much more likely to be aggressive. You got some where around a 50/50 shot at having a sweet DG to having an absolute jerk that will attack other fish in your tank. Honeys are pretty much always peaceful and a great, rather low maintenance choice although they do orefer heavy vegetation, or lots of mid to top level artificial plants to hide in. If you are keeping them on their own with no tank mates, theyre both nice choices, but if you want other species I wouldnt risk it and I would go with the honey gourami. Also keep in mind that honey Gouramis stay about an inch smaller than DGs. Minimum tank size for a honey gourami with no other fish is 5 gallons, while ten would be better if you wanted other species like guppies or platies or mollies or a schooling fish. DGs mimimum is 10 gallons even when kept alone. Last thing is Dwarf Gouramis have a decent chance to get the Dwarf Gourami Iridovirus, a disease that will kill a DG, while honey gouramis cannot get said disease.
Help!! My parents got me 4 goldfish for Christmas, and they got me a 10 gallon tank… I feel like that’s small but the fish are small right now, and they promised me I could get a bigger tank as they get older, the tank came with a light and a filter, the lady said I don’t need a heater; and they bought everything they said I needed, so food, conditioner, tank with filter and light, I have those pink rocks (I’m hoping to switch it to sand) and then I got a thermometer a siphon thingy, and some toys/hides, what else do I need so they don’t die?!?! Please help!!😭😭
I think they will be fine as long as you make sure the water is good and clean.Make sure to clean the filter often because gold fish pollute the water very quickly
Goldfish are NOT easy maintenance fishes!!! They eat and sh*t ALOT so you need to do a water change almost every week. It's a misconception that goldfish are simple, easy-to-handle fishes. They're like attention seeking water babies.

Fighter, Goura, Guppy, Molly are the best beginner fishes.
Gold fish is not easy maintenance.

Please do not get a molly if you do not do research on it. I didn't and my mollies ended up dying the night I got them.
