I guess one of the smaller speakers in my car is slightly blown, but I think my woofer sounding a bit shaky is just the car rattling and not my woofer, though they may just be slightly blown.
A quick test is to play something at a reasonable level with lots of bass and press in areas of the panel that holds the speaker. Door cards in particular can rattle at different frequencies.
I have a receiver that always blows out the tweeter of rigth side speaker always happens with the rigth channel speaker's why does my receiver keep doing this. ?
To test to see if they are "blown," stage your gain on your amp and head unit properly (basically set them in order of flow so that they are just below the point at which they don't clip, first the head unit with amp at nominal gain, then turn up amp to just below clipping, do a search for more details), and then play a tone sweep (search TH-cam). Your speaker tone will change drastically at particular frequency ranges. This indicates they are blown. You'll probably notice some differences from left to right. Turns out my left speaker isn't blown at all but my right one is and shows in a couple places.
Excellent advice, I would just exercise caution with the playback levels when using test tone sweeps. They contain far more acoustic energy than typical music programme, so can tax both the speakers and amplifier.
@@AxiomHomeTheaters thank you for the addition. Yes, you should start with your volume low and use your ears to gauge what a good level is with respect to how your music sounds when you are just below clipping thresholds at all stages.

There are two things I would check: If your computer speakers are powered, make sure they are plugged in correctly and that the power supply is still working. Usually there will be a little light on it. The next step would be to try your speakers plugged into another computer to see if it’s an issue with your computer or the settings.
@@alessiacasco if the sound is buzzing, it's possible that the plug or the jack is damaged for your computer. I would try the speakers into another computer, or the headphone jack on your cellphone. If it does not buzz, then the computer is the problem. If it still buzzes, you either have a problem with the speakers themselves, or the wiring/plug.
Different type of 'speaker' entirely, and unless there's been physical damage or water, this shouldn't happen. Suggest talking to the phone manufacturer.

It's possible that your head unit is overheating, and we suggest looking into a dedicated subwoofer and amp. However, car stereos are not our specialty.

My air tube in my subwoofer makes a rattling noise for some reason. Anyone know why? My speaker isn't blown it's perfectly fine, but the tube where the air escapes is rattling.

I upgraded my door speakers to 6.5s skar with a 1500 kicker amp and on some songs low volume or high volume it starts to crackle not sure why its just one of the speakers crackling
So today I was playing music and they sound completely fine. They’re clear and have good bass still but during certain songs with the bass where I usually have it I’ll hear a popping sound. Does anyone know what that is? It sounds like a suction cup being pulled off a glass.
If it sounds mechanical it’s possible that you are “bottoming” the woofer. This means that you are driving the woofer beyond its limits and the voice coil is hitting the back plate of the motor system, creating a mechanical popping sound. If this just started occurring you might want to remove the woofer from one of your speakers and have a close look at the surround and the spyder/damper (attached to the back side of the cone neck) to check for damage. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your speakers.
One example would be if you're listening to a stark recording of female voice. If instead of very pure sound it's fuzzy, or you buzzing, when the singer hits certain notes, this would indicate a problem with your speakers. Hope that clarifies things for you, thanks for your question, and for watching.
If I can get some feed back on an issue that would be amazing. I have 2 - Qsc k12 speakers and they’ve always been amazing. Lately the speakers sound sooo harsh and loud like it’s not healthy sound. Everything is gained correctly, seriously there’s no reason these speakers should be sounding this loud and harsh. It sounds like the gain on my mixer is cranked so it sounds very hot and over gained and harsh and loud. But again everything is properly set etc. Nothing sounds buzzing or anything like that it’s just so harsh sounding. I’ve tried different mixers, different audio interfaces and the speakers are my last option. Do speakers start to produce harsh sound when they’re going bad? I’m going to go buy 2 of the k12.2’s to see if it’s the speakers but since I’ve never heard them sounding “blown” like crackling or buzzing etc I never thought they were bad. If someone can let me know if this is a sign of the speakers going bad that would be super helpful. Again the speakers sound very clear and fine but harsh and loud when I get them to an appropriate level. So now if I wanted to get a crowed going at say a bar, my volume will have to be wayy more lower for it not to kill my ears and then I can’t captivate the energy and vibe of the venue because of the harsh sound. I hope this all made sense and if anyone can help me out that would be awesome. I really hope someone says hey man your speakers are dying go buy new ones and then I will be so happy. I just want this problem fixed because I host two shows a week and I am losing my hearing and I’m livid.
If the sound has changed all of a sudden, it suggests to me that something might have happened to the internal electronics, or the tweeters. I would speak to QSC to see if they have any ideas.
Tweeters are the most likely to be blown by clipping, woofers are usually burned up by amplifier fault where an O/P transistor shorts (only in split supply amps)

There are two things I would check: If your computer speakers are powered, make sure they are plugged in correctly and that the power supply is still working. Usually there will be a little light on it. The next step would be to try your speakers plugged into another computer to see if it’s an issue with your computer or the settings.
what are the main cause of blown computer speakers? Mine are blown and I have no idea why
Depends, do they not work at all, or do they just sound strange?
@@AxiomHomeTheaters they just sound strange, kind of like a buzz.
I'm wearing airpods I don't know if it's blown

What about phone speakers :( ?
Different type of 'speaker' entirely, and unless there's been physical damage or water, this shouldn't happen. Suggest talking to the phone manufacturer.
Every speaker I own is blown. (there is a song right there waiting to be written),
Can’t wait to hear the song, especially the lyrics.

Hi guys why is monitors to hot at the back ???
What kind of monitor? Computer?
M audio bx5d3 using them in my yamaha psr s770 keyboard professional arranger
@@Lackojunior12 Your monitors have built-in power amplifiers which is why they are heating up. The rear panel is acting to dissipate the heat.
The shining blew my speakers. One more reason to hate that awful movie
Which scene? Or what sound did it?
see my issue is when the volume is at max, it sounds way more quiet than it normally does, so is the speaker blown?
Are you saying the sound gets quieter instead of louder when the volume gets near max?
I don't have a amp in my car it's just my stereo and I love bass and when I listen to some of my songs time passes and then it gets a static sound which really is bothersome but after I get out of my car for a little bit they are back to normal what going on?
It's possible that your head unit is overheating, and we suggest looking into a dedicated subwoofer and amp. However, car stereos are not our specialty.
@@AxiomHomeTheaters that's what I'm afraid of getting due to the possibility of destroying my battery or alternator
Hello, I don't know what happened to my speakers but I got high quality laptop (gaming), I had amazing sound even on 50% of system audio. And with Nahimic 3 which is special software for MSI laptop even better...1 day I played 1 game and heared huge crackling sound and let it go for minute max, and after it ended a game. And I realized my sound is hugely decreased and clear audio too. Now I have all almost on max but sound way worse than before, low sound, now is audio not clear and sounds weird...I don't know what happened. Can it be something with speakers or is it with drivers ? I updated all but still not better. I really want to go to get my audio back but now still sure if it can be speakers damage or something different...Please help me, if you can answer. I can give you more details if you want but I don't know what is the problem and if is way lower sound also problem with damaged speakers. Sound is not even clear as before, as I wrote. Thank you for your time reading this.
I’m not sure if you are using computer speakers with built-in amplifiers, but it sounds like something might have failed with the electronics built into the speakers. I would contact the manufacturer and see if they have any suggestions. And sorry for missing your earlier question about this! Recently discovered that TH-cam does not notify of every comment, but now we manually check daily to try and catch all comments. Thanks for watching, and good luck!
@@AxiomHomeTheaters Thank you so much for your answer. I liked the video and keep up the good work! I am already contacted the shop where I bought it. I will now try last 1 fix they told me to do, and if doesn't help, I am going to get propably new laptop cuz this 1 is damaged. Anyway thanks again, and have a nice day ;).
You're very welcome, and hope this last fix works for you! Thanks for watching, and hope you are having a great weekend.
My speaker just put the volume down by itself it that's normal?? And it sound really low !!!
What kind of speakers and what electronics are you using with them?
My air tube in my subwoofer makes a rattling noise for some reason. Anyone know why? My speaker isn't blown it's perfectly fine, but the tube where the air escapes is rattling.
Check to see if the port tube is loose…you can usually tell without opening the cabinet by trying to rock it with your hand. If it is the adhesive holding it has likely failed over time. I would contact the original manufacturer for advice. Thanks for watching 👍
@@AxiomHomeTheaters I checked, the adhesive is tightly secured. I know someone that knows alot about speakers, they told me my speaker is blown. Thank you for the reply :)
@@markosbellezzi4841 glad you found an answer from someone you can trust. 👍
I upgraded my door speakers to 6.5s skar with a 1500 kicker amp and on some songs low volume or high volume it starts to crackle not sure why its just one of the speakers crackling
Check all your wiring and connections first. It's not a bad idea to occasionally re-seat all connectors to get rid of any minor corrosion.
thanks for explaining what the word "blown" is for 1 minute...
A lightening strike about 300 feet away blew a powered sub I had (along with the garage opener).
That sounds nasty! Unfortunately there isn’t much that can save electrical equipment from a direct (or close) lightning strike.
If speakers are blown! How are we to hear this? I can’t! But it’s funny that this is even real! Should just be writing don’t ya think
Sure would have been nice if this had provided examples for us to hear. Jeez.
Axiom Audio thanks i appreciate it
"It will sound distorted, harsh, thin, bright". And you can't give us some examples of how this sounds why? :/
One example would be if you're listening to a stark recording of female voice. If instead of very pure sound it's fuzzy, or you buzzing, when the singer hits certain notes, this would indicate a problem with your speakers. Hope that clarifies things for you, thanks for your question, and for watching.
How about no sound
That's broken for sure, fair point.
so turn my speakers down...ok....got it
If I can get some feed back on an issue that would be amazing.
@@AxiomHomeTheaters thank you very much
