These institutions should be shut as there is a research that most of the general category students also are opting for non-core jobs even after graduating from such elite institutes. These institutions and the professors therein talk of merit, they themselves first don't have the competence to generate competent engineers and blame and criticize the reserved category students for deteriorating the quality of their institutes. How can you expect the teenage SC ST students to be omnipotent? This is insane. They have come there to learn, TEACH THEM.

Whenever st and sc students take admission in iits with higher rank there is gap between other student and him and when semester starts lots of st sc students suffer time lag to grasp the syllabus. It is natural for every student when he or she enter into iit ecosystem where assignment, lab ,tutorial, quiz in every week. Student have lots of pressure to cover all at given time frame. I am not telling that every st sc students face this difficulty but some of them definitely. Students feels that he/she is not as much as smart as other and he is in iit due to reservation policy which lead to the depression. But after 2nd semester i think every student become familiar with this ecosystem. It is totally wrong that Student mock st sc students and provoke for sucide. I Am also pass out iit and from general category but never seen any caste discrimination even my langotiya are from sc. Student should take patience for 2 semester thereafter it will smooth.👍

Actually the reason why IIT/IISC have less number of SC ST professor is because they couldn't secure basic eligibility let alone actually be beating other potential candidates to the job. Assistant professor at IIT IISC have PhD and some time multiple posdoc from some fine foreign universities or other research works. They also need some strong LORs from professors they have worked with previously. Don't expect product of reservation to have any of that.

Higher studies and PhDs in STEM are done primarily by people who are genuinely interested in their area of research they seldom care about job scene or making money. SC ST chaps who get admission by securing only a fraction of marks gotten by other candidates in under graduates are less likely to go for higher studies where the demand for hard working increases immensely.

These institutions should be shut as there is a research that most of the general category students also are opting for non-core jobs even after graduating from such elite institutes. These institutions and the professors therein talk of merit, they themselves first don't have the competence to generate competent engineers and blame and criticize the reserved category students for deteriorating the quality of their institutes. How can you expect the teenage SC ST students to be omnipotent? This is insane. They have come there to learn, TEACH THEM.

Whenever st and sc students take admission in iits with higher rank there is gap between other student and him and when semester starts lots of st sc students suffer time lag to grasp the syllabus. It is natural for every student when he or she enter into iit ecosystem where assignment, lab ,tutorial, quiz in every week. Student have lots of pressure to cover all at given time frame. I am not telling that every st sc students face this difficulty but some of them definitely. Students feels that he/she is not as much as smart as other and he is in iit due to reservation policy which lead to the depression. But after 2nd semester i think every student become familiar with this ecosystem. It is totally wrong that Student mock st sc students and provoke for sucide. I Am also pass out iit and from general category but never seen any caste discrimination even my langotiya are from sc. Student should take patience for 2 semester thereafter it will smooth.👍

Actually the reason why IIT/IISC have less number of SC ST professor is because they couldn't secure basic eligibility let alone actually be beating other potential candidates to the job.
Assistant professor at IIT IISC have PhD and some time multiple posdoc from some fine foreign universities or other research works. They also need some strong LORs from professors they have worked with previously. Don't expect product of reservation to have any of that.

@@darpan1050 you don't need reservation to do higher studies. Higher studies and PhDs in STEM are done primarily by people who are genuinely interested in their area of research they seldom care about job scene or making money.
SC ST chaps who get admission by securing only a fraction of marks gotten by other candidates in under graduates are less likely to go for higher studies where the demand for hard working increases immensely.
