Well, that was very informative. Surely there must be some other more robust, better designed OEM rocker system that could be adapted to these engines. The exorbitant expense of a good aftermarket system is one of the reasons I have held off on building a Cadillac for so long.
The valve train works fine on stock camshaft higher lift springs they will definitely break this engine is designed for low rpms cast connecting rods will give out also i have messed with a bunch of these engines
@@christopherhyde9842 people break the Cadillac rod because they stick a piston and the rockers because they don't leave room .... I have run stock Cadillac engine to 6500 RPM with stock rocker arms and it worked for years and years and years and never broke either item ... I have run stock rods to make 1000 ft lbs of torque and they did not break ..... This is why I have made theses videos to explain what they do that causes them to fail ...it is not the part it's what they do .....I have been racing the Cadillac engine for 40 years ....only started working at Cad Co a few months ago when the owner passed away
Not sure why people think it's a rpm and then they explode or something ..... Over the long haul it's probably a bad idea to run them with that camshaft ... Two reasons ... First ramp speed on that camshaft is high and so adds a lot of stress to the rocker arms ... Two because the camshaft is designed to make a rough idle the stock camshaft low ratio at opening will soften the effect of the camshaft

What kind of rpms were you going to with the stock rockers?

So... bigger cam lobes not only have a ceiling, but pushing past 0.300" is probably trouble.
