    Thank you Diane! Did some of my detailed cleaning whilst you were doing yours. You mentioned that things are always dirtiest when you first start the cleaning. I will share a horror story for the benefit of new fly babies. I have a kitchen island with open shelving beneath and a butchers block with open shelving too. Well as all fly babies know - we don't have time to do anything. What we mean is...we don't have time to do it "properly" and indulge our perfectionism. I never had time to do much - so these two units were FILTHY the first time I cleaned them. When I say filthy I mean vile and appalling! Oh the grime!! A real horror. Now I do them once a month in the zone. It just takes minutes as all that needs "cleaning" are a few crumbs and a bit of dust. I have to say that many areas in my house were like that - because I didn't "have time". Believe me when I say it really doesn't take much time at all and I smile now at how clean they look! I have been flying now for about one year. Thanks again Diane for inspiring us all. X

      Ha ha, been there, done that! Isn't that a great feeling, Jill? Knowing that it will never be that bad again. And even if it gets bad again, we *know* what to do - yay!

    Diane I'm addicted to you. I have started and stopped the fly lady system at least a dozen times in the past 14 yrs ..it always felt too overwhelming. This time I'm listening to you and doing a little bit ..not obsessing. I'm a all or nothing person. I was so calm last week I was so on top of things! So excited for week 2! Thank you so so much!

      Same here. :)
      (My only concern is won't I get too addicted to youtube and instagram now?...)

      @gabit.7148 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheodoroucC72 and regisztralni akinemar. You are both so right! I always say: I do a bit each day and have more Me-time than ever.
      TH-cam and Instagram....I am not really sure about it. I think, I am more a youtuber than an Instagramer :)
      I set my timer - but 15 minutes for youtube, 15 minutes for instagram, 15 minutes to do a puzzle (I love puzzles), 15 minutes here and there - the internet is such a great time-eater!
      Gabi

    Love the skylight above the table. You did a great job remodeling your home! Thank you again for a helpful vid. My hubby and I are heading out camping for 2 wks and it's going to be so nice to come home to a pristine kitchen.... and clean bedding... and swished baths...and laundry caught up. Doing the FlyLady system has really saved my sanity.

    Thanks at work so watching this during break and making list in my calendar by day of what I can do each evening when I came home. Great ideas. Need to due screens from exhaust over stove and to put away coffee pot from party over weekend but will first will use vinegar to clean it out. Thanks!!! Say a love your videos. While I'm doing my cleaning tonight will listen again to see what I missed and enjoy the company as I clean.

    Loved this! I cleaned right along with you and did some things I wouldn't have thought of had I not watched you. Everyone needs a different type of inspiration, and for me, this was it! I definitely needed to be told what to do (not that you did that at all, I know you were very flexible in telling folks to work on whatever they needed to work on). However, I feel like I never know where to start, so being able to follow along was exactly what I needed. Thank you, thank you!!!

    Thank you Diane for the inspiration and the encouragement. I have a suggestion that might help you when you are tidying up. If you work from the top down, any dust that falls will be cleaned up when you get to the next level. Since you dust up high for webs, that should be first, then the windows, counters, cabinets, baseboards, and finally floors. You're done. Hth 😊

Windows, drawers, closets, craft supplies, laundry, ALL those hidden, forgetable area's in our lives...there getting CLEANED!!!! WHAT!?! Yes, you heard that right!!! I love you & your flylady system. Much love & respect to you from St. Johns, Michigan.

    I am JUST like you with the windows. I've cleaned the windows more in the last month than I have in the previous DECADE thanks to you and the Fly Lady system. I actually cleaned the rubber gasket of the washing machine for the (ugh) first time. It's amazing how much your coaching with this system has helped.

    Thanks so much for being a DC(darling cheerleader). Yeah! I have been trying to get out of CHAOS for many years including using the FlyLady system. I've picked up some habits but never completely kept it up. I recently started watching your videos mostly for enjoyment. I missed them this passed week. Saturday I watched the "Not Perfect" video & that's what I strive for. You then advised to watch the kitchen zone cleaning video & guess what, I finally cleaned my kitchen window! Yeah me!! As I was making my bed this morning in my "slip on" shoes I saw my sneakers on the floor & heard you say "Put those on." I can hear you Diane!! Thanks again for helping so many of us learn how to fly bc we weren't listening before. I am in the process of doing baby steps with you with my shoes on!!

    @perleslune7137 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks a lot Diane for this video, it's astonishing how much can be accomplished in a less than half an hour!
    It inspired me to clean my living room double glass doors (inside and outside) and my kitchen windows (inside only - but they are tricky to get to, since they are just behind the sink), as well as vacuum my main areas (entry, kitchen, living room).
    Then since I was on a roll, I also vacuumed the stairs, master bedroom and kids' bedrooms. Now I need to rest and pace myself!!
    Meanwhile the kids were sorting their toys : for the new ones to be able to fit inside their toy crates, they need to find some room by getting rid of a few old ones...
    Yay it's such a nice feeling to be barefeet and feel the clean floor :-))
    You're the best cheerleader!!
    Nathalie.

    I love your videos, they inspire me so much. I've just started the fly lady system and love it . But 2 weeks ago my sciatic nerve took me down to the floor in pain. I'm going crazy not being able to do anything! I lie in my den floor ( hard floor seems to help ) and just know everything that's not getting done ! My DS , DD , husband and mother are helping though. Oh how I need patience, and a pain pill !

    Im loving these vids of yours in particular. The length is great for me as I'm decluttering and cleaning as i go. I have a shoe problem though. I don't like wearing them much. I get sore feet from them. Runners included. But i have been trying to get my routines done every day. I have been missing on some in favour of something else that I have been needing to do but that's fine. I can really get into it come the 1st January. I really can't wait to start zone cleaning but I'm going to be a few months on the decluttering first with some spot cleaning thrown in because I can't help myself. I'm still trying to get my head around timing myself. I haven't done it yet because I'm not comfortable putting a limit on what i need done now. I know. I know. But it has to be done this way atm. Lol. Like I said. I'll start on the 1st. Zone 1 is super short next month. 🖖😘 Thanks a bunch for these vids. They are truly getting me moving.

    Diane, I do love watching your flylady videos but I'd like to say the cobwebs would best be done first, the windows second seeing that you have to stand on the counter with your shoes on and the counters last of all. But apart from that I get a lot of inspiration watching your videos.

    I like your cutting boards. I'm going to buy a bigger wooden one sometime. I have a smallish plastic one I use all the time. I don't know why, but I bought a glass one. Brothers Green Eats said never to use a glass cutting board, and it makes sense. Wooden or plastic are good. I'm going to donate the glass one. I'm taking a break, I did my dishes just now, and took out the trash (I live on the 2nd floor). I try not to have trash in the morning when my nurse comes over. It's Monday so I'm working on my kitchen, it just so happens to be the kitchen zone. I even deep cleaned the drying wrack tray underneath the wrack, do you know what I'm talking about? I hurt my left knee last week. I fell on it. It's better now. It will be easier to do the kitchen floor today. I'm going to make vegetarian chili tomorrow, I can't wait!!

    One question about the window cleaning: When do you clean the outside of the windows and the frames? At my windows 90% of the dirt is there and not inside.

    • @regisztralniakinemakar8678
      @regisztralniakinemakar8678 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And another question about this: what about the skylight?

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do the outside windows of our weekend cabin three or four times a year, using the same method (glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth). The first time was the worst, but now that I'm doing it regularly, it doesn't take long at all. At our house here in Denmark we have a windowcleaner...he comes 4 times a year/has special equipment. We have a three storey house and I can't reach that high - not without falling off a ladder in the process! LOL

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't have any set schedule and, as you'll find out with the Flylady way, anthing is better than nothing. Most of my zone work is done while I'm waiting for the kettle to boil, waiting for dinner to finish cooking etc. I just fit in a few minutes here and there :-)

    Can you use the citric acid (??) in the toilet to get hard water lines off?
    I've never seen a toilet build up hard water lines as fast as when living in Sweden- guess we have a similar issue as Denmark.

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can use 'citronsyre' in the toilet but, if it is really bad, you may need something stronger from the pharmacy/diy store.

      +Joann Spence Yes! I put on an apron if it's a messy job but as I'm cleaning consistently these days, I no longer need toxic products/I'm not spending hours on end cleaning 😃
