Hi There, thanks for your interest. Speed, around 40mph and it will run for around 30min on high capacity batteries (2 x 7600mah 2s lipo) or around 20min on regular capacity batteries (2 x 5200mah 2s lipo). Recharging takes around 1hr with a good charger and ability to charge two batteries. Andrew, Third Coast RC.
I would get the TR-MT8E over the shredder, but it's more expensive. The TR-MT8E are great trucks with a little bit higher build quality. If you have the money go for the TR vehicle.
Awesome video. Just wanted to say you can do backflips with this but you just need more highth to complete the flip than a vehicle with a shorter wheel base.
Landing on grass, I think it would be OK. Being a longer wheelbase is not so conducive to jumping, but it makes for good handling on the ground. It's all about how you control the vehicle in the air. If you come down heavy nose first then I think you would damage something, but if your smooth and land flat the tires would do a lot of the shock absorption. Regardless for the price the Shredder is a bargain. It may only be 4s but it's drives and handles well, which cannot be said for many other over-powered 6s or 8s vehicles.
I think I'd consider the shredder a slightly lenghtened 8th scale. It's 8th scale width and uses 8th scale components. And if we're being completely honest the electronics are really 10th scale.
Thanks for the comments. It is kind of a stretched 8th scale, but it much longer. It's close to 5th scale on wheel base. Your correct, it uses the 8th scale parts, which actually are very cost effective. Spares are not expensive. On stock power and setup, this truck runs and handles great. It's a different and refreshing driving experience. The long wheelbase makes it easier to handle. There are many trucks out there that have way more power than the chassis (and to be honest the driver) can handle. We see many where people increase the power on this truck from 4s to 6s. Don't do this, it will destroy the drivetrain and the differentials. Thanks again for your comments. Andrew. Third Coast RC
@@y2shanon That's right. They go a good speed, and for a bigger vehicle they feel pretty fast. Spare parts are not expensive and readily available online and sometimes locally.
We usually sell them in our eBay store, but currently they are out of stock until Mid July and they are $360. The one in the video though is for sale. Very lightly used demo model with no problems. $300 shipped lower 48 if you want it. Let me know.
Looks like a lot of fun! Love the commentary! Just subscribed!
Thanks. Keep watching for more videos.
ThirdCoastRC will do! We also make rc videos on our channel if you’re interested!
Kinda new to the RC world. Are parts easy to get online? Also can motor be upgraded if wanted??
great video!
eBay for $359. Purchasing it right now. My son and I have 4 other Redcats. This one is mine.
I have a couple questions looking to surprise my husband. How long before recharging? How fast does it go?

How do you still have an R5?
Actually we have two, the one in the video, and one new in a very big box.
Wow! That’s pretty cool. There must only be a few left in the world!
wow ive never seen a rampage r5... was it discontinued?
Full Throttle RC they were all recalled, because they had so many issues. They were only out for a few weeks.
Yes it was. They were recalled due to poor QC from factory. Need to go through it with threadlock.
@@ThirdCoastRC Yeah. I hope they do take another swing at 1/5 tho it really was neat
How is this rc compared with Redcat TRMT8E 4S ?

@@ThirdCoastRC That's the one I have I want to get another RC so I'm considering this one. 🤔 👍This one is bigger 😁

How well do you think this RC would hold up to jumps around 6-10ft high in a field?

Where did you get your ramps
Walmart, they were on sale a couple of years back. Skateboard ramps.
Really nice truck. agree best value out there , it did look kind of narrow though ...whats a good place to buy ?
They sell them from RCPlanet.com

nice vid, im debating getting one, everyone says they are great for the money
They are great for the money. Just don't try and upgrade them to 6s, the drive train and diffs cannot take the additional power.
@@ThirdCoastRC id keep it stock and enjoy it... they go about 40 stock right?
