Dang I expected something slow, moody, maybe a bit sad similarly in the style of the Null OST, but instead we get a banger, fire metal theme, that I think indicates that the first part of Rift is already going to be really dramatic and emotional.
@@Dorked Definitely does, based on these visuals in this video! It was already pretty obvious but I am sure Rift will be most focused on Chara and Asriel's development amd conflict.
Whipping out a power ballad for the Rift was such a good idea lol. Really helps makes things feel so dramatic, something Asriel would _absolutely_ love, and it also feels so overpowering, just like the evil that's ahead of Frisk and Chara. It's slow and laborious but also tries to drown out any hope, like fighting through an endless storm.
The part I like about the song is part with that hope motif, that's the best part in my opinion Also I just noticed the souls move to the beat of the song
@Gamer Central I'd argue the other way around as IF's Flowie managed to hold himself back and maintain enough discipline to trick everyone long-term. UT Flowie on the other hand couldn't help himself from attacking immediately. Edit: Not to mention how IF Asriel seems determined to make this a "fair game" for Chara through numerous concessions.
@Dylanz Lol Chaotic Evil isn't more evil than Neutral Evil. If anything it's actually less because CE is a mix between Chaos and Evil alignments whereas NE is more like pure evil.

I've said it before, and i'll say it again: Chara deserved better. No matter the AU, they didn't deserve to be treated the way they were by the fandom. This song nearly made me cry, everything they did, while they may not have been a perfect person, they were still so kind and compassionate. A lot of how chara is interpreted is because of their dialogue from the tapes in the true lab/how they treated asriel, however, this can all be disproven as an effect of how they were treated on the surface. And still, they tried to be good, even giving up their life.
Finally got caught up on the entire comic (been meaninig to for over a year now) and damm i am blown away! You and the team did such an amazing job on all of it and i cant wait for the last couple videos to be released (but dont rush it of course)

Congrats on seeing this project though to the end! Life happens, and many others have fallen by the wayside, but it's always great to see an AU get finished.
Well, in a sense, but there's still gonna be plenty of IF content when we wrap the main story. Remastering old chapters, animating old chapters, playable versions of other fights, and maybe some side content on occasion. We shall see!
@@batalayar IF really wouldn't work as a full game. It'd be a nightmare to produce even if it was a singular route/more linear than UT. Too many things would require a ton of extra branching and stuff. To put it into perspective, our Alphys fight has 21 different endings. And that's just one fight.
@@Dorked yeah, if IF we’re to be a full game I think the fight button would have to call in sick for most of the game, ( with the exception of Alphys, Undyne (Defiant until your end) Asgore and Toriel,)
The style of those screens reminds me of The World Machine from OneShot, but the overall style of the animation reminds me of Card Castle and the Ruins... Interesting. I wonder what's in store...

I can't see how Frisk and Chara will pull through this. In UT, it was a soul versus nine other souls, even refusing death out of pure determination wasn't enough to win (and we all know that's a lot of determination for a single soul). Now, the odds are two souls versus thousands, millions, or it wouldn't much of a stretch to say billions of souls, which stack in power exponentially. The only way they will win is if Asriel straight up let's them, but I can't see what either Frisk nor Chara can say to change his mind.
Definitely not billions- he only drew power from that one city, and the rest of the world is basically frozen. Regardless, this isn't a matter of power. It's a matter of finding a way to get him to surrender. It will be difficult, but not impossible. It's just not something they can do right now, hence the need for an arc rather than just a final battle.
@@Dorked True, Asriel does load whenever Frisk or Chara dies instead of being done with it. Perhaps that part isn't cannon? But that still shows that there's hope for him.
Super excited for the final arc! I have a few questions about the neutral routes, and idk how else to ask them cause i don't have tumblr. 1) What would happen on the routes pre-reset, like what sort of character changes would there be, ik it would all be reset in the end, but you said for some of the alphys routes specifically the human would have to get to the end. 2) How many characters would be able to work out the asgore thing, if frisk killed and absorbed his soul, a) Would frisk get magic? b) What would papyrus' reaction be considering he can read LV? c) Would Undyne work it out. I just really love your AU and idk how else to ask these questions!

Yeah, we got at least a few chapters worth of content. We may have to pause mid-Rift and Rift 3 will be a week late due to Sakura Con, but time will tell what the overall schedule will be.

@@Dorked that’s true, I guess that shows how much they have changed as a character. Lack of the (iconic) sweater, “technically” speaking more etc, you really made Frisk your own. Can’t wait for the next puzzle piece in this story, no matter the medium.
This slaps, i do wonder, if Downward Spiral Mettaton theme will ever get uploaded here? i don't seem to find it elsewhere, and i don't really feel like, downloading the game, just to hear the music (i know, i'm lazy) either way, IF music it's, really good, better than UT i would say, keep it up like that!
This song accurately describes the setting of the Undertale AU Onslaught (which I’m still working on btw) & the dark topics that it’s going to cover. Also I am currently thinking about making a teaser poster for Onslaught showing Alphys looking at a screen showing pictures from other AUs & I want one of the AUs featured on the screens to be Inverted Fate. Update of progress for Onslaught: Still in the thinking stage. Currently working on concept art for Asgore’s god forms. And yes I used plural because there will be multiple, & what I mean by multiple, I mean two (which is heavily inspired by Inverted Fate btw!). I have since decided to add multiple changes to the timeline causing the new change to occur. The diverging point in the timeline will be Frisk killing Toriel in Genocide & then absorbing her SOUL, which causes a number of errors in the timeline that causes some things to happen differently. Like Flowey telling Asgore EVERYTHING at the end (Flowey will be another one of the main characters btw). Or Alphys is more successful in the evacuation & successfully convinced Muffet to evacuate with everyone else. I want this moment to be playable btw. Wouldn’t it be cool to fight Muffet during the Genocide Route while playing as Alphys with multiple endings & the canon ending is that Alphys convinces Muffet to evacuate with everyone else, allowing Alphys to block off the rest of Hotland preventing Frisk from completing Genocide causing them to fail to meet their kill quota casing them to fail the Genocide Route & they forgot to load their save file for some reason? I would love to see that too. I want Onslaught to take place not JUST in the Underground, I want it to take place mostly on the surface as well. Mostly in a world where the Monsters took over the surface because Asgore is now a god (yet ironically he has no idea how to use some of his powers like SAVE or RESET). Along with a cruel twist of irony… How does this sound so far eveyone? I bet it would sound even better after I mention the fact that both Asgore and Flowey will be getting character arcs & that most of the Undertale characters who survived up until this point in Genocide will appear at some point in Onslaught (including both Muffet & Mettaton), and some of them have DRASTICALLY changed since the events of Undertale… This is the first of many updates that I plan on posting in the comments section of these videos. I have no idea when I’ll release the next one. See you all then!…

I made a really simple rift stage as well as frisk and chara if versions in smash they are diffrent in this way: chara looks serious and has black eyes and frisk is pink instead of blue and looks smug i did only go of my memory tho and made them look similar to my canon versions!
Oh, certainly. We have old chapters to remaster and animate, dubs to produce, playable battles to make, and probably more side content. I don't see IF going away any time soon. xD
@@Dorked Oh, I totally forgot about the dubs! Ahhh they will be so great I absolutely love IF's voice cast. Little sad doe that Riley and Wintermelon are out of the team, they did stellar job at playing Frisk and Chara.
I feel like this might be a timeline where Asriel is already to far gone. And the only choice is to kill him or let him win. So I this song maybe represents maybe Chara having to make the horrible choice to kill their brother. But who knows I could be completely wrong! This is also amazing and put together perfectly! All the music sounds so good and the chosen let motifs are perfect!
Killing Asriel would really go against the spirit of both Inverted Fate and Undertale. Killing him when he has all the souls of monsters inside him would also be horrible. This is not a story where killing him is the answer.
@@Dorked But then, what other option is there? Omega Flowey and Pacifist Asriel had only 6 souls, While he now has at least thousands, and that's lowballing it. Since souls seem to increase power exponentially, to say he's omnipotent now wouldn't be an understatement. How are they meant to reason with that? Asriel doesn't seem to have any sort of compassion or empathy to really pander to, even the 'love' he has for Chara is more possessive, if not outright parasitically one sided. They can't really do the SAVE thing that happens in the Pacifist route, because he's far too powerful to dive into... There are too many Souls to call for Help. He isn't willing to talk, he isn't willing to negotiate, all he wants is to rule the world, and for Chara to be 'his' again. He's like the kid on the playground who makes stuff up so he doesn't lose, but now he actually has the power to do so. He's nothing more than a bratty kid who's having a temper tantrum, and you can't reason with him anymore. At this point, I feel the only way to even get him to listen is by giving him a proverbial spanking, and *forcing* him to finally learn his lesson. We aren't killing him, just beating him to a pulp until he throws the towel and finally realizes that he's now no better than the monster the humans saw when they attacked him. Sometimes, the only way violent and brutal people will listen is by speaking to them in the only language that they understand: Violence.
@@apollyonnoctis1291 "You can't reason with him" isn't true. Just because he's making it difficult doesn't mean it's impossible- it's just that right now, neither Frisk nor Chara have the tools to do it. At the end of the day, he is still a victim with a lot of unresolved trauma neither Frisk nor Chara know about. Also, technically speaking, final boss Asriel had the equivalent of seven human SOULs- a god-like power. But that was not a fight resolved with power. Violence is useless against a being that is immune to damage and cannot be stopped by brute force. The ONLY way to stop Asriel is to make him stop. That's why we have a full arc rather than just a final boss fight. There's a lot of stuff to unpack and explore, and time will tell how it resolves. I feel like "he's just a bratty kid" ignores a lot of the context of his character. He's doing horrible things, especially with Frisk, but there is a reason behind how he got to this point. Even before this point, little things like his resentment for being "replaced" by people like the Mage, Frisk, and others. He's a messy character, but one with a lot of depth I intend to explore without going "he did nothing wrong." You'll see. :P
@@Dorked One thing I want to mention, it does not just go against the idea of the AU and undertale, but it also betrays everything built up. How to fix this is something we, the community could figure out. The problem is that frisk and chara have to figure it out. But thanks to intervening hands, they might. This Entire AU has built up the concept of this fight. This fight was inevitable from the intro, only preventable until the moment frisk spent time to further flowey's plans to gather everyone.
I think its a nice Detail that in the seconed picture with the Hypergoner there is a picture in the upper right corner with Asriel and Chara Splitting Apart but its Blurry wich means its not yet Set in Stone if They will be Friends again or not.

1) Although I admit that this AU has some things that I don't like (and some even seem like plot incoherences), it is well built and its soundtrack is very good. The soundtrack of the battle with Flowey is one of my favorites. 2) Asriel paused (or stopped time) everything beyond Ebott City, does that mean he paused Earth or even the entire universe? 3) If you used a discarded design for Asriel new form, will you do something completely new for his final transformation? I think there are no scrapped designs for that shape.
I'M soo hyped I've binged (binge read?? XD) this comic which took about two days lol. This is the best AU ever it gave me the emotional feels, I'm seriously rooting for Frisk and (Cap) Chara.
This is genuinely one of my favorite UT/DR fan songs, the way every motif is used and layered over each other is so well done. The instrumentation adds so much to the feeling of looming dread and persisting despite it, and just makes parts like the ending Once Upon a Time callback feel so impactful I really hope the other variants of this get uploads on youtube at some point, because they do such a good job of changing the feeling of the song through the instruments, mus_ego and mus_stay especially! Anyway uhhhh music good I hope the others come to youtube at some point because they all go hard 👍
I just need to say, this theme is incredible. A great track for the final stretch of Frisk, Chara, and Papyrus' journey. Here's to an incredible finale for Inverted Fate!
The Rift feels like it's inspired by the World Machine from Oneshot. I wonder if we'll get something similar to the end of that sequence inside of Inverted Fate?
It's sad that we gotta wait like 13 chapters to see Frisk and Chars victorious. But then again it's happy that we can wait cause the IF won't end yet. Probably someone gonna be saying "it was a good run" or "this was an emotional rollercoaster" or something by the end of this.
I will say the length of the arc will make sense a bit later. xD It's just one of those things where the structure differs from UT simply having a simple final boss and epilogue.

I can't see how Frisk and Chara will pull through this.
In UT, it was a soul versus nine other souls, even refusing death out of pure determination wasn't enough to win (and we all know that's a lot of determination for a single soul).
Now, the odds are two souls versus thousands, millions, or it wouldn't much of a stretch to say billions of souls, which stack in power exponentially. The only way they will win is if Asriel straight up let's them, but I can't see what either Frisk nor Chara can say to change his mind.
Definitely not billions- he only drew power from that one city, and the rest of the world is basically frozen. Regardless, this isn't a matter of power. It's a matter of finding a way to get him to surrender. It will be difficult, but not impossible. It's just not something they can do right now, hence the need for an arc rather than just a final battle.

True, Asriel does load whenever Frisk or Chara dies instead of being done with it. Perhaps that part isn't cannon? But that still shows that there's hope for him.

I have a few questions about the neutral routes, and idk how else to ask them cause i don't have tumblr.
1) What would happen on the routes pre-reset, like what sort of character changes would there be, ik it would all be reset in the end, but you said for some of the alphys routes specifically the human would have to get to the end.
2) How many characters would be able to work out the asgore thing, if frisk killed and absorbed his soul,
a) Would frisk get magic?
b) What would papyrus' reaction be considering he can read LV?
c) Would Undyne work it out.

Hello, I am from a few months after this was posted and if you look at 5:30 and pause, you can see all of the (sides, parts, whatever) of Asriel (Spoiler!!!!! orange is ego, green is possessiveness, and dark red is fatality)

The main hub area of the Rift takes inspiration from Castle Bleck and the Tower from Oneshot. xD But it has its own flourishes, too.

I have their eyes more visibly open for certain expressions, but it's not a constant.
@@Dorked that’s true, I guess that shows how much they have changed as a character. Lack of the (iconic) sweater, “technically” speaking more etc, you really made Frisk your own. Can’t wait for the next puzzle piece in this story, no matter the medium.

This song accurately describes the setting of the Undertale AU Onslaught (which I’m still working on btw) & the dark topics that it’s going to cover.
Also I am currently thinking about making a teaser poster for Onslaught showing Alphys looking at a screen showing pictures from other AUs & I want one of the AUs featured on the screens to be Inverted Fate.
Update of progress for Onslaught:
Still in the thinking stage. Currently working on concept art for Asgore’s god forms. And yes I used plural because there will be multiple, & what I mean by multiple, I mean two (which is heavily inspired by Inverted Fate btw!). I have since decided to add multiple changes to the timeline causing the new change to occur. The diverging point in the timeline will be Frisk killing Toriel in Genocide & then absorbing her SOUL, which causes a number of errors in the timeline that causes some things to happen differently. Like Flowey telling Asgore EVERYTHING at the end (Flowey will be another one of the main characters btw). Or Alphys is more successful in the evacuation & successfully convinced Muffet to evacuate with everyone else. I want this moment to be playable btw. Wouldn’t it be cool to fight Muffet during the Genocide Route while playing as Alphys with multiple endings & the canon ending is that Alphys convinces Muffet to evacuate with everyone else, allowing Alphys to block off the rest of Hotland preventing Frisk from completing Genocide causing them to fail to meet their kill quota casing them to fail the Genocide Route & they forgot to load their save file for some reason? I would love to see that too.
I want Onslaught to take place not JUST in the Underground, I want it to take place mostly on the surface as well. Mostly in a world where the Monsters took over the surface because Asgore is now a god (yet ironically he has no idea how to use some of his powers like SAVE or RESET). Along with a cruel twist of irony…

I made a really simple rift stage as well as frisk and chara if versions in smash they are diffrent in this way: chara looks serious and has black eyes and frisk is pink instead of blue and looks smug i did only go of my memory tho and made them look similar to my canon versions!

Killing Asriel would really go against the spirit of both Inverted Fate and Undertale. Killing him when he has all the souls of monsters inside him would also be horrible. This is not a story where killing him is the answer.

Omega Flowey and Pacifist Asriel had only 6 souls, While he now has at least thousands, and that's lowballing it.
Since souls seem to increase power exponentially, to say he's omnipotent now wouldn't be an understatement.
How are they meant to reason with that?
Asriel doesn't seem to have any sort of compassion or empathy to really pander to, even the 'love' he has for Chara is more possessive, if not outright parasitically one sided.
They can't really do the SAVE thing that happens in the Pacifist route, because he's far too powerful to dive into...
There are too many Souls to call for Help.
He isn't willing to talk, he isn't willing to negotiate, all he wants is to rule the world, and for Chara to be 'his' again.
He's like the kid on the playground who makes stuff up so he doesn't lose, but now he actually has the power to do so.
He's nothing more than a bratty kid who's having a temper tantrum, and you can't reason with him anymore.
At this point, I feel the only way to even get him to listen is by giving him a proverbial spanking, and *forcing* him to finally learn his lesson.
We aren't killing him, just beating him to a pulp until he throws the towel and finally realizes that he's now no better than the monster the humans saw when they attacked him.
Sometimes, the only way violent and brutal people will listen is by speaking to them in the only language that they understand: Violence.

Just because he's making it difficult doesn't mean it's impossible- it's just that right now, neither Frisk nor Chara have the tools to do it. At the end of the day, he is still a victim with a lot of unresolved trauma neither Frisk nor Chara know about. Also, technically speaking, final boss Asriel had the equivalent of seven human SOULs- a god-like power. But that was not a fight resolved with power. Violence is useless against a being that is immune to damage and cannot be stopped by brute force. The ONLY way to stop Asriel is to make him stop. That's why we have a full arc rather than just a final boss fight. There's a lot of stuff to unpack and explore, and time will tell how it resolves.
I feel like "he's just a bratty kid" ignores a lot of the context of his character. He's doing horrible things, especially with Frisk, but there is a reason behind how he got to this point. Even before this point, little things like his resentment for being "replaced" by people like the Mage, Frisk, and others. He's a messy character, but one with a lot of depth I intend to explore without going "he did nothing wrong." You'll see. :P
@@Dorked One thing I want to mention, it does not just go against the idea of the AU and undertale, but it also betrays everything built up. How to fix this is something we, the community could figure out. The problem is that frisk and chara have to figure it out. But thanks to intervening hands, they might. This Entire AU has built up the concept of this fight. This fight was inevitable from the intro, only preventable until the moment frisk spent time to further flowey's plans to gather everyone.

1) Although I admit that this AU has some things that I don't like (and some even seem like plot incoherences), it is well built and its soundtrack is very good. The soundtrack of the battle with Flowey is one of my favorites.
2) Asriel paused (or stopped time) everything beyond Ebott City, does that mean he paused Earth or even the entire universe?
3) If you used a discarded design for Asriel new form, will you do something completely new for his final transformation? I think there are no scrapped designs for that shape.
For curiosity sake, what are those said plot incoherences?

This is the best AU ever it gave me the emotional feels, I'm seriously rooting for Frisk and (Cap) Chara.
This is genuinely one of my favorite UT/DR fan songs, the way every motif is used and layered over each other is so well done. The instrumentation adds so much to the feeling of looming dread and persisting despite it, and just makes parts like the ending Once Upon a Time callback feel so impactful
I really hope the other variants of this get uploads on youtube at some point, because they do such a good job of changing the feeling of the song through the instruments, mus_ego and mus_stay especially!

I've used finale in a few tracks in IF's OST. Ruins, for instance.
It's sad that we gotta wait like 13 chapters to see Frisk and Chars victorious. But then again it's happy that we can wait cause the IF won't end yet. Probably someone gonna be saying "it was a good run" or "this was an emotional rollercoaster" or something by the end of this.
I will say the length of the arc will make sense a bit later. xD It's just one of those things where the structure differs from UT simply having a simple final boss and epilogue.
