My family can trace its lineage back to the times of the Teutonic Crusades to the east, and our ancestors lived there for centuries before either emigrating to the US at various points or being kicked out after the second war. My family stopped using German by the time my grandparents were around, and it has been a personal goal of mine to relearn German and embrace my family's origins and my culture's rich history. By listening more carefully (in fact this song is so beautiful, that I haven't stopped listening to it since you posted it), I realize that this song is not only about soldiers, but about all Christians, who are called to stop walking in the dark and worry about their earthly life to find the path that leads to eternal absolution, the Christ path. It's the expression of what is written in the Bible, when Jesus Christ said (in the Gospel of John): "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me". @@karlkoch23 ich höre ebenfalls viel Deutschrap. Daher kann ich sagen, dass nicht jeder Deutschrap gleich ist und es durchaus auf das Subgenre ankommt. Gangster Rap ist natürlich mehr als niveaulos und schadet, da in diesen Liedern Gewalt und Straftaten glorifiziert werden etc. Wird meiner Meinung nach nur viel zu sehr von unserer Gesellschaft gehyped. Storytelling hingegen ist Rap mit Inhalt und Niveau, Funrap ist amüsierend und hat dazu oft dennoch Inhalt
So wie ich die Subgenre empfinde. Ist ja sicherlich auch nicht bei jedem gleich...
