Just a precaution - the dirt roads (logging roads) have their own rules on which side of the road you drive at certain parts, etc. and please don’t attempt to go on those with your vehicle. Only go with a seasoned driver in specific vehicles. Also, in Sarawak, especially in the interior, it is highly recommended that you don’t just enter a longhouse without a local guide or being invited by the longhouse chief. They are very friendly and hospitable, but villages in the rural areas still observe the adat of the tribes. If you get lost and stumble upon a village, always ask for the chief (tuai rumah or ketua kampong) or the representative. There are local Sarawak TH-camrs is each city/town you may want to contact to show you around. Happy birthday and have a great trip.
I think when the lady farmer said “tak boleh tak boleh” at 21:51 she might’ve misunderstood that Ken & Steve wanted to follow her or tag along with her instead of just meeting & chatting for a bit, because she said this at 22:28 “saya balik dulu sana” or “I’m gonna go back there (to where she pointed at) first.” Also something to take note of, rural farm land in Sarawak and Sabah are mostly privately owned by the natives themselves, so it’s best to always be aware of this especially when stumbling across these farms or plantations 😊✌🏻
we don't take and eat anything also because well.. it may be someone's livelihood and it may have some kind of spell so better not to take or touch anything
Steve and Ken don't just enter random area like that, we know most Malaysian are kind but some farmers use dogs like k9, there were a couple of tourists died in a durian farm few years ago killed by farmer's dogs. And in the jungle we don't know who lives there, some might stay illegally and they must be avoided, illegal hunters often brought guns with them, they'll shot whatever moves.

hope u guys have the time to do a detour to kapit, a small town upriver along the Rajang river. there is a new road that links the town to sibu. several years back we would have to use the express boats to go to and from sibu. getting there on an innova might be a bit of a challenge but some locals did it with just an Axia lol. pro tip: try getting to kapit in the evening when the town is more empty so it is easier to find parking and get to your hotel. explore the town in the morning when it is much more alive. totally recommend trying the roti canai goreng.
Hi Ivana. happy bIrthday. steve, you are lucky to have Ivana by your side. Calm yet adventerous person. Kind hearted lady. Cant imagine steve with someone else. Hehe, Many happy returns to u Ivana ❤️❤️ we love u. From Iryn Malaysia
First of all, Happy belated birthday to Ivana and Steve, you finally met your cousin (Orangutan) 😆 (that how we people of Sabah & Sarawak joke to each other when we went to see Orangutan). The crocodile (Salt water crocodile is the one of the largest crocodile) if you search the news about "Bujang Senang" you will see what I'm talking about. That small basket is purely 100% handcrafted by the kampung people. You can see the details and the looked at both of them (Mother and daughter) are genuine smile when you offered them a RM 100. It might be just a small amount for you, but to them, it's a big one. Finally, you guys eat Ayam Penyet! Stay safe.
Happy birthday Ivana🎊🎉🎊 Sabah sepilok can found more orang utan and cutest sun bear. Wrong fern can cause poisoning😆😆 Be careful. Local commonly we just buy from market paku and midin vege, cook at home😍
Hello everyone. I really enjoy watching your videos. Yeah, i'm bidayuh from Serian, and i'm so happy to see you guys made it to my home town. Okay, actually i want to tell you, the jungle where you met the lady is usually a private property. That's why it's look like that. Or, we here call the place farm, where people do various type of planting. I think why the lady refused to let you go near to her is not because of the covid but she was wary of stranger. If you found a place like that, you should not enter it or pick up something from there. If someone found you, they might assume you as trasspasser and stoler. If you want to get something from there you need to ask the landlord first. Other reason is, if you simply pick up something like fruit from the farm without telling the landlord, you will never know, the landlord might spray the plant with insect poison liquid. So, it's very dangerous. Anyway, ENJOY YOUR TRIP!
Steve and Ivana, the fern that you picked can be eaten but it tastes a bit bitter. The reason she is quite apprehensive when you entered her land is because maybe she's there alone. Wow Steve that traditional Bidayuh carry bag is a jem find. Im bidayuh and i only own one made by my late grandmother exactly like the one you bought. That bag in Bidayuh dialect is called "Ju-ah". Its made of rattan found in the jungle so it will last a lifetime. Don't worry about missing out on the cake lapis. You can find the cake everywhere throughout Sarawak. I hope you do go to Mulu National Park in Miri division.
Wow its Ivanna Birthday.Happy blessed birthday Ivanna. What a lucky man Steve to have you in his life.Hope you enjoy yr trip then and drive safely along the way.

That kakak speak Indonesia language.....it very near to the border already. Sarawakian have a lot of english speakers because official language here is English and Bahasa.
Love the video except for the land trespassing and random fruit picking. My advise: Explore places cautiously, or you will put yourself in an unwanted situation. Better avoid that. For example in this video, you guys scared away the lady working/living in the farm. This is really a common sense. I would be afraid as well if suddenly 2 strangers popped up from nowhere, entering my land, even if they are speaking in the language that I know. I also think that the pineapple and sugarcane were planted by someone, not a wild produce. Anyway, I like many of your videos, but the land exploration in this one kind of sloppy a bit. Should be more careful and thoughtful next time. I am just being honest here. Looking forward to watching your upcoming videos. By the way, Happy Belated Birthday, Ivana!
OMG..guys, please do not try any plant/leaves that u find..in the jungle!! Remember the warning abt mushrooms apply here..but do try if peddled by a local..just ask how to prepare or eat it. Watch out for poisonous snakes!! Best wishes..do go to BAKO NATIONAL PARK
Oh..how could I have forgotten to wish Ivana a happy birthday 🎂 🎁 🍰🍷🍾🍺..hope u had a great one! Steve got u a lovely present I think..the handwoven rattan bag! U could put it to variety of uses..leave it on a table by the front door holding ur keys..ur sunglasses..hats..scarves..or u could put a pot of flower arrangement in it..or hang it up with ur other Iban warrior paraphernalia: feathered or beaded or silver filigree headgear..loincloth (😂)..or tigerskin vests..or use it simply to hold fruits! Happy travels, guys..stay safe..stay blessed👍👍👋

Luckily, Steve didn't cook those wild ferns for lvana else Mr Antonio Wibowo will be "hunting" for you....😆😀 (Just kidding ) Yeah, it's best to have a local who knows exactly the correct ferns...edible and non edible ones. Minutes 27:24, it looks like a shot from a movie. Minutes 29:15 the lady said, "Old lady don't know how to speak English, know to speak Malay a little bit" hihi. 😆
Happy birthday ivana..but steve, i know Malaysian are very friendly with tourists..but you can't just only trespassing their land, farm or border like that..could be dangerous for you and your friends..please careful and take care of yourself ok..
I feel bad for the lady that they took her pineapple as she doesn't have much. I hope they won't trespass on other ppl's property again. Be careful guys you can get hurt because you are not in the city anymore and there are rules you may not be aware so don't take things that don't belong to you.
my best bro steve my best bro ken my my best sis ivana thank you for your huge respect against cpec friendship countries lot of love from your bro viki 💙
The lady at the farm was trying to tell you guys thats her land and farm. You guys are trespassing indeed😊. She could have thought you guys have bad intentions by coming in there.,thus she seem scared. No harm to visit or go around though. But perhaps you guys can ask for permissions. It would be easier that way. Cheers,, have fun though.
In the 70s-80s, my mom would get special requests frm friends & relatives at CNY to make Kek Lapis (Kek Belanda) with fresh ground spices she roasted & blended herself, & sold for $60 RM each
Are they the dry type of Kek Lapis? I remember back in the 80's the Kek Lapis from Indonesia quite popular. And they got some spice taste in them. And dry too compare to Sarawak Kek Lapis which is moist.
Im surprised you guys travelled, just close to my village Kampung Tema few kilometers from this Kampung in the video... Nice to see you guys around here... Cheers
Wow! First of all Happy Birthday Ivanna. Secondly, I love it when you guys go off the beaten path and explore the jungle but be careful because you dont know what you're gonna find there. Just a general caution.

Happy belated birthday, Ivana.
Minutes 27:24, it looks like a shot from a movie. Minutes 29:15 the lady said, "Old lady don't know how to speak English, know to speak Malay a little bit" hihi. 😆
Happy Birthday Ivana....May god bless you and steve
Happy birthday Ivana, what a trip to have during your birthday 🥳🎂
Happy Belated Birthday ivana!!!
Thank you🙏
Mike is truly insane at the crocodile farm haha. The crocodile under the wooden floor seems like wishing that you guys fell down LOL.
"Hmm... Western food" - crocodile 🤣🤣🤣
Happy birthday ivana..but steve, i know Malaysian are very friendly with tourists..but you can't just only trespassing their land, farm or border like that..could be dangerous for you and your friends..please careful and take care of yourself ok..
Yeah that was a fail. Didn’t know we were trespassing. Learning from our mistake.
@@JetLagWarriors Maybe if Ivana and GG were with you guys, that will make the situation more convivial.
I feel bad for the lady that they took her pineapple as she doesn't have much. I hope they won't trespass on other ppl's property again. Be careful guys you can get hurt because you are not in the city anymore and there are rules you may not be aware so don't take things that don't belong to you.
Happy Birthday Ivana...
my best bro steve my best bro ken my my best sis ivana thank you for your huge respect against cpec friendship countries lot of love from your bro viki 💙
Happy birthday Ivana...moga bahagia selalu bersama suami dan kawan².
love to watch your guys' impromptu video...welcome to Sarawak and enjoy your stay guys...
Happy birthday Ivana..may god bless all of u and have a great journey in borneo..
Happy belated birthday Ivana. Just love your impressions on the crocodiles. They were so spot on and hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
I m jealous if found that authentic homemade bag!!!
Happy belated birthday to the most beautiful Ivana.
🤝
Im surprised you guys travelled, just close to my village Kampung Tema few kilometers from this Kampung in the video... Nice to see you guys around here... Cheers
Wow! First of all Happy Birthday Ivanna. Secondly, I love it when you guys go off the beaten path and explore the jungle but be careful because you dont know what you're gonna find there. Just a general caution.
Hahahaha.....Si Mike is crazy in the crocs farm.
LoL Ken devoured that kek lapis like the crocodile devoured chicken 😂
Happy birthday Ivana. Stay happy stay healthy stay blessed!
