I hate the "pinching a nerve on the neck" one. That means none of us are safe. You could legit just be sleeping and oops unbearable pain and no ability to move when you wake up

    • @kafkaesque3709
      @kafkaesque3709 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

That happened to me last month. Nothing as severe as that guy had it but when I woke up in the morning and tried to move my head there was intense pain in my neck and couldn't move it without having the feeling of passing out , I woke up my girlfriend and made her pick my body up . The pain lasted for 3 days but as much as it hurt I just kept stretching my neck muscles by turning left and right and in circles, got better after doing that for 2 days.

It just tingles for me and may physically make it near impossible to keep walking.
Believe me, i tried. I've walked till my broken fibula healed on its own, and carried on cycling with a big patch of my shoulder skin missing from falling off the bike. Those were easier then walking with a pinched nerve. Sometimes it's just impossible to carry on doing whatever it was you were doing when the nerve tingling is bad enough.

When I woke up just a few minutes later I legit could not move or feel my hand. I was FREAKING out just shouting omg omg omg omg. Thankfully sensation returned after like 2 minutes but it was F*CKING scary. I only took one pill of each that night but I endeavor never to do so again, even though it probably isn’t contraindicated. I also never sleep in a strange position.

Coral snakes actually inflict dry bites an estimated 50% of the time, however being bitten in the first place is rare, as they really don't bite unless thoroughly provoked (I guess you stepped on him a little too hard). That being said, it would have been very unlikely that you die within 2 hours, had the bite not been dry.

I had a molar pregnancy. Nearly killed me.
None of the doctors at the ER had any idea what was inside my uterus. I think they thought I was pregnant with aliens or something...
They kinda treated me like a freak show, pulling in random nurses etc to look at my ultrasounds. It felt violating.
Anyways they hospital finally found someone who knew what it was and how to treat it. The new doctor told me if I didn’t get surgery within 48 hours I’d start hemorrhaging, and cancer would start spreading to potentially every single organ in my body. Which would mean years of chemotherapeutic treatments.
I had surgery the next morning at like six am.
I had to do follow up appointments for a entire year. Twice a week for three months, once a week for another three, once every other week for three and once every two weeks.

That last one could have just been the snake that often gets mistaken for the coral snake. The locals usually have a riddle to differentiate the two:
Red Touch Yellow - Kills a Fellow
Red Touch Black - Venom Lack
Yellow Touches Red - Soon You'll Be Dead
Red Touches Black - Friend of Jack

Former snake owner/enthusiast here. The species you’re referring to is a milk snake, and I had this exact thought when he finished the story. Seems almost impossible that he both got bit by a coral snake and had a “dry bite”. Very well could be that he just thought it was a coral due to the shock of being bitten and the adrenaline from being caught in the storm. Or maybe he was just *that* lucky, who knows.

    - Hello
    - Hello, are you (Friend's name)'s mom?
    - Yes, who is it?
    - I'm Santi, just wanted to double check for tomorrow's meeting.
    - Oh yeah, I've got the movie you guys wanted to watch
    - Movie?
    - Yes, you really wanted to watch it.
    - What was your name again?
    - *Says wrong name*
    - ... Wrong number, sorry.
    And I ended the call.

I can't remember the details of it, but they must have assumed or thought me dead as well, because my mother was scheduled for scraping us all out. It was thanks to my mom's doubts that they checked one last time just before they started the procedure, and then discovered I was still alive in there. I could've died helplessly that day to a human error, so every day since is a bonus.

My mom has green eyes, which is pretty rare (1-2% of all humans), but has the brown spot in the middle. My dad has baby blue eyes, which is pretty common. I was born with baby blue eyes, and now my eyes are turning green.. but since they're still turning it's like a gray-ish hazel compound. No one knows how to describe my eyes..
I say "what color are my eyes?"
    "Blue"
    "No, gray"
    "Green!"
    "It's blue green.."
    "Green brown."
    "Grayish blue!"
    "Gray-green, guys."
*I* don't even know my own eye color.
Edit: I'm also allergic to borax. I don't know how common that is.

I was playing Super Smash Bros Brawl when I was a teenager for a long time and got everything but a small fraction of the stickers. It took excruciatingly long to get the rest of them and for the last sticker I tried for hours and hours and hours in the subspace emissary mode and coin launcher, but could not collect it. I eventually got tired of trying for the 100% goal and stopped playing so I could do other things. A few days/weeks later, one of my mom's friends and her son came over. Her son was bored and wanted to play video games. I loaded up the subspace emissary and he joined in. We played the forest level in free play and when the level ended, a notice came up saying that I had collected all of the stickers. He had to go after just one game, but that was all I needed for 100%. This kind of thing is why RNG Collectibles stress me out.

I’ve literally had a black cat cross my path. For context, my mom was driving me to middle school while my brother was staying home due to illness. It was the second day of finals where we take half of our finals on one day and the rest on the second day. We had just left the drive way when out of no where a black cat runs right in front of my mom’s car. Thankfully we didn’t hit it though but it was still pretty crazy to have a literal black cat cross our path. That day of finals, I did significantly better then the previous and I kinda like to think that black cat had something to do with it since I don’t believe that black cats are bad luck

In 7th grade, my mom planned for us to go to San Antonio, Texas. We couldn't find a hotel in San Antonio that was both the quality that we wanted andhad a pool, so we ended up going to Houston, instead.
The second night at the hotel, my sister, nana, mom and I went to the pool, which was freezing. We ended up getting into the hot tub, where a woman and her grandson were. I made small talk with the grandson (his name was Trea), and we actually talked for a pretty good while! We learned a lot about each other, and told each other things that most other people didn't know about us, because we assumed we'd never see each other again.
Trea told me about his family life, his girlfriend, our shared taste in music, the fact that he was from Bandera (also in Texas) and a ton of other things. Some little things, but some deep conversation as well. We even raced each other in the pool, because I said I was faster than him. Before I knew it, my mom and nana were telling me we had to leave. I wanted to ask for his instagram, but my mom would have heard, and she didn't know I had one.
We saw him a couple more times before he left, but we never really had another conversation after that. I wrote down everything I remembered in my journal, because my 13 year old self was determined to remember everything that happened to me for the rest of my life.
Fast forward to the end of the trip: we spent a whole week in Houston, and it was so much fun.
I came back to school, and told people about "the weirdo I met in the hotel pool that I'd never get to see again, but hanging out with him was really cool." The next year, when I was in 8th grade, my parents sent me to a private school, and I developed major homesickness from my regular public school. I had gone to the same school my whole life, and my parents just... took those people away from me.
I endured the year away from my friends, and re-entered my regular school in August as a freshman, desperate for my friends back. I ended up re-connecting with old friends (and more). I made friends with a whole clique of super accepting people, which was really good for me.
In October, my small, Mississippi school, got a new kid named Tank, who was from around San Antonio. He was super cool, MMA fighter, super tall, and he had green hair. I really liked this kid. We became friends, and I followed him on instagram. One day I asked him where we should have gone in San Antonio, had we followed through with our plans to go there. He told me a few places, and I went on with my day.
I entered my class the next morning, opened my laptop, and checked my instagram. Tank had updated his story - this time, including a name that looked super familiar: Trea's girlfriend. It couldn't have been the same person!! Could it?... I started freaking out. All this time, almost two years had gone by, and I might be able to talk to this child again? Maybe...
I waited until the end of my class block, when I met up with Tank, and asked him, "you know that girl... the one that voted on your story, {her name}?"
He said yes, he was friends with her when he lived in Texas.
After talking with Tank for a few minutes, we figured out that Trea and Tank went to the same school (in Bandera, Texas), and that Tank knew both Trea and his now ex-girlfriend (the one he told me about that night in the pool). I contacted Trea's ex-girlfriend, and she gave me his instagram. I contacted him (finally), and we've kept in contact ever since.
So let's recap: I met a guy from Bandera on a spring break trip. I thought I would never talk to him again. Until another guy from Bandera showed up at (of all places), my high school, and knew the guy I thought I'd never see again.

My vision is so good that when I had to read letters off one of those charts to determine how good my eyesight was my doctor literally had me go out down the hallway to see if I could read the large print at the top. I saw I could read it too easily backed up and read the bottom line. She was very shocked and I think she suspected I memorized the bottom line up close so she just moved on. I did not memorize it.

One time at my school they were doing interviews of what kids did over the summer. They started interviewing me and someone came up and made a bizzare loud noise right in my ear. Naturally, without thinking, I turned and shrieked the same noise back to him. I was used to responding to sounds with sounds because that’s what me and my friends do. I went back to the interview not realizing how weird this was but the interviewer and the random guy started laughing.
It wasn’t a real interview, the statistics class was testing how much of the population would get surprised and what wouldn’t. I was the 1% that just yelled back in the dudes face like that’s a normal thing to do.
