Some Gold, Some Clad and a Karen

Had a fun day at the park. Found some cool finds. While we were there a "Karen" came over and started yelling at us, I tried to speak nicely but she just kept cursing at us and making a scene. Unfortunately things like this happen but I don't let them get me down, I just keep on livin' the dig life.

Good hunt. I have rarely ever seen holes left from detectorists, but when I do, it was usually from a kid or someone new to detecting. What I do see all the time is animal damage holes, such as from moles, or dogs, etc. that I usually document on my gopro and add to vids as you did in this video. I also see a lot of damage from sports in the parks, but that is what they are for, parks are for all of us to enjoy. Usually the detecting crowd is older and respectful of any property that we still are allowed to go onto to detect, just like you are. But it only take one Karen who thinks we left that animal hole to run to the park board, or city council and anecdotally make us look like the bad guy and then rules and laws are made to ban us from parks. I have never had a park board or council reach out to us as detectorists to see what we do, how we cut plugs and replace them, and how we can co-exist and enjoy the public parks. For many of us, that is all we have because it is harder and harder to get private permissions. Happy hunting and hopefully no more Karens will be out to bother you.

Same thing happened last night to me with the rain. Got soaked but it passed, changed into a spare sweater and continued on. Big congrats on that awesome 14k bracelet!👍🎉 Makes it all worthwhile in having to suffer the Karen. Definitely something strange going on upstairs in her head. Cool pistol ball score! Have to check the sizing on one I dug a few days ago. Not sure if it’s that or a small musket ball. ATB and happy hunting!

I had that same Karen approach me. She said that what I was doing was illegal. The parks department was driving by and she reported me. They told her I have the right to detect. She was super pissed and cursed me out. I said "goodbye"... She must not have a man.
