- Learn how the University Libraries can support you during your time at UNLV.
The University Libraries are the hub for discovery, creativity, learning, and scholarship at UNLV. As the
main and largest library at UNLV, Lied Library is the physical and intellectual center of campus. In
addition, four branch libraries provide access to specialized materials and offer research assistance and
resources on architecture, health sciences, music, and teacher development. We also provide extensive
online access to our resources and services.
We support your academic, personal, and professional success with up-to-date technology, comfortable
and welcoming learning spaces, expert staff to support you at all levels, and print and electronic research
collections.
You can receive research assistance from librarians in person, or in a virtual meeting space, such as
chat, text, email, and phone. Through the “Meet with a Librarian” Research Consultation Service on our
website, you can consult with a librarian on an individual basis or with a small group. This service tailors
your session to the paper, project, or research assignment you are working on. And we have a subject
librarian available for every major.
As a student, you have access to our Makerspace, where you can design and 3D-print a project, or use
our laser cutter, sewing machine, or vinyl cutter to put the finishing touches on your work. If you’re not
sure how to get started, come by to tinker and prototype in this creative space.
You can also utilize our professional multimedia recording studios to record a video project, mix and
record music, or make a podcast. You can print a research poster on our large-format printers or do post-
production editing on our high-performance PCs and Macs.
Through the University Libraries website, you have 24/7 access to more than 500 library databases. You
can borrow materials from our collections, use a wide variety of digital materials, utilize textbook checkout
for many general education courses like English and math, borrow videos and other materials, and obtain
materials not available on campus through interlibrary loan.

This is great- makes me want to enroll!
Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, none of this is true right now.
