Hi Phil. Isn’t it good that Cherry Red keeps bringing music like this back to the surface. I’ll admit that FP was never a band I particularly connected with, though House Of Pain has punctuated many a long freeway journey that me and the missus have made down the years. This was very much her era, so maybe we’ll get this one like we did with the excellent Ratt box from Cherry Red. I agree about the folded poster. It does cheapen the package and does little to introduce the band to rookies but, as you say, labels have to make budget decisions relative to the likely demand.
Hi Chris, thank you for watching. The lens of time can work wonders of stuff like this. The second album is great but at the time I judged them on a couple of singles and how they looked! Phil
Ooh I'll have to check these guys out! I've been giving more glam/hair metal a chance lately and a lot of it is surprisingly excellent! Cinderella especially, but also Dokken and Ratt.
Thanks for the review, I've been waiting for someone to review this. I grew up in the 80s and love all these bands. As you said there were so many of these bands in the 80s and there were alot that didn't get the recognition that they deserved. I'm with you mate i also hate the hair metal tag. This kind of music deserves more respect than that as there is alot of strong songwriting from these bands and boy we sure got some incredible musicians from that era.
Hi Mark, thank you for watching. Good to know you do not like the ‘Hair Metal’ label either. A lot of these bands were not really heavy metal either. They were just great rock bands with fabulous songs! Phil :)
Your right there Phil, they aren't metal bands so i don't understand why they are labelled hair metal either. I will have to get this box set. I recently purchased skid row the Atlantic years and C.F Winger box sets and both are pretty special. Now all i need is faster pussycat, ratt and cinderella box sets. Keep the good reviews coming i love em.
Hi Phil, when you were speaking of bands wearing scarfs...you forgot 2 mention the originators of the scarf wearing scene...the brilliant New York Dolls 😃🙂👍👊
Faster Pussycat!;) As u have said in this video, in the world of 80s Hard Rock, there are two periods : 1-) Glam Rock/Metal of 81-87 and 2-) Aerosmith inspired Sleaze Rock/Metal of the late 80s. Faster Pussycat fits right in this category. Their first album is a fun sleaze rock'n roll album, while 1992's 'Whipped' is a more mature rock album. Nice review, Phil!
Hi Lucha, thank you for watching. The second album ‘Wake Me When It’s Over’ is my favourite. Some great songs and I should have taken more notice at the time! Phil

Hi Gregory, thank you for watching and your right, they were the first! Phil :)
Knew of Ska but hadn’t heard of Scarf bands before - you learn something new every day! 😉 I’m still catching up with the ‘70s, Phil 🤣
Hi Derek, HaHa, scarf rock, you heard it here first! Phil :)
Outstanding review, Phil. Question - is this CD package remastered? Thanks again for what you do.
Hi Matthew, thank you for watching. All the albums were remastered by Andy Pearce. Thanks Phil
