- Stand up paddling with a new GoPro HD HERO camera (httt://ww.gopro.com) mounted on a 10 ft pole in search of getting video of the Great White shark at San Onofre state beach. I paddle out on my Hobie Stand up paddle board, 250 yards by myself and within minutes a shark surprised me with a swing of his tail, almost knocking me into the water. The shark swam away and another 7' shark appeared and circled my board off and on for 12 minutes. it was an insane experience which i hope to enjoy again soon. chuckpattersonsports.com

at first i thought it was a lemon shark, then i saw the white underneath and was like OMFG A GREAT WHITE! lol. the ending spooked me for a sec. AWESOME JOB DUDE!!!
This video is nuts! Exactly why i bought my gopro, went diving, met a 6 ft bull shark and nothing to show for it... Nice find man!
I love the sound the camera makes when it enters the water.

@Kleptako its a 'fish-eye' lens which allows for a wide viewing angle... Its helpful when you are filming underwater because sometimes its hard to find the subject of you video, especially when you filming above water...
Chuck, Great video indeed. It seems there have been more and more GW spotted of San-O in the past few years, espeically the young ones. Were they both around 7'? If you get more video, please post them. This is cool stuff indeed.
Had a similar experience while diving off of Morro Bay-One swam right by me while coming outta some kelp-it was small like this one (9-10 feet)-was so close I could touch it-circled me once or twice and took off...Magnificent creatures they are.
Nice video of a Great White Shark! It gave me goose bumps just thinking what reaction I would have after noticing a Great White was stalking me. Thanks for sharing your experence and BE Safe...

Have a brother that just got a job working down in the Bahamas and can't wait to visit him and go scuba diving with all the different types of sharks down there.

I camped that weekend in August at San Onofre and surfed there for four days straight. I remember pulling up and watching a guy on a stand up board way out. Somebody said he had footage of a mako. After the trip we got home to see his video went viral.
I just have to say, as a guy with an abundance of fear for the underwater king, I think you're crazy, ha ha. Awesome video.
