I also use washi tape on my canvases and have discovered a way to use the thin washi. When I'm blocking the outside edge of the image, I use the thin washi where the legend is. That way it only covers the excess glue but not the legend.
Hi Katie, I use mostly 5 mm washi which is what you call the skinnies to cover the adhesive around the border of most of my canvases. If there is only a thin line of glue such as in DAC kits, the 5 mm washi covers it without covering too much of the legend. I use 10 mm to section off the cover of the canvas. That was an awesome mystery box for the price. I got in on the on-line warehouse sale, but didn’t order the mystery box. After seeing the beautiful selection of tapes you and Lindsay got, I regret not getting one. I hope they have another warehouse sale next year so I can get one.
Oooh I'd LOVE to see a vid on your pin conversion! I've been messing around with conversions of fridge magnets and pins too but I can't get them as cleanly glued as I'd like. I'd love to see how you do it 😃 **Edit: I'd totally be using that stencil to use dot glue on the cover of a log book and put left over drills on the cover. You'd need to mask it of so you didn't dull the shine of the stencil, but wow a DRAGON LOG BOOK WITH AB'S!!!
Totally understand your coverminder rabbit hole. I have converted MANY buttons in to cover minders. I usually have no fewer than 3 on a project at one time…..wether they are holding back the cover or not!! LOL
You could maybe use some of those journaling accessories in your logbook? Like if you work on a dragon kit, maybe? I love, love, love all the stardust washi! 😍 I use the skinny washi’s to section off my canvas. And I’m glad you made the disclaimer at the end…I was already ready to coordinate a rescue mission.
Hi Katie, thanks so much for sharing your small shop haul with us! So much fun!! I use my skinny washi around the border of my paintings to keep cat hair and fuzzies off my canvas. It looks nice, too. I would love to see a video of you making cover minders from pins! Hope you have fun with your haul. Take care of yourself. 💜 Dawn
I collected pins when I was younger but hardly wear them because they are hard on my clothes. This is a great idea to enjoy them. I would love to see how to make cover minders out of them.
I don't really like sectioning my paintings with the washy tape but I do enjoy taping the border with them! These washy tapes are beautiful but I'm trying not to collect another accessory 😆 And yes! Please do a video of converting the enamel pins to coverminders! I have so many disney pins I would love to know how to do this.
Yes please! I'd love to see how you transform pins to coverminders 😍 Maybe on the new dac canvases due to how little spillage there is with the glue the small washi could work on the edges
I saw your post on FB about the warehouse sale and I also have a great number of Washi tape coming to me lol. I would love to see you do a video to show us how to turn pins into coverminders. I think that would be freaking awesome. ☺️
I use the thin washi to cover the glue on the outside edge of my Diamond paintings. I find that I don’t have issues with it peeling up as much. Then I use the thicker ones to section my canvas.
I love coverminders! By the way may I suggest you do a small shop haul from Dakota Deatwiler's Etsy? She has a beautiful octopus pin and lots of minders of her artwork, plus she just released a calendar. Lots of fun stuff and she's such a cool person. Would love to see you do that video 🙂💓
Please show us how you convert pins into cover minders. I’ve seen some cute pins that I’d love to have except I’m not a pin person, but as cover minders…much easier to put in the cart. If you have a paper logbook, you could use the skinny washi to “frame” pictures of your finished paintings.
I prefer the skinny washi tape now, they only cover one line/row of symbols when sectioning off. I got a great deal for them on Amazon 🤗🎀👍🏽 Also, I'd definitely be interested in a vid showing how to make cover minders. I'm working on one of my nieces to come over to the Diamond Art Darksiiiiiiide, and making these could be a great cover story (pun not intended, but I'll leave it here anyway)! 😆🤭
I LOVE it! I’ve been curious as to how to convert enamel pins into coverminders for awhile! I think it would be fun to do it with vintage brooches as well! The Midwest is full of antique shops lol 😀
Aww Katie!! Your reaction to that washi tape was the TRUTH!! 🥰 I felt that! 🤗 Also, maybe bordering your paper logbook page to surround your notes/sticker/etc, with the same (or smaller version of the same) washi you border your painting with could be an idea? 🤔
Love this! I found Simply Guilded because of you and absolutely love their quality and patterns for sectioning and outlining my DP. I also got the mystery box but the one with 120 😳. At first I also wondered how to use the thin ones but I recently kitted up Lullaby Dragon from Enablers outpost (also because of your unboxing vide 😁). This painting only had a small overhang of poured glue and thought why not try the thin tape. OMG it worked perfect and has not lifted at all! Just thought I’d share that if you want to try that. Thank you so much for all that you do and your videos always bring a smile to my face.
Hi there! No, I definitely don’t put the washi tape directly on the glue. I actually put it on the plastic cover, and then use scissors or a ceramic blade pen to cut out the sections to work on.
I got the bigger mystery grab box, but somehow I think our boxes must have been packed by the same person or something haha I have maybe 1/3 of the same washis u got, and some of the washi are the 15mm version of ur 10mms, and others are 10mm version of ur 15mms hahaha
I would like to see you convert a pin 📍 into a coverminder.
I also use washi tape on my canvases and have discovered a way to use the thin washi. When I'm blocking the outside edge of the image, I use the thin washi where the legend is. That way it only covers the excess glue but not the legend.
I do the same thing!!! It works great!
Yeeeesss!!! PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON CONVERTING PINS INTO COVER MINDERS KATIE!! I have a ton of disney pins I want to convert!
WOWZA!!🤩🤩 washi for daysss I love it!
I would also love to see a video on how you convert your pins!
What a fun video! Yes please would like to watch you make the cover minders what a great idea
Yes! I'd love to see a video on transforming pins to magnets. I'd love to try to do it myself.
Hi Katie. Thanks for a lovely video today. Yes I would really like to see how you convert a pin into a cover minder video. 😊❤

I converted a fabulous pin from Disneyland. It’s Tinkerbell sticking out her tongue with her thumbs on the sides of her head. So cute.
I’d love to see a coverminder pin video. I’ve been thinking of doing this as I have trouble finding minders I really like.
I collected pins when I was younger but hardly wear them because they are hard on my clothes. This is a great idea to enjoy them. I would love to see how to make cover minders out of them.
I use the smaller ones as my sectioning of lines and the thicker ones for the border.
I love these! Id also like to see how to convert the pins.
I don't really like sectioning my paintings with the washy tape but I do enjoy taping the border with them! These washy tapes are beautiful but I'm trying not to collect another accessory 😆 And yes! I would love to to see a conversion video. I have been wanting to convert pins to coverminders, but don't know how.
Yes please! I'd love to see how you transform pins to coverminders 😍

Yes, I would like to see the pin to coverminder conversation.
I too really love making my own cover minders out of pins. Thank you for sharing these great items 😀
I love the skinny ones for sectioning my canvas
Awesome haul! I'm so sad I missed out on this mystery box!!
(I saw the thumbnail and immediately had washi envy😂🤣)
This was so much fun this video. I would love to see how to convert a pin 📌📍 into a cover minder. 😃
I would love to see pins turned into cover minders.
I saw your post on FB about the warehouse sale and I also have a great number of Washi tape coming to me lol. I would love to see you do a video to show us how to turn pins into coverminders. I think that would be freaking awesome. ☺️
I would love to see how to covert pins into coverminders!!
Yes please do a pin conversion video!
I use the thin washi to cover the glue on the outside edge of my Diamond paintings. I find that I don’t have issues with it peeling up as much. Then I use the thicker ones to section my canvas.
Please do the cover minder video. Love your washi tapes....I haven't used any of mine yet...but I need them....lol
I really like to use the skinny washi tape for sectioning. Then use the thicker ones for the outside of the canvas.

I use the skinny washi tapes for section off canvas only skinny ones for that.
I really want to see you change the pins to coverminders
Catching up on videos. Would love to see converting pin to coverminders. I know this is DP adjacent but no DP pens? Katie are you ok? 😁
Aww Katie!! Your reaction to that washi tape was the TRUTH!! 🥰 I felt that! 🤗 Also, maybe bordering your paper logbook page to surround your notes/sticker/etc, with the same (or smaller version of the same) washi you border your painting with could be an idea? 🤔

When you say you use washi to section off your diamond painting, do you put the washi directly over the glue? I'm new to this craft. Thank you.
Hi there! No, I definitely don’t put the washi tape directly on the glue. I actually put it on the plastic cover, and then use scissors or a ceramic blade pen to cut out the sections to work on.
Are your nails acrylic, press on or did you do them yourself I love those if press one where did you get them
They’re the Kiss: Impress brand! You can get them online or from stores like Target, CVS, etc.
Iridescent ink washi? Yes please!!! Puffins! Not penguins. ❤️🇨🇦
I would like to see the pin conversion please
When are you opening your washi shop?! 😆
I got the bigger mystery grab box, but somehow I think our boxes must have been packed by the same person or something haha I have maybe 1/3 of the same washis u got, and some of the washi are the 15mm version of ur 10mms, and others are 10mm version of ur 15mms hahaha
I bought enamel pins and keychains from artist Kurtis Rykovich and turned them into minders
Where do get your flat small magnets
I got mine from Amazon! They have a lot of different size options.
@@DiamondsandWashi thanks!!
Yes yes yes
Yesssss
How you get the wasi myster box
It was available during their online warehouse sale (which has since ended). I recommend following them on social media to see when they do the next!
♥
Katie, is this video a cry for help? the diamond painting pens are missing? 😀
