As a native East Tennessean I love when you visit the area.
DUDDDDEEEE Erwin is my hometown....been subscribing to the channel for a few years now. pretty cool to see you do a video here 👌
I live in Knoxville and have 2 friends- mutually exclusive- that are from Erwin. I always thought that odd for a couple of reasons given it’s such a small town!
I was born in raised in Sulphur Springs and went to high school at Dainel Boone so cool to see the fossil site on your channel.
Hi Jacob 👋 how exciting to see the total eclipse in Buffalo. It is a sad story about Mary😢 I heard of it but didn't know the entire story. Thank you for taking us on your journeys. Everyone needs rest! Have a great trip 😊😊
Once again reminding you of the Wytheville UFO fest in early June!
The city of Indiana Pennsylvania is about an hour East from you right now and there is a Jimmy Stewart Museum❤
Thankyou Jacob for taking us here❤❤❤❤
Shameful about the elephant while they let real criminals go free. God bless you, Mary the elephant.
They actually discovered the fossils when doing road construction my first year in highschool.
I enjoyed April Fool's Day when ThinkGeek was around - they would actually make some of the prank gifts - like the Tauntaun sleeping bag.
Smell the paleontologists? They might not like that too much! 🤣🤣🤣
As far back as I can remember, I've always been a Dr. Pepper guy. Don't know how it happened, but I am. Also, during the total eclipse of the sun, keep a sharp eye out for weird talking plants. They're bad news and can lead to a lot of trouble.
Pittsburgh: mattress factory, Warhol museum, Randyland, bicycle heaven, Heinz history center.
Good for the town. I am glad that they have allowed Mary's ghost to smile again.
Great video Jacob let's hope the weather is good for the Eclipse. Safe and and take care my friend.
I'm sure like me you got sad at the realization that Cryptid Mountain theme park was a fools day prank - I got so excited for a couple of minutes!! Safe travels!!
There’s also a Dr. Pepper grave in Bristol Tn / Va that rivals that of the one in rural retreat.
Heading to Syracuse in a few days myself for the eclipse! Feels like everyone I or follow is traveling for this.
What a awesome video Jacob thank you for explaining the history on the place and things you been and seen you the best I hope you and Jenni have safe travels
The sculptural Brick wall outside the Fossil Site was awesome, loved how they worked the sculpts of the animals into the wall. Pittsburgh: The National Aviary and Pittsburgh Zoo were both great.
Oh my god, don’t blame the elephant. that is horrible that they did that😢!, Good they changed their ways to help elephants.
Love your channel. Love Jen she seems so sweet! Yes! You need more breaks. I also agree with you about the April Fools’ day. I just ignored social media that day.
You need to get one of the change holders that waitresses used to wear around their waists. (To hold your pennies and quarters). I hope nothing i sent you was an April fools prank, I don’t think it was.
That story about poor Mary was very interesting. I had to do a bit more research 😢.
Jacob is out here putting in the work!! I can not think of a more dedicated Road Warrior on TH-cam. Thanks for putting in the hard work and bringing us along.
When I lived in St Louis and worked at animal parks for the World Bird Sanctuary, our (late and beloved) director knew a lot about other animals, not just birds. "Never piss off an elephant," he once told us. "They're big, but perfectly coordinated and very agile, as well as highly intelligent. They know everything that is going on around them at every second. I once knew an elephant trainer that was walking their elephant back into the elephant house, next to the elephant as they passed through the doorway. The elephant sideswiped through the doorway just a little, enough to pin the trainer against the door frame and kill them."
Safe travels. I'm hearing that the places in the path of the eclipse are going to be crazy busy, especially in the northeast. Hope you are okay from the severe storms that passed through there. Looking forward to seeing this leg of your adventures.
I'm a dork. I enjoy wearing t-shirts related to an event or concert I go to. I also like checking what t-shirts other people are wearing.
Jacob, you need one of those pressed penny books, so you can keep all your pressed pennies organized. 😂
Have good week Jacob don't let others take your joy I love your and Jenny's videos keep posting and y'all both take care. ❤
Totally agree with you about April Fool's Day. You definitely deserve a few days off. Love the yarn bombing!
As a hugeeee animal lover, i have to say that hearing Mary's story was very heartbreaking....that poor sweet elephant deserved better....ppl are so cruel..😢😢😢
That guy got what he had coming
Hello from a fellow Western New Yorker. 😊 Stay safe in your travels.
When or it if it opens you should go to the rotary jail in Crawfordsville Indiana. I want to go there one day and see it
Dang wish I knew you were here .. that’s where I live very very tiny town
Dang you are prepared for the roadside attractions! Dont forget the Mold-O-Rama wax figure machine, those were always my thing as a kid. I was suprised when you found one a few videos ago, I didn't know those machines were still around! Safe and happy travels!!
Bicycle heaven is a fantastic museum on the north side of Pittsburgh.
Yes eclipse!!! A must see! We are in Ohio north, so we are all set to see it. Hope you get a good view. It will be dark for 3 mins+
We're all just along for the ride buddy. You set the pace as you see fit. 😊
BTW, there is a warning out about not using the Solar Eclipse glasses if you bought them from Amazon or Temu.
I think that staff that the Mary statue is carrying is supposed to be a Dr. Seuss reference (the clover with the Whoville dust speck from Horton Hears a Who).
Would love for you to do another Live Stream. Your the coolest. Love you Jacob The Carpetbagger♥️
Great vid today thank you
For taking us ❤❤❤❤
Great video. Jacob. The story of Mary made me sad.
I've usually agreed with Jenn that you don't usually wear one of the band's previous t-shirt designs when you go see them in concert. But I've seen people do that more often in recent years. I have also purchased a t-shirt at the souvenir stand, then pulled it on over whatever I was already wearing, so I wouldn't lose it. Comments, friends and CB fans??
I've never believed in that rule, myself. I even looked at Reddit threads about that once, and the vast majority of commenters agreed with us. Some said that wearing a unique band t-shirt that was a limited run in some way brought compliments and great conversations with fellow fans. I say wear what you want! 😊👕
I adhere to the sacred concert rules:
1. Don't wear a shirt of the band you're going to see
2. Don't listen to the band you're going to see during the journey to the venue
Putting in a shirt you bought at the show is ok, but I usually buy merch on the way out.
There are exceptions to the shirt rule tho. If you are going ti see Metallica, Slayer or Iron Maiden, it's almost obligatory to wear a shirt of the band, preferably the oldest, most faded shirt you have.
Of course, none of these rules are to be taken seriously and everybody should wear whatever the f they want to a show. 😊
WELCOME ❤ to my home state Jacob...not stare. 😂
The town is decorated to honor Dr. Suess...yarn decoratations!
What a fun trip I would recommend the Andy Warhol museum or the Carnegie museum of natural history
Jacob! If you’re in Pennsylvania… go to Philly this weekend for Wrestlemania!!!!!
Well another wonderful trip Jacob. I really enjoy these trips ,because of you I get to see things that I would never have the oppertunity. & Jacob my husband is a DR. PEPPER drinker as I am a Coke Zero & Coke drinker. Pepsi 's ok but it doesn't give me the pep I need like Coke does! & when you told the story of Mary the elephant it broke my heart. How cruel they killed her. I mean I know what she did was terrible but the trainer was to blame & i guess they didn't take that into account. I don't know if back then they had santuary for animals. Safe travels & keep on trucking my friend.I always enjoy the RIDE!
Have been to the Gray fossil site very good
WOW the Mary the elephant. Was interesting - tragic though! Thanks for that
Hay Jacob! Just an fyi, remember the indoor carousel you went to in Kingsport? They have a penny press machine too. I collect the Pennie’s as well. I can send you them if you want them. I live nearby.
I enlisted in the army in PA. You should see if there's any livestock auctions going on around there while you're in the area. Even if you're not bidding it's fun to watch and there's usually food.
Morning Jacob thanks for sharing this, Mary the elephant 🐘 would be great to show Jenny Penny it in person. To see her reaction. 😊 Thanks for sharing this information 🤓📸👍 Totally Eclipse of the heart lol 😊
Speaking of cryptids, Jacob, have you ever heard of the Piasa bird that has its legends rooted around Alton, IL?
I like that bear, 'a towering prehistoric monstrosity' haha
Hi Jacob.. Poor Mary how sad..!!! I love you keeping up the E.UM rule.. A good start to your trip. Thanks to you my fav cryptid is the Flatwoods Monster I think he/she is so cool you can get away with wearing Flatwoods anywhere...!!! XXX
Good Morning Jacob and Jennifer 🙋🏽.❤
How about you come to Watertown NY to the Pearl st Pub. We are cooking burgers ...having general fun while ruining our eye sight.
Please visit the National Aviary while in Pittsburgh! We love to watch your zoo, aquarium, etc. videos! It’s a very fun place! Thanks!
Hi Jacob! Jen and yourself are more than welcome to come observe the eclipse at my house. I live just outside of Buffalo. We’ll even smoke a brisket or something for the occasion!😂 you need to go to the Marilla General Store or better yet Letchworth the Grand Cannon of the East. Jen’s probably been there that’s another good place to view it. Niagara Falls will probably be nuts.😮
Good morning Jacob, gr8t seeing u. Have a good day 💖
You should get one of those belt change dispensers for your pennies and quarters.
Appalachian Caverns, right off the highway is fun. Near Bristol.
They should have made their motto; VIRGINIA IS FOR LOVERS OF THINGS and also drop the hart shape in the letter O.
The restraint it would have taken to not drop at least one total eclipse of the heart reference lol
Sad about Mary the elephant but glad they honor her❤❤❤❤
I just got back from the “long lonesome road” stopped at the St. Louis wax museum and The Oz Museum in Kansas getting smashed pennies from there!
Good Afternoon " YA ALL " Jacob..!!!!
27:15 Please go! I would love to see a video of this museum 🥺
Love to see you at Spookala this Saturday at Tampa Fairgrounds!!!!
hey jacob! pittsburgh has great locations and museums. i went to art school in the 90s there and seen what it had to offer. try the monroeville mall where they filmed day of the dead, or the graveyard out of the city where night of the living dead was filmed. i am sure there are many more spots since i was there, enjoy and thanks for sharing!
Are you on 81? My Aunt use to call it eyeball highway, wasn't nothing to see for miles on that road but rocks. Haven't been down that road in 40 years. Safe trip and you and Jenn have fun in New York.
When your in PA you should check out Benezete in elk county, it's where all the elk roam. It's not far from Pittsburgh,
Pittsburgh is right up the road from me.
There's the Titanic exhibit going on right now at the science center and there's also Randyland.
It looks like the fossil museum is associated with a University. I graduated from Rowan University in New Jersey in 2022 and we have our own dig site that is getting its own museum right now. I think I heard around 3 universities have the same distinction as Rowan's Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park, so I guess Eastern Tennessee is one of them?
My husband just bought me a 🐘 stuffed . Horton . Dr Suess .today. From Kohls.
Rip Mary 🌺🌸🐘🌺🌸
Carrie Blast Furnace is a pretty cool place to check out while youre in pittsburgh.
Carpetbagger back in the Car , ..once again.
I agree with you Jacob. I can't stand April Fool's Day.... Let's have some fun today though!
Jacob- as you are heading back to upstate New York, you should check out the Curtis Museum in Hammondsport!
At least with all those pennies and quarters you can officially say you aren't nickel and diming your way around 😅😅😅😅
The fact that elephants were hanged is sick, the fact that people paid to watch is disturbing. This is something I wish I hadn't learned about today
I had heard that there's likely to be cloudy skies during the eclipse, everywhere but Oklahoma and Kansas... Don't know how they determined that so far out, but I hope for your sake that they're wrong.
Yea I find it annoying, but it seems every time there's something interesting happening in astronomy, it ends up being cloudy 😕. Full moon eclipse, meteorite shower, total solar eclipse, NOPE not going to see it because it's going to be cloudy or storming BAH! SO annoying!
There's a bunch of groovy museums the inclines get a primanti brothers sandwich that's in the strip district I'm planning a trip to Pennsylvania within the next couple months I intend to see alot 😀
I TOTALLY AGREE with you about April Fool's Day. TOTALLY! It's not fun and I never "celebrate" it. 😁
I saw that Mr. Pibb joke coming all the way down Interstate 64.
That's an exciting adventure to see the total solar eclipse in Buffalo Jacob! My friends are going to see it too. Hope you have a great day today! 😊😊
the story of Mary makes my heart hurt and my spirit sick.
According to the weather right now, you may need to travel further NE for clear skies.
Believe it or not, that's my sister's birthday, April 1st.
If you plan to go back south after your trip for Solar Eclipse. Stop at Shady Maple Smorgasbord for a tasty meal.
Dude! Wrestlemania is about to blow up in Philly!
Ride the Dequenne Incline, beautiful view at top!
While in the Pittsburgh area, you should go to Evans City Cemetery, about 30 miles north, where they filmed Night of the Living Dead!
After talking all Dr Pepper .. .I thought you said Mountain Dew Cemetry
People really are horrible. That poor elephant.
