Take a look at the Scorpion R1 carbon. It is quieter, has speaker pockets, and is almost as light as the AGV. And, it's about half the price! I was a long-time Shoei guy until I tried on the R1 carbon. LCC in Liberty keeps them in stock.
I’ve got a shoei and a recent Rossi Pista. The Shoei feels more comfortable to wear than the Pista. The Pista head shape is a bit more round than the Shoei. I don’t really like the Pista visor lock system. You have to push a button at the center to unlock it. Always fiddling with it… And yes.. it’s loud…. Bought earplugs because you just can’t wear the helmet without them. The Pista really looks awesome… I prefer the Rossi or Mir ones. Been thinking about getting the new Rossi Assen or the 2022 soleluna. The damn things get more expensive with every new design they release. Latest ones are €1800 euros… you get 2 MM93 Shoei for that money…🤷♂️…

I went from a Shoei RF-1200 to an AGV Corsa R (Pista R) , it's louder because there's more airflow (which is better for me when riding SoCal summers) . Despite that, it's in another league VS the Shoei. The design of the helmet is aerodynamic, you can feel a significant decrease in buffeting when riding, feels like the helmet just cuts through the air. The inside helmet material is also softer, plushier feeling than the Shoei's. I'm definitely a convert. AGV all the way.
I own a Pista GP RR, an Arai Corsair X, HJC RPHA 11 Pro, shoei x14 and x15. The agv pista is HANDS DOWN the worst of the group. I’ll be honest, the X14/15 is at the top of game when it comes to ventilation, aerodynamics, features and comfort. The only thing the agv slightly edges it out on is looks. And it’s slight. I mean even small things like the visor having multiple detents so you can prop it open in multiple positions is clutch. The pista is only open or closed. Then the pista has vents but you cant open and close them as you see fit, you have to insert plugs. Kinda sucks when you’re riding and it gets chilly or starts to rain. Weird for a $1200+ helmet. If this is a top of the line RACE helmet why do you see nothing but Shoei X15, Arai Corsair X, Suomy, and X-Lite with racers at the Isle of Man TT. Makes you wonder
I love the Pista. The aesthetics alone put it above so many helmets however it’s not very accommodating for all your creature comforts as it is a race helmet. If you want the look and quality design Alpinestars SR-10 is the way to go. Comes with a race spoiler wide range of adjustability and is a badass overall helmet that can accommodate all your needs. (Quietness, commsets, go pros etc)
Lets face it, people who buy Pista only buy it to make sure they look as "cool" as possible on a motorcycle, that's the ONLY reason to buy that helmet at $1800, you're basically a woman at this point flashing your expensive purse.
You need to use IEMs (earbuds) with this helmet instead of speakers. They'll just replace the earplugs and you'll have the audio quality you never imagined it's possible in a helmet. I use custom molded IEMs with my cardo Cardo, but any universal fit IEMs will do. The only downside is that you'll have to either tuck the wire under your jacket or to get a very short one.

My problem is that this is the only helmet i can ride elbow down and not have the horizon in sight. Because when you are down there, under the bike so much, you need all that height of the Pista GP visor. I tried even the new Alpinestars R10 of Marin's - i can still see 'the roof' :((( and i cried because was so much confy inside and hoisewise :((
It's a shame AGV don't sell the Corsa R anymore it's practically identical to the Pista and so much cheaper. It's quieter, the vents can open/close without needing those plugs, it uses the same visor as the Pista and the Pista spoiler also fits the Corsa (even though AGV told me it doesn't). The Corsa doesn't have the hydration system but I'm guessing about 99% of Pista owners don't use it (you can buy the Pista lining with the hydration tube to fit the Corsa too).

The idea of the gp rr is a full race bred helmet they are FIM approved it’s obviously meant for people riding at the highest level it’s just like someone buying a lambo over a m5 and it’s usually recommend to ride with earplugs
While we can all agree, this helmet isn't a mechanically "one size fits all" item. We should also accept the fact that everyone does not have A LOT a disposable income.
The pista looks great, but all I’ve heard is how terrible the helmet is. I’ll stick with arai half the price great look if you don’t mind the egg shape and one of the most trusted helmets out there🤷🏼♂️no reason to pay double for just the looks unless you got it like that. But I’ll say again the pista looks so go

It's a race helmet. People buy it because their friends have one. They do not do their research. You can't have the same expectations for this helmet as you would an HJC. Racers need as much airflow as possible so the noise will be there.
I allways wear earplugs. I also play in a band an d cant live without them . we often ride the whole day long tours and my head would be destroyed if i have all the windnoise all day
If you want quality saty away from x-lite they are shit, bought one and its my biggest regret. They creak and rattle the clearcoat has air bubbles and the list goes on
I'm pro shoei but also pro get the best fit u possibly can for your melon I agree 100 ear buds dig in causing discomfort on long rides currently want a Cardo but torn between need and want here
No I'm sponsored with cardo now and they sent me one so I really want to use that, I also never really been a fan of running basic ear buds cause of how the helmet pushes it deeper into your ears when you put it on
I was just about to buy one tonight and glad I sought out a video. Comms is important and not being able to add the speakers is no go.
U can fit intercom into the helmet. Search on TH-cam. U put the speakers inside the padding, just order one size larger

@@sashadrain6369 would say my xlite 803 RS is much better quality than my GP RR. Only downside by the xlite is the visor, that you cant lock it.

I would say yes even if it was being ridden hard, the bike can take a lot, and will lost a long time with good maintenance.
Yes, absolutely. 4 hrs straight on mine, stopped only for gas. My buddy rides his from San Jose to San Diego once a month, no problems
