Very well done. An animation is worth a thousand words. Can't wait for the next installment

Very good study of the action at Gettysburg. However, Vincent’s Bde was important at LRT, but not the only Bde that held that hill. Weed’s Brigade was also instrumental in holding the LRT position.

Two of my Confederate ancestors who were in the 20th Georgia Infantry Regiment part of Bennings brigade of Hoods division fought at Devils Den at Gettysburg

Funny how that increases your interest! My wife's great-great grandfather was a lieutenant on Buford's staff. 3rd Indiana. Joined as a private, ended the war as a major.

Fight on little round top was 3 hours? I've always heard it was over in less than an hour. All of Longstreet's attack was three hours, no?

Well it depends first on how you define stop and start times, and then on who your sources are for the times, yes? It's all a matter of opinion, and I'm not sure the duration is that important. I can see "45 minutes", depending on how you define things. Sure. Who knows? With respect...
My current project is an animated map of the LRT fight that shows regiments, so it's more tightly-focused than my day two map. The current version of that LRT map starts at 4pm and ends at 7pm FWIW. I'll have stronger and more-informed opinions about duration when I'm done with that. Stay tuned. Best wishes, no worries.

great info! But you have got to stop identifying Blue brigades (union troops) with Red arrows. Its not like you use blue arrows/circles to identify red confederate brigades!

I know I am in minority but I believe Sicles did the wrong thing but it was good that he did. Otherwise Little Round Top falls and Meade loses the battle. Also Meade should have paid more attention in the lead up. He was inexperienced commander.

Never let your enemy pick the ground for you. better to break contact, and pick ground of your choosing. Worrying about men being demoralized by a seeming retreat is foolishness(Lee), reported to have said, in books I have read. I don't know if true. His men would have done what they were told to do, as they did, even when they thought it suicidal. he was supposed to be ill, possible heart attack or stroke, maybe, but he seemed in a hurry to just get it over with. Without Jackson, he was without his trusted right arm. it was a fatal mistake to fight the Union on that ground at all, much less how it developed. he should have known better. that is why I believe he was in physical, mental, and spiritual distress, and moved without thinking like his old self, as he was earlier in the war. Exhaustion and weakness from his malady's played a part in this, I believe. the cloud of war and providence led to things being as they were.
