I have no doubt in a mind that a player who can pilot Naoto (Blazblue) is perfectly capable of guiding a newcomer through the complexities of Yu Gi Oh summoning rules.
Another way to present someone an archetype is asking them what kind of monsters do they like the most: Dragon, Spellcasters, Machine and so on. This helps a lot if there's some personal preferences, like "I'm a furry and I want a deck with cute animals" can lead to decks like Fur Hire, Melffy. Or even "I like giant robots" can lead to decks like Drytron, Super Quant. You can even pick a religious person that wants to play the game and purge the evil inside, show them a Lightsworn or any other Fairy Type. Depending on their personal preferences or the monster types they like, we can move on to archetypes related to them, how do they work and the requirements to build one. Dragging a person to Yu-Gi-Oh! and teaching them how to fight against meta can create some sort of "complex of inferiority" because they might get attached to an specific deck people categorizes as Low/Mid Tier and always stays on the bottom of the line. You were a good tutor, Koe. For sure you learned a lot and is able to teach other people, which amazes me the most and makes me want to thank you. I hope Maddie can invest a little on the game, learn some new stuffs with the in-game tutorials, challenge herself on Solo Mode and studying the archetypes she's interested the most. Surely mastering an archetype can make her aware of the game's general mechanics, so if she ever pick other archetypes, the learning experience with them will be drastically reduced thanks to the experiences she had.
@@flaccidpancake336 makes it even funnier when you realize that in ocg fairy type is angel type and fiend type is demon type so dark angels and light demons
Hope it goes good for her. Yugioh is very difficult at the beginning. Live twins should be a decent deck for beginners. Swordsoul could also be a great deck as it can be easy to learn and then with more skill becomes more powerful.
Also a newcomer (been playing solidly for only about 2 months), everything is super overwhelming but when you see some staple cards and what they do (ash etc.) it gets easier. Also solo mode is not too bad for seeing how some things work (legit got me playing my current monarch deck). but yugioh is so massive that every day I'm still saying 'wtf does THAT do'. So many archetypes
Awesome Video. I started with traptix because the game kept throwing them at me at the beginning when I started with Master Duel. I can see why some People don't like them too much but I actually enjoy them a lot. Especially when I can keep saying nope to everything the opponent throws out with my traps. I'm exited to see how Lord of the Heavenly Prison will buff my deck
Koe, how could you, man? We pendulum players are in shortage of pendulum enthusiasts among the new players, man. 😭 Cringe joke aside, glad to see you're back, Mr. Streamer. Pepega out!
Koe sky strikers is way harder to play because you actually need to use your brain and need to know your opponents decks as well to counter them that not easy at all . If anything let her use a simple fusion deck first like dragon maid or blue eyes than move her up to synchro to xyz to link . But if she want to tried a certain archetypes than that fine she just need to figure out the tech from that theme deck which will override anything I said lol.
Talking about flexing, well I do that too much. I main archetype is destiny HERO OTK. And overkill is my motto. If I can do 40k+, I will. I will not stop at 8k DMG, I will keep going. I’ve got 2 1-card OTKs and basically any 2+ cards, uninterrupted, is an OTK. My current record was around 44k thru zombie world + bollardroch. My buddy was begging me for mercy. I gave him none.
What's with all the hate on Pendulum? Makes me sad. :( True Draco, Eldlich, Adamancipator, and Drytron are way less fun to play against. PEND BEST DECK _copium_
All these decks get hate, and are well deserved for it, with absolutely ridiculous summoning chains that I literally fall asleep to, and just plain overpowered and annoying cards that literally control the field from turn 1 and you need floodgates or hand traps in every hand to even contend. I’d honestly never play any of them just from how ugly and time wasting they’re to play. And just plain way to much bs on the cards themselves I’m not even trying to read or use them Lol. But most already know that and talk about it but still use it otherwise they’re losing to meta decks people google and build, I hate seeing the same deck repeatedly.
"Sky Strikers are pretty strong." Me: *won 5 matches against Sky Strikers with Live Twins + Unchained* Also me: Know your place inferior waifus. one of the games I played had DPE and they still lost lmao kekw
Actually the Pokémon TGC is the cheapest physical TCG's (at least individual card wise) and Yu-Gi-Oh is one of the more expensive physical TCG's (again at least individual card wise possibly only being beat out or tied by Flesh and Blood and Commander format decks in Magic). As A Digimon TCG player I can say that Pokémon TCG more simple and straightforward than Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh but equally as deep as both. I have tried to learn Yu-Gi-Oh a few times and I just don't get it. I like watching Distant Coder's videos he is a Judge for tournaments. He does a series on his channel called does X player know Y archetype rulings. The fact that even pro tournament winning players can't and did not get 10/10 ruling questions right when they went on the show, and the fact that most Yu-Gi-Oh TH-camr's on average only got around 6/10 ruling questions right when they went on the show. Tell me that Yu-Gi-Oh can be a legalese ruling nightmare that I can't wrap my head around. No key words only massive walls of "problem solving" card text where there is a big difference between a : and ; makes my head hurt. Worse are there are a hand full of rulings where it depends on the head judge of your event because the true ruling has not ben confirmed by Konami. Then there are rulings in the exact opposite direction. IE you would think X ruling would go X way because it is like X older past or similar category rulings but no Konami said otherwise so it is Y, and this makes Yu-Gi-Oh probably the hardest game to learn IMO change my mind.
It is a mess, was pretty decent at calling how the ruling went... Then they changed up some stuff again, then I retired and don't know how the current state of the game is 🤣
to be honestly i find htat most people actually get tripped up by the simpler rulings and card interactions rather then the hard ones because the more complicated ones is for specific scenarios rather then common ones usually and also because the really confusing rules or ones that works contradictory to common sense because konami says so seems to be mostly on older cards that no one uses anymore rather then newer ones like theres some guy who complained and tried to justify that theres no way someone can tell that maxx c cannot send itself to the graveyard activate its effect if there is a card in play like dimensional fissure with an effect to banish every card that would go into the grave because nowhere on the cards does it says so . . . yea let that sink in
@@YukiFubuki. Can I use Appointer of the Red Lotus after I use King of the Sky Prison yes or no? No one knows 100% sure it can depend from event to event and head judge to head judge. Fellow traptrix enjoyer here, Lord of the Heavenly Prison helps A TON but we still have to manage resources properly. We can fight even more now.
The easiest way to describe Pendulums is that theyre essentially two cards in one.
Yeah, they can act as both spell and monster cards.
Geez this was a pretty decent guide in general as an old school yugioh player. All those extra deck summon methods can be super overwhelming.

i've said it before in the streams, but i'll say it again, the design of the Live Twins reminds me of Pikamee
