I watched quite a few of your videos at the end of my pregnancy with my first son. I am so glad I found you! I just gave birth to him a little over 24hrs ago, unmedicated and in my home. I was so present and mindful during each contraction and labor phase that I told my husband minutes before I pushed him out, “I think he’s really low and ready to come out, but I’m second guessing because this feels to easy to be right before the pushing stage”. He agreed that it seems like we aren’t far enough along. Wrong! My midwife got to me maybe 6 minutes before his head popped out. It was magical, intense, healing and SO bonding for my husband, baby and I. If I could say the main things that kept me in the best head space and set me up for such a positive experience, it would be: 1. Visualizing what each contraction is doing. Opening cervix and pushing baby down and out into my arms. However you picture it that gives you a solid and positive mental image works wonders! 2. Breathwork!! The 4 in 6 out was all I did throughout until I could tell baby was being pushed down. I naturally went to more of the “j” breath by the end of active labor/early transition. I knew how to do the quick breathe when I felt the “ring of fire” and didn’t tear or have any trauma to any of my parts. Only a few hrs postpartum and I have pretty much been wiping normally-slightly more gentle just given the circumstances. Watch Bridgets breathwork videos! She explains the differences and functions of these breaths beautifully. 3. Make sure you and your partner/birth coaches/ whoever will be with you during labor are on the same page and that you can trust them fully! Honestly this should be #1. I had full confidence in my husband that he was aware and looking out for the safety of baby and I. I was able to let go of all fears or worries and simply focus on surrendering to what my body was doing and intuitively following its lead, knowing that I was safe and in the best, most watchful hands. Lastly, Ina Mays guide to childbirth was a very helpful book that first opened my mind to what I am capable of and what birth should be like. I highly recommend that book as a starting point for any pregnant mamas desiring to get educated but not knowing where to start. Bottom line: YOU can do this! I had my first baby in a hospital with all the pain killers/interventions minus a c-section. I said for months after I had her “I COULD NOT have had an unmedicated birth. It was too much!” A 180° mindset shift later and I just had the birth experience of my dreams and was in the drivers seat the whole time. Take courage and believe in the power of your mind-body connection! And thank you Bridget for educating so many women on what we have been built for- birth!
Thanks for the heads up about breathing through the ring of fire! 😊 I’ve had two unmedicated (in terms of pain relief) births before but I am still nervous about the “ring of fire” for my upcoming third labor and delivery. I’ll go check out Bridget’s breathing videos now! Thanks again! 🥰
There's one more channel Global health media project (based on unicef), they guide from child birth to lactation to Feeding preemie babies, to how to wash baby after birth , to birth control to how to press the area arnd nipple gently n naturally to eject milk without a breast pump n how to store that breastmilk to feed later (for working mothers), etc.
Okay so I just gave birth to my beautiful daughter yesterday! And came back today to thank you! Your breathing tips helped me soo much, I had contractions from 3 pm till 4 in the morning !! And went to the hospital shocked by nurses when they checked me I was 9.5 cm dilated already ! And I did all that at home. They said they don’t know how I did it and what I did but it’s crazy! I did do exercise 3/4 days in a row to induce labor and ate approx 4 to 6 dates everyday for 2/3 weeks . Just extra tips for all the mammas 💖
@@hali1905karnas well I think walking alone is an amazing way to exercise the body. For my second baby I would go on long walks with my husband and one night (around 9:00 pm) I would say I walked nearly two miles. Later I went to sleep and woke up around 8:00/8:30 am to find slowly leaking fluid coming out. By the time I made it to the hospital I was 8 cm on my own. By 11:00 am, my baby was here! Just getting the body moving is enough just make sure to not over stress yourself!
Something that really bothers me when giving birth in a hospital was that I was trying to stay very calm and breath and they have this mantra going on that you're not in labor until you think you can't do it anymore. That honestly messed it up for me and I did panic a bit because I felt I wasn't progressing when I was just trying to not lose control and surrender to the process. I ended up tearing badly because I don't feel I was able to slowly and naturally push my baby out. I still did it unmedicated but I really hate the idea that a woman has to be distraught in order for then to take her seriously. They clearly don't see peaceful births
😪😞😞 that is so frustrating. I'm so happy I came across your comment though because I'm only 31 weeks but doing a hospital birth since the midwife in my area isn't available & I'm already freaking out. Your comment is a reminder to try to stay calm regardless & trust my body. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
@@ireneives3634 yes it helps to watch natural water births and see how the doulas and women are acting. It's so darn peaceful! Often even the baby comes out not crying! Just breathing and staring with awe at mom and dad. It's a myth that loud crying stimulates the lungs. That's just what they made up based off assumptions. I'm 30 weeks as well currently! And definitely glad ive found out more this time around! I hope you have a positive experience and can get nurses who respect the natural process! Keep watching videos on TH-cam and Instagram and gather as much information as possible! Because it really helps and it's the opposite of overwhelming since the natural process is actually way less complicated than what we are taught in mainstream hospitals 🥰 we can do this!! I'm planning a water birth but bringing olive oil too if I for some reason don't want the water. My doula said women have done that and it's potentially helps with tearing. Also for sure look into birth positions and what opens the tailbone/pelvic bone. Laying flat on the back shuts it and makes it harder for baby to come out and more pain and resistance on mom!
@AB C yes ! I hope your experience is better this go round! Thank you so so much I'll definitely continue to research as I'm hoping for a calming & natural birth in the hospital
Unmedicated birth is the norm in the Netherlands, I gave birth 3 times at the comfort of my own home and all the woman in my family gave birth without medication and most gave birth at home as well. I would never do it any other way, its the most powerfull, beautiful and pure thing you will ever do! Thank you for sharing your story its beautiful to hear others experience..
I am having an unassisted or “free birth” with my third pregnancy. I am 37 weeks tomorrow, so I am due any moment. I am thrilled for this birth experience, as we have never experienced this before. My first child was full of intervention, medications and my second was a non medicated birth with no interventions and all natural remedies. I am currently watching all of your videos for helpful information. Thank you so much!!!! EDIT TO ADD: I had my Unassisted Birth (free birth) Friday November 11th, 2022!!! My exact due date. It was magical, painful and transformative. I will never forget that experience! Though I opted for a water birth in our tub, sometimes you have to go with the flow of changes and I delivered on my bed with the help of my mother. What a beautiful moment we all shared together, as my husband was by my side cheering me on, our other kids were sound asleep for the night and my dad was in the living room to time when baby was born. Ugh I can’t stop thinking about it. I’m blessed it went smoothly and recovery has been the best thus far. No tearing, no dizziness and no excess bleeding. Thank you JESUS!!!
I am due any day. Have had all my births natural non medicated. But hospital does mess with you trying to concentrate and take full control. I am considering just laboring at home unassisted. My husband is scared of complications I can potentially have. But I have faith things will go well.
I gave birth too without epidural i gave birth at 40 weeks God made my labour so so easy am so grateful the real pain started at 8cm after an hour of pain i had my baby...today my baby boy is 3months...
Just dropping a comment to say THANK YOU. I never thought I’d have an unmedicated birth until it turned out I had no choice because of a medical condition denying me an epidural. My friend loved your videos and sent me your original breathing techniques video and I watched it at the hospital as they were inducing me. I give you all the credit for me being able to handle a natural induced child birth. Without your advice, I would have collapsed but instead I was able to breathe through all contractions and not fight them. To any ladies considering a natural birth, you are stronger than you think. I say this with full sincerity, I do not remember the pain. I know it was awful but I do not remember it. Once you hold your child or all disappears.
3 births, zero epidurals for me. It was pretty amazing in a lot of ways. All my babies scored high on Apgar score. It hurt pretty bad though 😂 The thing about that type of pain is there is a great reward. And pain is a temporary condition in that situation. If you remind yourself of that, it's much more tolerable.
5 births, zero epidurals...pain was unreal. I agree with you about the pain, but I know I felt betrayed by my childbirth coaches who failed to instill in me just how painful it would be.
@@PS-qn4oz no one warms you! Lol everyone told me how awesome it is to have kids and to give birth and I was completely in shock when the contractions started coming in heavy. I decided to have an epidural which I think worked out best. My son was almost 8 pounds and I weighed 115 pounds before I was pregnant with him (so I'm pretty stick thin) and he tore me up pretty bad when he came out. I still felt pain through the epidural. It was honestly pretty scary! People told me it was like having period cramps but contractions are so much worse than period cramps 😆😅
My due date is still like 22 weeks to go, I'm watching this and I suddenly cry??? you're so strong!! and I must believe that I can do it too, I really hope so! 💕
This was so similar to my birth story 🥰 we had our first this time last year at a birth center. I labored through the day, managing the pain well, and irrationally believing I was early labor and didn't need to go in, because the contractions were so manageable. When my husband finally convinced me we needed to leave, I went through transition in the car, and arrived at the birth center 9.5cm dilated! Baby was born 40min later in the birthing pool. It was wild, it was magical, it was beautiful and shocking and amazing in every way. Loved hearing your story. It makes me want to have a home birth for our second... Sounds more calm and comfortable. ♥️
I have endometriosis so I always figured that labor would be a breeze for me because I've lived for 8 years in constant pain. Until I started to really think about how I dealt with those intense endo pains...I realized every time I had a endo flare up I would freak. I would cry and scream in pain and it would always feel like hell on earth and I would meltdown. Your video totally taught me how important it is to stay relaxed, how important it is to stay calm, and to focus on affirmations and breathing. thank you for giving me confidence! due in 9 weeks and I feel better each day about tackling my fears :)
I'm same! I'm aiming for bath tub, movement, and breathing. And bringing a few different scents, different music, etc. "Pain is a strategy if you know how to use it" is a quote I've used for other chronic pain. We can do this 💜
What you said at the 12:00 mark is so key. The body does what it’s supposed to do. This past weekend I delivered my son at home alone as my husband went to grab the car and the urge to push came. I was standing up pushed twice and he was here. Taking the trip to the hospital (wasn’t the hospital I was supposed to give birth at) messed up my experience. I’d definitely do an intentional home birth next time around. My first baby was at the hospital and it was a good experience. However, nothing beats having my second at home and feeling so empowered.
Thank you so much for all your tips! Between Jesus and your helpful advice, I was able to go through all 10 hours of labor with no epidural. I will gladly return to these videos as refreshers when the next baby comes! Best wishes!
For every contraction, I pray and our gracious Lord Jesus carries me through. He is indeed our Rock!!!!!!had two natural home births...going into the third in twelve weeks God willing 🙏
I loved having my baby 100% naturally, it was the best and most peacefull day of my life. Sure it hurts like hell !! But its so empowering and fullfilling. Cant wait to give birth again !
Hi Bridget!!! I just had a successful vbac yesterday morning and my labor was less than 7hours I was watching your videos religiously!!!! Including the breathing out baby practice while doing number two 😂 only three pushes and baby was out, I only had first degree tear and i don’t feel pain today. Just wanted to say a big thank you for being part of my journey without even knowing it! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 be blessed. Love from Tanzania 🇹🇿
My water broke and I was only 3 centimeters. I was in labor for 19 hours after my water broke. I wasn’t planning to get the epidural, but I thought I was going to pass out, so I finally got it and I am so glad I did! Idk how I went 10 hours with intense pain.
I had a very similar experience! I was on pitocin and they broke my water at 5cm. I had been up all night, labored for 26 hours, and pushed for 4.5 hours. I'm so glad that I had the epidural as an option even though I didn't want one originally. I was just way too tired to cope. Still would like to go unmedicated this time!
OMG, it is so my story. My water broke and they put gel so laboure can start. i was in pain for 2 days but cervix never opened more than 3cm. I was so damn tired of crying and pains that my body just gave up and i felt numb and dead. I was also tired of another women screaming like monster near my room and it was also the reason my blood pressure went higher and they had to give me medicine. It was times where i would ask hubby and midwives if i am alive or dead. Finally they gave me epidural even i didnt wanted it and now i am so greatful that i said yes. I am pragnant 39 weeks and i will go for epidural bec medicated or unmedicated, the baby is born vaginal and healthy so why should i as a mum kill myself bec our woman bodies and minds are made to take the laboure pain and birth pain. I remember that i hated my baby boy and i didnt want midwuves to put him even on my chest. I hated the baby so much but thank God it was only for some hrs and then i fell in love with my baby. So epidural is a life saver. Now i understand thet every pragnancy is so different and women should stop shaming other women when it comes to choice of medicated. Everyone in my circle scared me so much and now again trying to shame me and tell me how bad epidural is, lollz. I tell them to shut up and fuck off.
Oh my god... I just gave birth on Tuesday and thanks to your videos I had such a phenomenal experience but.... You're literally telling my birth story that I just went through on Tuesday! Like, my jaw is dropping ! It was very identical! I'm sharing with everyone your channel! ♥️♥️♥️ Thank you
What a beautiful birth! I just delivered my 3rd baby after 2 traumatic births this birth was so healing. I too took my time with labor. And labored at home as long as possible! Baby girl was born 3 hrs after getting to the hospital. Congratulations on your beautiful girl!
Currently 41+3 with my first and in early labor now. So encouraging to watch positive birth stories! I’m planning to deliver at a birthing center this time, but I was also born at home and would love to have a home birth with the next one.
Thank-you for sharing your positive birth story. I'm 37 weeks and trying to mentally prepare myself for my first birthing experience. I would love to have a home birth for my next baby, but I was a little intimidated this time around. I look forward to having a natural birth, integrating your techniques and listening to my body. I teared up when you held your baby for the first time, I can't wait for this special moment!!
I had my son January 30th! He’s my second and I had him unmedicated at the hospital, he was 12 days early but weighed 9 pounds! When the time comes to have another we’re planning a home birth. I remember watching your videos weeks before going into labor and they helped so much ❤️
The moment you describe giving birth to your daughter's head without realising it - wow! Incredible. Brought tears to my eyes. I am 39 weeks pregnant with my second child and it was great to hear how quickly and smoothly this went for you. Thank you for sharing.
All your videos and these comments are giving me so much confidence in going unmedicated. I’m due with my first baby in 9 days and this positivity is incredible ❤
I gave birth 3 weeks ago, I was so scared of needing a c section! But in the end, it was vaginal natrual birth. My husband and dula were so supportive and helpful. A strong birth team is the most important helpful thing I can say to have.
@@brytanny11 I was 6 days late- but my baby boy is now 3 weeks old! I can't beilive a month ago he didn't exist, he's a whole person with a personality and opinions lol. I had an unmedicated birth (in a hospital), everyone I talk to is so shocked and surprised I didn't use the pain meds.
@@shevahauser1780 Same here mama! With my second baby no pain relief. The nurses called me Wonder Woman 💪It was awsome to do without meds and not that hard actually. I could do it again!
I watched your video’s throughout my pregnancy and you helped me to have a positive birth via induction last week! I was so nervous and it was not what I wanted as I thought it meant I would need the epidural (I’ve heard so many stories of induced labour’s being super intense) but thanks to your breathing techniques I was able to cope with only gas and air!
Really nice that you’re sharing positive birth stories! Just had my second without any medication a few days ago and honestly it was better than my first with epidural! I didn’t really plan it or take any courses or anything lol but I think we figure out how to handle it however works. What I learned from the two different deliveries is that there is no easy labor 🙃 every baby, woman, and situation is different but live sharing the positives since we so rarely hear them! If I could get through it my myself (no coach, partner, etc) without any pain meds or even breathing techniques then I think a lot of people can!
Had my first baby on feb 16 at a birth place :) I watched your videos and listened to ur meditations throughout my pregnancy. I also read a great book and I am so happy I had a great unmedicated labor surrounded by my awesome hubby, two midwifes, and my doula. It was so so special, My sweet baby girl was born 11 hours after my water broke weighing 8 pounds and one ounce. Thank you for your videos. So thankful for your channel.
Congratulations! Your content has helped me so much in my pregnancy. I’m 21 weeks and your comforting words make me look forward to birth and not dread it. What baby carrier are you wearing?
What a beautiful story! I was a labor and delivery nurse, gave birth to our first child, our daughter in the hospital with a midwife, but still very medically managed. My personal preference was always to birth at home with a midwife, so our next four births were all at home. We birthed in Ohio, in Okinawa, in Washington state, and in Germany!! I was 28 with our first, on active duty in the Air Force, separated when she was 2, and 43 when our last boy was born, 28 days before we left Germany and my husband retired from the Air Force! Our children are now 37 to 22, and we are approaching our second retirement!! I can attest to everything you talked about! Being in your own home and comfortable with your caregivers and support team are so wonderful!! I definitely would have wanted to give birth at home in the current situation!! Congratulations on your new daughter! I love your enthusiasm and obvious love for women and babies. Before we started home schooling, I did a lot of birth, babies, and breastfeeding support and instruction. So great to see others continuing the work. I pray God's blessings over you, your family and your work!!
I’m right behind you with my first pregnancy, too! I am 23 weeks as of yesterday 😊 my due date is the day after Thanksgiving. I’m having a water birth and I’m scared, but excited!
Everyone deserves an empowering and beautiful birth. And for me, that means in the hospital with an epidural. I had an extremely positive second birth experience in the hospital and wouldn't change that. If we go for number three, I'll go the hospital route again. You can have a beautiful birth in any setting.
Definitely! But I think many women are forced to be in a setting they don't wanna be in since unfortunately, not every hospital respect women's decision and what they want and need in their 'setting.' Some hospitals rush everything and not even give you time to progress before they say you're "failing to progress." Sending love to all the hospitals who listen to women birthing though and respect their bodies.
@@nicoleguiaoan4022 Definitely hospitals need to empower women. However, some people act like a hospital birth with an epidural is not a beautiful birth. To me, it was. My hospital/epidural birth was beautiful. A beautiful birth will be different for every woman.
@@classicsleuth3559 I'm afraid of hospitals but grant you my friends who had hospital births didn't spend the duration of pregnancy fearing the pain, the way I did. On the other hand many of them had C-sections or extravagant tears. Honestly why does childbirth have to be "beautiful"? Meeting our children is beautiful but everything leading up to that moment is extremely serious, medically.
@@PS-qn4oz I agree with you, the pain and fear I felt during delivery did not feel beautiful. And I feel like even if I tried giving birth at home or wherever, it would still not be beautiful. The beautiful part for me was when my baby boy was laid on my chest and my husband started crying and telling me what a good job I did. That was the beautiful part for me ❤
I’m glad you talked about when you knew it was the “transition stage”, I also had a home birth and remember thinking “I can’t do it, I need to go to the hospital” LOL! I so remember that feeling and it was right before my baby was born. Thanks for sharing 💓
I was sobbing years of joy by the end of this video. Thank you so much for this positive birth video. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and so ready to give birth.
How beautiful! I’m 39 weeks with my first and have been in “pre-labor” for almost a week. My patience is waning but this has helped revive me a bit! ❤️ congratulations again on your new little one!
Your videos are so helpful. I’m in my second pregnancy and due April next month with another boy. My first was in a hospital and everything just didn’t go as planned and feel guilty about it. This time I’ll be having a home birth. I know my body is built for birth but I’m still a little nervous. I have a midwife and my son and husband will be here with me. Thank you for your time and education, I’m slowly feeling so much more confident about my decision
This video is so helpful. I’m 35 weeks with my second. My first went horribly wrong and was very stressful the entire time. I decided this time around that I won’t have any interventions unless it’s an emergency. I know these tips will be so helpful. I’ve been stressed about labor because of last time, but the tip about just going about the day I think will make all the difference. I never would have thought of that!
I wanted a unmedicated birth, and my transition took about 30 minutes but during that time I wanted to run away asked for a epidural and IV painkillers. Luckily for me the baby came so fast that there was no time for that, and the baby was out with only a few pushes(that my body pretty much did on its own without my help). Between 6cm/waterbreaking and the baby being out was 45mins. I didn't have time to come to terms with how intense it got so fast
Oh wow! Hope you're ok with everything now. Mine also took about half an hour, but it felt like hours! Aparently I was swearing and begging to go home, but don't remember it. Transition is a weird time.
Thankyou for your advice. I was able to give birth with hardly no pain and didn’t need any medication to help. It was a quick delivery, watching your videos really helped me a lot
I'm from the Netherlands and an unmedicated home birth is actually pretty common here. Over the past few years it is getting less popular because of the stories and medicalization of birth. Thank you for bringing more positieve stories into the world. I found my first birth amazing, started at home but finished in the hospital. After two hours of pushing at home she needed a bit more help to be born. It was a beautiful process and there was no panic or stress. My second baby is due now and I'm so excited how this second birth will start and progress. I'm ready!
I gave birth to my baby girl in Oct 2020. 1 hour 15 min from waters breaking to birth, I was offered gas but I could barely breathe from the contractions. It was an absolutely surreal experience, I felt everything but I also felt strangely calm and in awe of what my body was able to do. Unfortunately karma bit my arse later with severe postnatal depression and anxiety, but the birth of my child will always remain in my memory as one of the best days of my life :')
You saying karma got you isn’t a good way to tbink if that! You deserved to have a fast and amazing birth and you don’t have to “pay” for that with karma. I hope you are doing better now! I hope you reframe your thought process about karma getting you with PPA.
I had to have an emergency C-Section. I went from a low risk pregnancy to baby girl needing to come out immediately. Im still recovering from it because I wanted a natural birth so badly. But you cant plan for anything. Babies safety is number one.
In Germany we have the privilege of having a midwife come home to you after birth every day at least once for several weeks if you need it. This service is payed for by the health insurance companys. It doesn't matter, were you have given birth. And you cane have consultation with your midwife for as long as you breastfeed or have any problems with feedings.
Wanted to thank you for all the advise on managing labor and an epidural free birth. I had a bad experience with my first, but I was determined to have my second without any intervention or medicine. I had the best experience and was so amazed at how quick delivery went as well! Went to the hospital upset and down b/c my midwife planned on inducing but ended up going all natural and getting my water to break on its own. Active labor started at 10:30am.. and pushed for 45mins,. Delivered at 12:50pm. My husband was so amazing in listening and applying the techniques which was huge. Again thank you, thank you!!
Amazing. I started watching you when i was 5 months preganant and shes 5 months old now!! I was so happy to hear you were expecting...time flys!! I laughed so hard when you said women will try to leave in transition bc i do it every time. I think bc my births are unmedicated and very FAST i try to close my legs and jump off the table when i feel that ring of fire, the nurses have to talk me down...lol in a sweet voice " now this time you're not gonna shut your legs on the doctor ok honey"
Wow, seeing you in the tub toward the part where you began giving birth made me cry. It’s just so beautiful. I have 18 weeks left and I’m not good with pain but I pray I can keep my emotions in check to have a smooth delivery. Many blessings 🤍.
Neither of my births went like I thought they would. (Or wanted them to.) A lot of my first birth is a blur, but I VIVIDLY remember the pushing contractions! But they started before I was fully dilated and my nurse kept telling me “stop pushing!” I actually yelled back “I’m not pushing! He is!!!” Lol. I wasn’t exactly rational at the time, but you are so right that once the pushing starts, you just have to go with it as calmly and safely as possible. But I also remember my pushing contractions feeling like a relief. Like all the painful labor up until that point had been an argument between me and my body but when I got to push, I was working with it again. Aside from the ring of fire, pushing felt better than the transition.
You helped me SO much with the birth of my son (he’s now 7 mos)! I used your deep breathing technique through almost every contraction for 40 hours. I also had random urges to get an epidural and also a few times feeling like I couldn’t do it. But in the end had an amazing birth experience. Thank you so much.
Your birth story was beautiful and now I love that you provided a breakdown of it. So many women go into labor without the slightest clue on what to expect and I believe that this video can help put anxious minds at ease. Yes every story is different, even your 2 were, but it doesn’t mean it’ll be scary like those shown on TV. Thank you for sharing such a personal experience and taking the opportunity to educate at the same time 🥰 I’ve had 4 home births and I still absolutely love everything about it!
Since, u had 4 home births, n i am from a place where most births happened in hospitals via c section now a days And pregnancy n childbirth r topics not much talked on openly here, so obviously women don't know concept that birth can be given without going to hospital So i have fear on how to have safe home birth, could u pls guide me in in details how u planned a safe homebirth plan from beginning ? Also, guide me on what to do in case u r at homebirth and suddenly need for emergency c sec arised (just to be prepared)? Also, ppl scare u by saying home is not sanitary to birth, or u will die without medical assistance is it tru? And, Can I have a home birth with at least one nurse or experienced doctor present at home? Thank you. What do u do after giving birth at home, like what abt cleaning baby, umbilical cord, placenta, and all things, pls tell ur experience.? Thanks
Im so greatful for your videos! I was able to give birth without ANY medication!!! I focused on my breathing and would bite on a rag while breating instead of screaming and holdings on to my breath. I prayed to God and the Virgen Mary who gave me the courage and strength. Its worth suffering to be a Mom forever. I was able to connect with my baby without being numb or high from the medications. Its worth it ladies!!!!
I labored for 54 hours; 22 at a midwifery with no progression, and 32 in the hospital. I felt transition hit through the epidural, and I began shivering basically uncontrollably, lol. Then, I felt my body pushing my son downward. The anesthesiologist did an amazing job because that awareness of my son's movement empowered me to have a vaginal delivery instead of being bullied into a c-section. ❤ he's now 2 and I'm watching this video again in preparation for my 2nd son. ❤
Thank you so much for this! The way you speak, even about the harder parts, is so encouraging and positive. I’m due with my first baby on January 6th and I am naturally a very anxious person so the impending birth has really intensified my anxiety. Working towards changing my thought process on it
I had a home water birth with my first baby and it was the most amazing experience! My daughter was born February 13th :) If I do have more children in the future I can only dream that I will have a similar experience again.
What did you do to prepare yourself & your mind for a natural home birth? This will be my first time giving labor & I wish to do so at home as well but a lot of people try to freak me out with all their horror stories but I’m not backing down just want to be a little prepared
@@lieshat2917 I had a home water birth with my first and planning a second home birth for second baby. I highly recommend a doula and practicing breathing techniques. I had essential oils and relaxing music, we tried to make it a calm environment and it was incredible. I am a 30 weeks pregnant today . I watched 2 of your birth stories and not gonna lie I cried ...the labor journey is just so beautiful and amazing experience! You are so sweet to share these with us! Thank you! Wish me good luck at my birth :))
Thanks for sharing! I've had three home births so far and even though every birth is so different, I think I can still say that ignoring it until you absolutely can't helps tremendously. My two young sons were with me when I was in labor with my daughter, they kept me busy, distracted and on my feet which I think helped things progress faster. I knew I hit transition when I started sniffling on the phone with my husband and he asked what was wrong, I said "it just hurts so bad!" So I finally called my midwives and she was born 1.5 hrs later.
I am due in 9 days and I am SO THANKFUL for this video!!!! This is my third baby and I am having anxiety this pregnancy so the final stages are harder and more triggering but this video was just what I needed! Thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️
I watched your videos before I gave birth to my first baby at the end of September! She came a month early and you helped me stay calm, labor at home for as long as possible, then labored in a jet tub till 7cm, and I made it to 8cm before my Epidural with your breathing techniques. I really appreciated your advice and videos and they helped me stay in tune with my body, contractions, and pushing! You helped me have a beautiful and calm relaxing labor! Thank you! Congrats on your beautiful little one!
Thank you for sharing this. I understand everyone has a different experience but I personally feel it’s important to surround myself with positive vibes only. I also want a home birth so I love hearing positive home birth stories
This gives me so much hope. A night and day of denial, then 2 hours of "paying attention" and managing surges in "real" labor. I'm getting ready for my second in August!
Not me 37 weeks pregnant crying at minute 7. The comfort your baby gives you and the way it brings a smile to your face. I was unable to have a home birth first time around and don’t feel comfortable/safe doing so with this second pregnancy but maybe for my third! 🫶🏻
Bridget I will like to thank you because of your guidance I was able to deliver naturally my baby boy on Feb 12, 2021! 8lb 4oz beautiful baby boy!!! Had you on my speaker for the two hour I was in labor and 30 minutes of pushing!!! Love you!!!!
I’m 28 weeks with my second pregnancy and I’ve actually been more nervous for birth this time around than with my first birth (which was unmedicated). I’m going for another water birth and your videos have been helping me with my mindset so much 🥰 thank you for all the amazing info you provide for free!
How’d it go for you? I’m 33 weeks with my second currently and nervous as heck for the second, my first was unmedicated also (and honestly super painful lol) but still aiming for it again because I hear it’s usually faster at least the second time
Incredible, even though this was more of a technical walkthrough I started bawling as soon as I saw her in labor. Tears running down my cheeks. What a miracle , great job mama 🧡
Your videos helped me have the natural birth I wanted. Long story short I had no epidural , gave birth standing up, and had what the doctors called a precipitous birth. I would love to share my experience on your podcast if you need motivating stories 🥰
Wow! I'm not pregnant or even sure I want to have kids at this point but this video made me feel like if my husband and I decide to go for it that I could do it (I would for sure buy your classes if so)! You're a superstar.
I am from Romania. I gave birth at home to my first child almost a year ago, on 24th March. I watched until due day I think all your videos posted since that date. I love you! And your videos 😍 I weaped a bit right now watcking this one because I had a back labor and my sweet daughter was born with her hand on her head. A bit shocked that you experienced this too. For me unfortunately I was not assisted by a certified midwife, still the one that should have come from 250miles was afraid of the newly lockdown. So we ended up being assisted on whatsapp, and our doula became a midwife. Neither us or doula don't regret this, but there are minuses about the expulsion. I took baby girl to Cranio-Sacral Therapy and she developed just fine, and I recover more and more from the unpleasent part of the experience. Thank you very much for being here, for being a Light for mamas 💖💖💖
This is so timely for me! I'm 40 weeks today and waiting for my first baby girl. You are so inspiring! I plan on listening to your guided meditations when I'm in labor. Hopefully my experience can be as smooth as yours.
I really wish I had known about the stages and how it is normal to throw up or shake during transition. This scared me so much that I second guessed myself the whole time after that. It will definitely be different the second time around.
Such a beautiful birthing story, brought me to tears. You explain it so eloquently with flow. I am pregnant with my first baby but I've heard a lot of negative birthing stories, so thank you. Im having a home birth and had a dream last night that all will go well, which was reassuring.
This is a fantastic video: so informative. Thank you! Congratulations on your second child and major kudos for birthing at home: it was heartwarming to watch. My wife’s 38 weeks with our second child. We didn’t opt for home birth given some unexpected complications with the first pregnancy/birth. But still reasonably confident of having an unmedicated birth this time around.
Love the laid back birth story! I watched so many of your videos with my second pregnancy and had a great birthing experience, he was born in our driveway in the rain vs the birth center and my husband caught him but it was literally perfect because I wanted a home birth anyway. I’m pregnant with baby 3 now and due October so I’m back to your videos to re-engage the positive affirmations and breathing practices again, the breathing control was a huge difference between baby one and two
38 weeks 3 days so ready for my little rainbow baby to make his appearance. This will be my first birth and we have decided to do a home water birth and I’m so ready. This video helps reestablish my mindset. I’ve got this!!!
Oh my gosh I love this! My natural birth was so traumatic that I fear giving birth again and I question having another baby because of it 🥺 I will be doing more research!
Had a unmedicated home birth with my first and definitely worth it all though it was long and exhausting and hard. I could have prepped better mentally and physically. I’m 30weeks with my second and doing another home birth hoping this one goes a lot better than the first. Definitely preparing myself early on.
Bridget you are such beautiful and strong woman, and you have birthed like a pro! Watching your channel from UK, 39 weeks pregnant now and hoping to be half as brave as you 🙂 Thank you for all the hard work 💐
I give birth soon. Most days I do a good job of not comparing or feeling sorry for myself. My husband passed away suddenly a few months ago. Truly wish he could be there in the physical. Great video. You are so blessed. ❤️
I automatically knew I wanted an epidural but my baby came so fast I didnt even have time to get one. But I'm glad I didnt get the epidural because it would have slowed down the process
me too! on the way down to delivery ward to get the epidural my water broke and the midwife told me it was too late to get it cause the baby was coming. 😅 she was right. gave birth 5 minutes after my water broke.
I know that feeling of shock so well! My first and second babies both arrived in about 3.5 hrs from start to finish. It was hard to believe that they were already here so quickly! I’m about to have our 3rd and praying for a slightly calmer delivery but at least I’ll be a bit more prepared if this one comes the same way. Transition scares me the most because it’s so chaotic when it happens fast but at least it is over quickly!!
congratulations! 🥰 for my second time around i knew i had to work on my breathing (which is how i found your channel) and it made my labor and delivery so much better also i did not have any medication 😊
Thank you for this positive story. I have heard so many horror stories that I feel a deep anxiety, fear even, about labour and birth. I needed to hear that I could have a better outcome.
I'm 38 weeks with my first, and this is the first time this whole pregnancy that made me think "I can do this. This doesn't have to be scary."
How did it go?
Yes I'd love to know how you and baby are doing
If I could say the main things that kept me in the best head space and set me up for such a positive experience, it would be:
Awesome birth story. Kudos to you and baby for being a fantastic duo !
Thanks for the heads up about breathing through the ring of fire! 😊
I’ve had two unmedicated (in terms of pain relief) births before but I am still nervous about the “ring of fire” for my upcoming third labor and delivery.
❤️
Thank you so much for sharing! Your comment is so helpful!
That sounds so amazing!! what kind of exercises ? can you share some tips ?
Thanks for the tips! Will try- due June 24
Yes please share the exercising tips you did
@@hali1905karnas well I think walking alone is an amazing way to exercise the body.
Hi, please share more about dates and exercises best to do. I'm 7months. Looking to do the natural birthing. 1st time mom.
@@ABC-rg4linot everyone can have a peaceful birth in the water unfortunately.
@@ABC-rg4liso can we use oil down there during labour? Because that’s what I would planned but the midwife said no .. what’s your experience?☺️
This is how it’s supposed to be. The body knows what to do. Love this ❤
I am having an unassisted or “free birth” with my third pregnancy.
Bless you mama
Congratulations ❤
Sounds wonderful congratulations!!!
I am due any day. Have had all my births natural non medicated. But hospital does mess with you trying to concentrate and take full control. I am considering just laboring at home unassisted. My husband is scared of complications I can potentially have. But I have faith things will go well.
@@desereehernandez5889how was you Birth? ❤️
I gave birth too without epidural i gave birth at 40 weeks God made my labour so so easy am so grateful the real pain started at 8cm after an hour of pain i had my baby...today my baby boy is 3months...
mashaAllah
It hurt pretty bad though 😂
The thing about that type of pain is there is a great reward. And pain is a temporary condition in that situation. If you remind yourself of that, it's much more tolerable.
Yes.
Love this u give me courage
🍪
I'm 6 weeks and I'm sobbing uncontrollably!! Ahh !!
Haha I laughed when I read this and by the end of the video I was crying too! I'll meet my baby girl in 10 weeks
I got 11 weeks to go 💀 and I have to sign up for classes in order for me to work with the midwives at my hospital
You totally can! If you’re going to the hospital wait as long as you to get there. LABOR at HOME!
Hi from the future? Are u mama n baby healthy and boy or girl?
❤
I have endometriosis so I always figured that labor would be a breeze for me because I've lived for 8 years in constant pain. Until I started to really think about how I dealt with those intense endo pains...I realized every time I had a endo flare up I would freak. I would cry and scream in pain and it would always feel like hell on earth and I would meltdown. Your video totally taught me how important it is to stay relaxed, how important it is to stay calm, and to focus on affirmations and breathing. thank you for giving me confidence! due in 9 weeks and I feel better each day about tackling my fears :)
I have endometriosis too, how was your labour?
I am 35 weeks and I'm soooo freaking terrified. First pregnancy. Thank you so much for your videos and positive energy!
I'm same! I'm aiming for bath tub, movement, and breathing. And bringing a few different scents, different music, etc. "Pain is a strategy if you know how to use it" is a quote I've used for other chronic pain. We can do this 💜
Have you given birth yet? If so, how was it?
How is it going with your baby
Oh I love how your husband is so supportive and trying to help you, talk with you trough every stage. He’s so very well informed!
Thank you for sharing!
I wasn’t going to get an epidural but after three days in active labor, I gave in and was so glad I did! I got to sleep before it was time to push
♥️♥️♥️ Thank you
My due date is today! And going for an unmedicated birth this time around.
Wishing you all the best...You got this mama

Congratulations! Hope you had a wonderful birth experience!
Good luck to you! Feel free to listen to my positive birth story without epidural if that helps!

How did your birth go?!
@@katie4996 it did not go according to my plan 😂but that’s ok. I got to have my vaginal delivery that I wanted and we are both happy and healthy ❤️
This is so inspiring. I'm 5 months pregnant and really scared of birth that I thought to have c-section. You made it look so much manageable.
I gave birth 3 weeks ago, I was so scared of needing a c section!
But in the end, it was vaginal natrual birth. My husband and dula were so supportive and helpful. A strong birth team is the most important helpful thing I can say to have.

Thank you for sharing :)
Watching this at 40w+3, giving me such hope for a calm and relaxing delivery (hopefully soon)!!!
First time mom here (20 weeks). This video is so lovely and makes me a lot less fearful for birth. I actually teared up at parts!
Me too. I was like, I could go for a C section right now. Just get this over with.
I’m the same weeks as you! I’ve also been in pre labour for a week and I am barely sleeping too. Best of luck to you!
@@sazzlepop321 aww you too!! ❤️
commenting for updates when your baby's born 🥺❤ best of luck!!
Congrats mama! You’re built for this! I’m currently 38 weeks 🥰
I’m 27w and I know time goes fast. Hope u had an easy delivery!
OMGOODNESS! Your tiny doula is precious! She’s a natural little Momma. Congratulations! What a perfect birthday & Your girls are precious. ❤️
@@shevahauser1780 it was a bit wild, but got a cool story out of it
@@dolcepescas6153 I had a bad episiotomy (they cut me), so I'm not sure if I tore or not, but iv heard horror stories about epideral recovery
Thankyou for your advice. I was able to give birth with hardly no pain and didn’t need any medication to help. It was a quick delivery, watching your videos really helped me a lot
34 weeks this week
Excited, nervous, but educating myself on all of it. Hope I can do this!
+١😊
In Germany we have the privilege of having a midwife come home to you after birth every day at least once for several weeks if you need it. This service is payed for by the health insurance companys. It doesn't matter, were you have given birth.
And you cane have consultation with your midwife for as long as you breastfeed or have any problems with feedings.
That's awesome!
That is amazing
Same in the UK
Same in Netherlands
That is amazing!
Entering the 3rd trimester now with my first and I plan on a medication free birth. I'm definitely nervous but I love hearing these birth stories!
Thanks so much, I'm about 36 weeks with my first and your videos have been giving me so much confidence & comfort ☺️❣️
you’ll be amazing! I just had my first and stuff like this really helped give me confidence and keep me calm during my labor
Since, u had 4 home births, n i am from a place where most births happened in hospitals via c section now a days
And pregnancy n childbirth r topics not much talked on openly here, so obviously women don't know concept that birth can be given without going to hospital
So i have fear on how to have safe home birth, could u pls guide me in in details how u planned a safe homebirth plan from beginning ?
Focus on your breathing through the contractions and get onto the mindset that you can do this, you’re body knows what to do. Ignore the birth stories others give you because they will get into your head. Just keep watching positive videos and stories. Best luck mama.
@@OliviaMadeleineBtq thank you so much Angel. You are truly a jewel. 🤍 I will definitely take this into consideration & get to it now since I’m 20w ☺️ I am sending love & support to you & your family 💓
What if something were to go wrong when youre at home? That would scare me too much.
@@honeylavender22 what if something were to go wrong in the hospital? Same thing besides your in the comfort of your home. Your mind is a powerful tool to have. So think positive but always stay aware & alert to any hazards or emergencies that may happen. Always have a backup plan. But anything can go wrong whether your at home or the hospital so keep that in mind. :). Best of wishes to you!
I am a 30 weeks pregnant today . I watched 2 of your birth stories and not gonna lie I cried ...the labor journey is just so beautiful and amazing experience! You are so sweet to share these with us! Thank you! Wish me good luck at my birth :))
I looooved your birth affirmation meditations! I did them during labor and right before pushing. Truly helped me so much thank you!
Me too. Thank you!
I knew I hit transition when I started sniffling on the phone with my husband and he asked what was wrong, I said "it just hurts so bad!"
So I finally called my midwives and she was born 1.5 hrs later.
I am hoping for a hospital birth with an epidural but still found this helpful. And like you said I just like watching birth stories. Congrats! ❤️
Thank you Bridget for sharing your positive birth story! I'm at 32 weeks and trying to build my confidence that I can do this.
Good luck to you! Feel free to listen to my positive birth story without epidural if that helps!

This was fascinating. I feel so blessed to be a woman that can choose to go through this and experience birthing my child.
My daughter had a nuchal hand to and I was told it’s why I got a 2nd degree tear. You’re so lucky you didn’t tear! What a beautiful birth story ❤️
I love you! And your videos 😍
I weaped a bit right now watcking this one because I had a back labor and my sweet daughter was born with her hand on her head.
I am 40 weeks today also! I’m starting to feel worried about being induced :(
@@GesabelContreras I understand. My docs want to induce at 41 weeks. I hope we don’t get to that!
Your daughter is so precious. I love how gentle and supportive she is being with you! So heart-warming!

Hi! I'm nearly 20 weeks with my 3rd baby. We are planning our first home birth and I'm loving your videos!
Me too! That was baby number 1. I’ll have my third in September. At this point, I’ll never have an epidural!
FTM 29 weeks and this made me cry. I'm so happy for you for thr positive home birth. I'm so scared and don't feel ready 😪
So empowering this made my day.
for my second time around i knew i had to work on my breathing (which is how i found your channel) and it made my labor and delivery so much better also i did not have any medication 😊
Thank you for this positive story. I have heard so many horror stories that I feel a deep anxiety, fear even, about labour and birth. I needed to hear that I could have a better outcome.
