    Nice one! It happens that I live in Wuppertal and some of the people I know here sometimes tell me about the times you analyzed games with them and all that. It seems you left a great impression.

      Yesterday GM Daniel came to our club for a great visit. We were hosting our friends from KOSK chess club who Daniel use to play for. A top man and a member of Hammersmith Chess Club..plus he joined us for a few beers and watching the rugby afterwards.

    We would all love to see more of your games please Mr.King, it's amazing that you were playing strategic masterpieces before a former World Champion was born! A journey to GM series by you would be a delight to watch. Thanks for the top notch content as always.

    Great game. That really shows the patience, poise and strategic understanding of a grandmaster. Another valuable lesson. Thanks!

    Nice attack! It’s really instructive when you stick to a theme like this for several videos

    Nice example of how a positional advantage (the holes created by the g-pawn push) can be turned into a tactical breakthrough!

    Well played daniel, a fine example of finding a positional plan and turning it into a winning attack. Thanks.

    Before Carlsen was born?!? There’s no way someone as young and vibrant as you could be this old.

      Grandmaster King definitely improves as he moves through the spectrum of age, yes; maybe has a painting of himself in his attic.

    Good afternoon Daniel from the Costa del Worcester. I didn't know FIDE ratings went as high as 2460 lol. I am 2000 rated on a good day...off to stand in the dunces corner and study the games of Paul Morphy some more!

    There may be lessons also for Torre set-ups for W versus the KID... (It's hard to believe that the extra move would be a burden.)

    Kasparov said a knight on f4 (f5 as white) was worth a pawn. Definitely true!

      Carlsen-Shirov: th-cam.com/video/QTZXhYX4mNM/w-d-xo.html Carlsen-Tabatabaei: th-cam.com/video/DRkO8Q82i7I/w-d-xo.html Carlsen-Ding: th-cam.com/video/XT_mmvpaaI0/w-d-xo.html Try these three and you'll see a certain strategic similarity.

    To my embarrasment I didn't see 6:55. Point is that after white hits on g6, qua material their follow up is the same, with the difference that black's first move got a pawn, and white's first move got a bishop.

  • @zeezmusic7245
    @zeezmusic7245 ปีที่แล้ว

    Beautiful game, i love how blacks knight on f4 can be captured by whites bishop. But at the same time it leads to complete collapse of whites position.

    That plan with bringing the N back from f5 to g3 is just stupid. Too slow. I remember the days in the 1980s when even people rated over 2000 played openings they didn't know much of anything about and especially Reti-like openings were often just sheer improvisation.

    If I am allowed to criticise your channel just a bit: first of all, the content and analysis are awesome and I'm grateful for that. But what bothers me the most is the audio from your intro and outro. Both aren't really pleasing to the ears. Falling pieces and a ticking clock: while the first one irritates my obsession for order (I see pieces falling all over the place, when your video starts), the outro makes me anxious, that a bomb is ticking and I have to react quickly or something bad might happen.
    Maybe I'm the only one

    • @LateCloser
      @LateCloser ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're the only one. And if not, you should start your own channel with the other guy who is bothered by such insignificant things. I would go as far as to say that if he removed those sound effects, I'd be disappointed. They are a hallmark of this channel and have been for probably a decade. When you hear those sounds, you know you're about to watch an incredible video on chess. Be thankful you didn't have to pay a cent to view it.
