Chris E gotcha. I will keep you in mind. Sometimes local farms will have 1,000 gallon water tanks which make great facilities with the tops removed. I missed out on a couple about a month ago.

David Marks thank you very much. We actually had 0 losses from transport. 3 of the Shiro Utsuri were faded but rebounded after some air. We found one Chagoi jump out before netting and was put back without issue but another holding tank had a jumper and didn’t make it. Only 1 loss out of 7,400 and that was user error. If they would have been just an hour longer in those bags, we could have had some heavy losses.
They are very unique! Those are called Shiro(white) Utsuri(mirror), which make a fantastic addition to the pond. Some even come with sparkles(Gin Rin). I added one to my collection as well. Thanks for subscribing!!

Can't believe they don't remove from the bag water immediately. Soon as oxygen hits that water it'll ammonia spike like crazy usually killing some fish. Thanks fot sharing.
TheVanlander there was about 5 gallons of new water in tubs and the 2 were mixed to get acclimated when they were poured. It seems to be just enough that it doesn’t affect them too badly. Surprisingly we had 0 losses. I appreciate the insight and comment. Thanks and you around!
Rommel De Guzman typically they don’t. Sometimes in the winter it extremely cold, but most people let them go dormant(topor). Most people who heat in the winter do so they continue to grow.

Hey Freddy, All the foam was from dissolved organic from the fish being in the water so long. They were held much longer than expected(64 hours) and all the air and agitation created the foam. Thanks for asking and subscribing! We really appreciate it!
I have to agree with The Vanlander. Fish should never be left in the shipping water. Inside the bag, the pH drops very low, making the ammonia non-toxic. As soon as the air hit the water, the pH starts rising causing the ammonnia to become highly toxic. When you open the bags, you can smell the ammonia. Fish should always be removed from the shipping water as soon as the bag is opened. You can float the bag to acclimate the temp. and that's all that's needed. Norm, you should have your drop test kit ready the next time you open a bag and test the water.
I will ask why he does it the way he does. I will say, out of 7,400 fish, there wasn’t a single fish loss, so something seems to be working with his methods. Maybe since he put about 5 gallons of new water, it was enough to keep the parameters safe. I would also like to test original water for hardness compared to my water so I know what to expect in certain sumi or Beni development.

Yes, all are from Japan! You have to have a dealers license to order like he did from Japan. You can contact East Coast Koi Imports if you’re interested in ordering any fish similar to the ones in the video. Are you in the United States?
@@priyanthdon9007 hey my friend. I’m not sure how it’s done in Sri Lanka. You may have to contact your local officials to have them point you in the right direction.
Many times heavy rains here can kill fish because the rain is acidic with a very low ph. The same may be happening to you. You can add sodium bicarbonate which is commonly known as baking soda to your water before rain to buffer the water. Make sure your ph is in the mid 7’s and try to keep stable. Try to keep rain water from flowing in your pond. Good luck!!
Goshiki is on in my #1 list. There are a few in slow mo. I’m not sure on the Ochiba, but they make great pieces to a collection and are typically very friendly in my experience. I have one currently and he is always up front and ready to say hello.
