I'd love to give this stuff more of a shot; most of the "mini's" I use are bluetack model on coins. It works, and my players enjoy crushing goblins and bandits with their bare hands. But it's not as visually satisfying as stuff like this, It also just seems like a tonne of fun to take some old toys worth pennies and make something out of them!
If you have been sculpting with blue tack you might want to try out some Green stuff modeling. Green stuff is tough to work with because it's so sticky but once it dries you have a permanent mini. Sadly your players can't easy crush models like that.
@@Blandco When you've worked bluetack down to a near liquid, anything is possible! Regardless, thank you kindly for the tip; I'll look into getting some green stuff and making some practice models, could always use more bandits and the like!
I was playing a game with my buddy the other day and he picked a skin for his character that was centipede based. He was super grossed out and kept going on about how much it messed with him. I found a ton of mini centipedes for $2 at Walmart for Halloween decor the next day. Bought it, put some on bases, and then used another to kitbash a skeleton I had laying around into some sort of centipede demon. Can't wait till he meets that guy :^)
I know where the goodwill by tue pound octopus tentacles are from! XD My daughter has one. Lol good ol' imaginex space tentaclor. Haha I had to compare them to make sure. Sadly the toy is discontinued BUT you can find octopus finger tentacles on Amazon if you wanted to make more :) they're used as hand puppets lol. Hope that helped solve the mystery. I saw your video of it before but it didn't occur to me until last night when I was cleaning up her toys lol
So many great conversions! :D I think I actually may have that exact same wagon, which I found at a thrift store here in Norway. Also managed to get the SW tentacly thing when I was in England a while back. :D And that Dreamblade mini shows up in my latest video - love Dreamblade! :D As for the pronounciation of Kraken, the latter is correct. Hard pronounciation, like "crack". :)
I have the same toy (six legged McDonald's toy). Also picked from the thrift store, I converted it into an Ork war machine of sorts 😁 I should probably post that video. Greetinga from a fellow craftsman Blandco! An avid viewer here! ☺
Saw a bag with a miniature castle and knight set. After buying it for about 2$ I made took it home and am glad to see the knight are the right size for Halflings or gnomes (but in full metal armour and wielding a spear of sword and shield). Though the castle itself is rather tiny and not scaled to the knights it came with. I am thinking of turning into a fairy mansion or fortress. A building that I treat as a spawner for waves of soldiers to swarm the players. Who knows what will happen when the gate opens again and again, will it unleash another swarm, raise a white flag or maybe let out the captain himself and his best men for the final round? Sometimes it is the odd toys you find hidden amongst store shelves that make as good as the expensive minis you find in the grandest game store. ( I think, I hope to see the two small stores I know again for what else they might have in stock).
Between all the D&D crafting videos and fringe paranormal/occult/ufology videos I’ve watched I’ve seen my share of the odd tones of Chills haha. Still, it was hilarious to hear
I respect your opinions, but for me, Roland Emmerich's Godzilla movie was quite enjoyable for me, actually. I actually enjoyed it, quite a lot, contrary to most Godzilla fans, but I respect others' opinions, so I'm fine if you don't like it.

@@Blandco The history of this hobby is so neat. No idea when mine was made, but I've had it since the 80s and it's stamped with "HONG KONG" on the bottom. It didn't have the green paint, though, and the eyes are a little different.
@ 3:38 I'm pretty sure that Chinese foo dog is the one that killed my dwarf at MACE. LOL Fun fact: The english colloquialisms "foo dog" or "lion dog" are the odd naming choice given to what are traditionally called Stone Lions or Imperial Guardian Lions.
Have you ever taken a look at the greek, nordic, or egyptian lot of 47-50 miniature lots on ebay? I'm tempted to buy because I need greek minis, but im not sure if they will even work for what I need.
I am not sure what you are referring to but I have seen lots of board game minis that are way too small in scale for D&D. Age of Mythology are the ones I kept seeing. Way too small 1/72 scale and made of plastic that is hard to paint.
I didn't know you actually recognized the difference between Zilla and GODZILLA. Scratch that, I didn't even know you knew those characters. Take my Arcane snail as an offering 🎷🐌
Zilla was very much a giant disappointment for most people my age. Despite it being pushed as a "blockbuster" nobody I ever talked to liked it at all. OG Godzilla films and the newer offerings are much more interesting.
@@Blandco The only thing I liked about it was the design. I also have the same little figure, it has a biting action. I got it from my friend as a parting gift when I moved because he knew I liked things like that.
I found some mini snakes in a dollar store. Perfect size for giant snakes. The coiled ones actually fit a miniature in the coil
That's awesome
Chillz voice is spot on 11/10
Really? I thought it was so off nobody would even get the reference. Glad I left that in! Someone got it.
HAHAHA I was about to ask about that reference
idk i think he put to much life and emotion into it don't have chills i have no reason to live tone to it.

Doing some good work there Austin.
Converting toys for DnD is such an amazing hobby. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love creating minis, gets my creativity pumping
Love it. It is so rewarding to take thrift store junk and make it into tabletop fun.
It's great when you find a nice bit of inspiration!
Great Job! We have a few "free tables" at work and I've been picking stuff up to covert or use but finding the time...Lol! Keep up the Great work!
I’ve used some spiders you find at Halloween to be useful for D&D too
Good stuff
I really like the cardboard fort you made.
Many dianoga trash monsters died horrible deaths to bring you those tentacles. The empire salutes their service

I wish I could get ahold of those golems lol they would work so well in one of my my campaigns lol
They were from back in 2010 from the Megamind Happy Meal. Perhaps you will eventually come across them.
Always fun to use cheap or found items. Thanks
Great finds. Good job.
I don't know what is better, the fact that you are in a cardboard box, or the fact that you took the time to hang up a poster in the cardboard box.
I like to brighten up my work environment.
It may not be a Godzilla but the zilla design looks pretty cool.

None of them are "really Godzilla", considering the word is actually Gojira.
