As far as movement goes, I’d be fine just seeing an end of movement summary like the 40K videos except when there are any overwatches they should be shown.

Just one tip, I feel like there should have been more overwatch. Infantry mostly hits on 5’s, might a well take the overwatch on 6’s to do casualties before they can fire in the combat phase. Don’t forget tanks can fire point defense in the movement phase, another great way to thin the enemy before combat phase.
Very cool. I like that you both played at full max (for even you had in collection and painted up) as opposed to something smaller

For filming, it makes sense to do the movement phase for overwatch and point defense and bombing. I think how you did it is good to just show the important moves and actions.
needed to take 2 more saves from the titan when it first fired. no malice just thought it might have made it feel less lack luster
Yeah Luca took 4 hits but put a dice with 2 out instead because he said AP2. With every weapon having these different AP values I think its better to take the saves immediately when hit. Its too easy to forget which ones are AP2 AP1 AP0 after everything is fired.
@@HeadCannonPrime With the exception of when shooting at void shielded targets seeing order matters and it's the defender choosing order. Though probably can just do by rolling best anti-titan weapons first(since that's the order defender would pick. Has to be pretty silly defender to choose to take first shield busting weapons and THEN volcano cannon rather than drop one shield with volcano cannon hit :D Well unless for some reason he WANTS his titan dead...(say trying to kill off enemy infantry nearby to cunningly get objective or something)

@@peters6345 Send them in amidst enemy army t1, of course they die. Here we keep turn 1 them more of far skirting the ranges. When you have 30-40" range on many guns you have little reason to go amidst. We had 6 lightnings and 2 thunderhawks and t1 by waiting toward end of turn and keeping far t1 casualties down to 1 thunderhawk and even that was a) slight bad luck b) did require dedicated skyfire. Marines couldn't even try kill lightnings because they made damned sure they were out of range while peppering my tanks with AT shots. Just because you CAN strike deep t1 doesn't mean you HAVE to. Value of units keep increasing as game goes so keeping them away t1 easily worth it.
Even marauder bomber 1xwing bombs, 1xarmourbane missiles will have respectable t1 firepower from distance to hunt say sicarans with autocannons to make life easier t2.
But as long as you send your fliers straight into middle of enemy army you can't expect it to survive. Being aircraft shouldn't make one invulnerable. We experienced invincible units at 7th ed 40k. Literally units that you can't kill. They were not fun.

@@Breakingbad_habits No. Just giving out my experiences. I see lots of people complaining about how planes die too easily. Meanwhile here experience is otherway around. With 30-40" ranges and hit on 6's it's hard for planes to get into icky spot unless you deliberately expose them. People seem to think that just because you have short range gun it means you have to use it t1 but I find it more valuable that I skip t1 and then use it t2 and t3 :) If your experience is that 1 turn usage is better than 1 partial usage and 2 full usage then fair enough :)

I love seeing Legions Imperialis! One point of constructive criticism though, when you are explaining the moves and attacks I can hear someone breathing into the mic ever so slightly. Just something small but wanted to mention it. Keep up the great content!
Myself not fan of sending air planes amidst enemy army t1. Especially when it's got long range guns. Soften enemy AA potential so they are harder to hit t2.
Agreed, it takes a lot of restraint holding forces back as everything is so fast in this game
FAQ updated engine killer to work vs normal vehicles as well. So no weird volcano cannons that only do one damage to malcadors.

While we have been seeing a lot of old world. I'm glad to see LI back with more games. i'm guessing for bigger games you'll see tons of vehicles over loads of infantry kind of like flames of war or team yankee.

For movement, an idea of showing could be, if it’s possible, to do a top down shot before and after the movement phase with any thing interesting happening being shown live. Love LI reports

20:12. Easy mistake to do but armour bane isn't just reroll succesfull armour saves. It's that for vehicles, super heavies, knights and titans. And specifically for armour save characteristic so inv saves, jinks etc are unaffected. And as per unit type list infantry is unaffected...and so are walkers. If you shoot armourbane vs contemptor dreadnoughts no rerolling armour saves required.
25:18 the lascannon AP is ignored on the infantry because of the anti-tank rule.
It looked like the Marauders didn't roll enough dice? They can take 2 wing weapons, and the listed weapon profile is per weapon. So if the bombers only had wing bombs, they should have rolled 4 dice for those, not two. Also looks like the Marauders didn't use their point defence weapons at the end of their move, which they could have as a second attack.
Armorbane works on vehicles, super heavies, knights, and titans. Not infantry or walkers. While Kratos have 1 sponson weapon, they have 2 of the hull mounted weapons (Lascannon, autocannon, or HB, depending). Marauders with double wingbombs drop 7 bombs.
You guys actually seem to be missing several of the doubled up weapon options. I know it's a tad confusing since sponsons DON'T double up, but a lot of other weapon options do.
Also, just a tactics thing. If you plan to shoot planes, you should always do it in overwatch, since you are unlikely to need a worse hit then shooting them either fire stage and you stop them doing their thing
also you guys pulled infantry models from AT shots without rolling saves, but AT has AP 0 against infantry

I think we can all agree that 3000 points was just GW trying to be greedy. There is no real reason that games should go bigger than this. Its already a parking lot. 20% more units sitting in the backfield isn't going to change who controls the objectives. Its just more models for the sake of more models.
Except pricey units are yet to come. Land raiders, spartans, glaives, artillery, jetbikes. Points/model going up dramatically.
We got horde units 1st. Next comes elite
And most of infantry tend to be in buildings or transports aka off board.
And also. The units at backfield are the ones that fight for objectives turn 3 onward when 1st wave been annihilated. Unless you want 2 turn games?
@@bakuchidancer I have rarely seen a LI game that wasn't a blowout after 4 turns. Most people don't hold units back. They just throw everything at the objectives every turn.

48 min: titan shooting tanks. You do all shots first then target decides order of saves, so for example can pick the wounded tank to take the volcanon cannon hit.
A fun battle report almost ruined by the constant, extremely heavy breathing.

I mean for Titans it totally makes sense, they are not actually super duper heavy firepower compared to a company of tanks, but waay more durable. And you have to take them down all at once because of voids.
This scenario so far doesn't look promising. Too easy to slide from win to win more as he who controls t1 can body block into those objectives too easily as you move them back.

Confused as to how many dice are rolled for Legion Tank Sponson Weapons. Is it one dice per sponson, or one dice total? I've seen both ways on different games. Also the rule book is unclear as on profile it says Sponson Bolters (plural - 1 shot) and also Sponson Lascannon (singular - 1 shot)
You get 1 instance of the profile, so usually 1 dice.
I read comments about rules and I think "bloody bore off" but...

You ended combat not in base to base so those units are free to do whatever next turn. There is no 1" engagement zone that keeps you Pinned after combat. Page 62
Good to know! This came up in the game afterwards as well, sometimes playing every game under the rainbow has its drawbacks 😅
I'm so glad that James Workshop decided to go back on the promise to never release epic scale infantry again. Now we just need them to do this for Old World.

Always awesome to see more imperialis, so much fun.
Couple things, other than the mic catching Robs breathing:
-Luka, you guys have several titans and knights for titanicus! You can definitely hit 2800-3k for imperialis.
-Love the board but it really does not feel like you have enough terrain.
-Ad much as the before and after for movement might speed things up, overwatch is a pretty big thing in this game.
-Luka you should try out Death Guard legion rules to deny your opponent buildings.
Would love to get up there and play this with you guys. Imperialis either goes teal fast, and then you get to rerack for a second game, or its neck snd neck until the end.
I think Terrain was just right amount
We definitely need more "Infantry scale obstacles", teeny tiny walls, pipes, etc! I am a stickler for playing them as they're painted, they will be SW forever, unfortunately 😂
@lukapavicevic335 , I'd also recommend trying out knights instead of titans. They are pretty fun, as lancers zoom across the board or you toss blasts with a magaera
to each their own, but I painted my mini-men in much brighter colours, red and blue, with bright helmets in various colours to easily tell the different unit types apart and which detachment they belong to.
too much grey and black and they all turn out very dull, in my opinion.. more realistic perhaps, but also more dull
