Johnny Cash is the Country God. George Strait may have the most #1 singles, but NONE of them were self-written. But since he lived a country lifestyle, and had a golden voice, I definitely say he is the King of Country!
the guitar hook is from the song "Fire" by Bruce Springsteen(it was a bigger hit for Linda Rhondstat, but the Boss wrote it), this song is great, but i wonder if country radio will play it
He really needs to release this song to the radio soon. Right now most country sucks, most of it is Pop, I mean really. Taylor Swift, COUNTRY?!?! Come on!
@johnowenbeall LOL i swear to u i was thinkin the EXACT same thing... Im sure glad to hear that theres others out there that respect Jamey... Hes just a badass and i love it!
LMAO!!!! Funny,....talkin' about SAVING country music,.....With ROCK guitar,....3 time signatures,....NO fiddle,.....NO steel guitar. Who could dance to this ? At least COUNTRY dance.
well, you know what? i'm one of those people who likes the country music that has been released after 2001 better; the only 3 songs I like that were released before 2001 are "I Wanna Talk About Me" and "How Do You Like Me Now?!" By Toby Keith and "Friends In Low Places" By Garth Brooks.
well country music ever since 2001 has been getting better and better than it was before then, so end of discussion because i'm tired of people criticizing new country; so don't even bother replying to this comment.
@Shawn Gilbride @Shawn Gilbride too bad, I'm replying. All I'm saying is people don't like the new stuff as much as they liked 90s country or red dirt like Reckless Kelly or the original Randy Rogers music because it just doesn't SOUND the same, they liked that steel guitar and fiddle sound you almost don't ever hear anymore, there's just no changing that. Sorry if I made you mad or anything at all
@Shawn Gilbride you must not do much with any of it them, no country person says come at me bro, wait, no one says it anymore, and we've got about 100 head of cattle, and 2 4x4's, just saying 4x4 doesn't prove much, and 23 horses isn't much of a ranch
taylor swift is both a pop artist and a country artist and most country music these days kick ass compared to country from the 50s and the 60s, maybe even the 70s, too so my advise to you is TO GET USED TO IT!
"That song is a little tongue-in-cheek. There was a particular critic who was lumping me in with a new generation, a new breed, and they didn’t like where the music was heading... So, this song was my disagreeing with his inference that we had to make music sound like it was 1974. The evolution of music is good. You pay homage to who got you there, and then you take it somewhere else." - Eric Church theboot.com/eric-church-country-music-jesus-lyrics/
I know country rocks but go listen to the real country, when was the last time you heard a Gary Allan song on the radio other than Every Storm? Most of his good songs are never played on the radio, and Taylor Swift used to be country, like her first 3 songs, but all her shit now, and I mean SHIT, is pop. Go listen to all the good artists they never play on the radio like Randy Rogers Band or Bart Crow Band. Go listen to Reckless Kelly and learn a thing or 2 about REAL good country music.
hey wat is this song talkin about anyway is it talkin bout these ole singers like lady gaga and katy perry that everyones listening to them insteead of country and sayin that he needs a country music jesus to save us from that kind of music opr wat
just leave.. you have no idea what country is.. yea i love the old country but compare him to taylor swift. whos country. i like the country that has been brought back to life like anything from eric. so if u dont like it too bad..
This makes one helluva ringtone! Nothing like hearing Church scream out from anywhere!!!❤🔥🎸❤🔥
Johnny Cash is the Country God. George Strait may have the most #1 singles, but NONE of them were self-written. But since he lived a country lifestyle, and had a golden voice, I definitely say he is the King of Country!

Every song on this cd is my favorite song?
This was the best way to start the concert on the 18th... You should have heard 'em scream, we definitely had the fire on the mountain burnin.
The intro reminded me of Collective Soul's "Where the River Flows" but this was AWESOME!!!!
Cody jinks is our country music jesus, and those who that dont know are gonna learn today
the guitar hook is from the song "Fire" by Bruce Springsteen(it was a bigger hit for Linda Rhondstat, but the Boss wrote it), this song is great, but i wonder if country radio will play it
@cdavis881 Church is the natural evolution of country. A perfect mix of today's music and country.
AMEN!!!!!! So true : )
He really needs to release this song to the radio soon. Right now most country sucks, most of it is Pop, I mean really. Taylor Swift, COUNTRY?!?! Come on!
@Shawn Gilbride that's cool but I'M one of those people that thinks some of the newer stuff shouldn't even be played on country radio
pointless argument, listen to the song, enjoy the sweet sound of country music
0 dislikes for a reason.

Toby has been around a while not so sure id call him a new artist
I wasn't trying to say rock was pop I do see how it comes off looking that way
@Shawn Gilbride why, I was having such a wonderful time talking to you!

Rock is not necessarily pop. Plenty of good country incorporates rock elements; it's the mainstream pop-country that needs a Country Music Jesus.
apparently yall got nothing better to do than sit on the computer and argue
Yeah you can't dosey do to this you gotta do some rocknroll style dances
@brachlee14 They are legends absolutely but they don't have 50+ number ones lol so I consider George
well country music ever since 2001 has been getting better and better than it was before then, so end of discussion because i'm tired of people criticizing new country; so don't even bother replying to this comment.
I think he predicted what happened at table rock LoL

shit. good point... without those things lol
whatever, let's end this conversation NOW!
@Shawn Gilbride you must not do much with any of it them, no country person says come at me bro, wait, no one says it anymore, and we've got about 100 head of cattle, and 2 4x4's, just saying 4x4 doesn't prove much, and 23 horses isn't much of a ranch
a perfect mix? Its rocknroll with a banjo Wheres the fiddle or steel or double bass
taylor swift is both a pop artist and a country artist and most country music these days kick ass compared to country from the 50s and the 60s, maybe even the 70s, too so my advise to you is TO GET USED TO IT!
Just an overall FYI: This song is a sarcastic response to an article. He's not serious.
***** Were that true, that he takes everything seriously, I'd feel sorry for him.

@Shawn Gilbride obviously you're from the city and have absolutely no clue what good real country is so I'm not even gonna try to explain it to you

True pop is not a genre at all .
Eric Church is not real country.
This song is so wrong. If your a real christian then you know that country music isn't Godly. And there's only one bible. KJV
Amen
