My theory: Gat fights back all of the MorningStar attacking him, The gunshots were Philippe shooting his own man that was used as a human shield and then Gat smashes the man into the intercom making Shaundi think he was dead, Now I believe that after that Zinyak abducts him after seeing how powerful he is and replaces the man he killed with an alien that has shape shifted to portray that man you throw a parachute at.
Personally I always thought that this never should have been a trailer, gats return would have been a lot more impactful if it came out of nowhere like the ending of saints row 1.

What I've thought for a long time is something once brought to my attention. Perhaps Gat saw an opportunity in the plane to act like he was dead because he hated the sell out direction the Saints took. So he thought the best way to handle things without making them think he was betraying them was to act like he died. That way he could be by himself for a while without any worries and and just think things over.

3:05 Professor Genki's wasn't Gat's simulation, that was Gat's loyalty mission and the reason that the Boss wasn't surprised about Gat's return is because that Kenzie mentioned about Gat being in Zin ship. Gat's got superpowers is because if you do his loyalty mission, he can get it. And the robot is not his homie. And you're right, Gat was kidnapped by Zinyak and it was a flashback. And Gat beating the shit out of Loren, was not his simulation, it was his loyalty mission also.

I knew Gat never died, i went off the act that 1: we didn't see a body, 2: they wouldn't kill off one of their main characters from another game in the first mission. Also the guy forgot to say how after they hear a gunshot, the syndicate boss gets near the com and speaks, where was johny then? How did that boss survive? Do i need to replay the third again? Of course, after i saw zombie Gat, i was pretty convince that was him and he had died, of course the zombie gat might have been an "out of story, in game" type thing, as in he doesn't really affect, or even exist in the story where the other characters would interact with him, but he is IN the game. He grabbed a human shield once he saw the shots then got another guy and threw him into the intercom. After he defeated all the other guys, Zin Yak came and abducted Gat. This was while the guy with pink glasses was unconscious. After you got out and went back in the plane, the guy regained consciousness.
I did the mission. Gat used the pink glasses guy as a meat shield. There might be two or even more pink glasses people. It can't be only one. I hope this helped, Flippy

they have revealed that completing homie loyalty missions gives them superpowers, so that they may better keep up with the player. that explains why gat has super powers, the player has done his loyalty mission by that point

Gat survived the crash then was abducted by the Zin. Through whatever means (most likely the simulation), the Zin gained knowledge of the Saints and the planet, which allowed them to plan their invasion.
What i think happened was Gat was fighting the Morningstar and that's why you hear the struggle then Morningstar backup came in and shot the intercom and since the intercom was broke he went ahead and bashed that guy's head in after the boss throws the parachute at him.Then Gat found out that you left so then after you land in Steelport Gat rides the plane back to Stillwater to make sure all of the saints are still there then takes over the saints in Stillwater.
I never believed Johnny was dead in the Third until the credits were rolling. Literally the entire time I was expecting him to pop out at a climax, some outrageously large weapon in his hand, say something awesome, and blow your remaining enemies to Stillwater.
I have a plausible theory on Zombie Gat! Phillip stabbed Johnny in the plane (in front of our eyes, as he was stabbed in the stomach when he untied himself). Realizing an army of Gats would be a nightmare to adversaries, Phillip had the blood sample spliced & a gat clone was made, perhaps after his death. If it was, it would only make sense the morning star would move their experiment somewhere that the boss didn't know of, like the power plant on zombie island, so he was infected. Clone zombie.

I think Gat started off in the cockpit and tried to fly the plane but then Loren sends his goons to fight Gat. Gat then fights off all of Loren's goons during the intercom bit. Then the intercom get's shot and Gat doesn't. The guy with pink glasses wasn't casually sitting down but instead he was taking cover and getting ready to fight Gat but as he was about to fight him the boss comes in and throws the parachute at him.
They originally didnt plan on bringing back gat but the consumer response to the death of everyones favorite badass made them reinstate the gteatest badass on videogame history. Gat survived the attack but was abducted by zinyak because he posed a major threat to the upcoming invasion

So maybe if the plain did crash, it must have landed either far from Steel Port in the ocean, or the plane was about to crash but someone redirected the plane from crashing and it kept on going. Then, the aliens must have took hold of the remaining people on the plane. Or, there was an alien on the plane in a secured box, and the other aliens tried finding their pal and found him on the same plane Gat was in. There are so many possibilities for what ever happened to Gat.
One thing people have to keep in mind is after the whole airplane bit Loren did a video call with Matt Miller and Killbane so Johnny would've had to have escaped the plane already.
First off before I begin my theory I would like to state Gat has already been confirmed dead. My theory is, yes Gat died, the Gat in the trailer is just a clone made by either the Saints, to keep him going, or the Zinyak for some reason. The super power parts have me believe it is a created character, the player, thus he isn't wearing the jacket. I feel clone Gat's simulation of fear is his death, and he conquers it by not dying within it. Though the real one does.

Actually, this "Unique" knife attack that Johnny uses a few times in the trailer, is a recycled animation. I started a new game of Saints Row; The Third, and during the final parts of the first mission, the stillwater bank heist, I witnessed Gat do the same exact execution-style knife kill to one of the Riot shield SWAT team members, right before the attack helicopter showed up.

about what happen on the plane, I think they tried to make sense of the situation because they had no plans of really brining him back, but since they got a lot of complaints from fans of Gat they decided to bring him back and do the best they can to make sense.

Finally a conclusion to the gat issue. The whole SR:TT I was expecting Gat to return, but instead you unlock Zombie Gat after the last mission -.- Even though that was one of the things that ruined the SR:TT storyline, it would be good if they atleast now give us a conclusion. Did Johnny Die and the Aliens cloned him? Did he survive but just didn't meet up with you until SR:TT is over? Anyway I just hope it feels like a new game, not like an Addon...
You do realize that the plane never crashed? All of that stuff fell out of the sky (cargo), and people got hurt, but as soon as you land, the lady says over the news that "No debris has been found" or something like that. People always assume that Gat is dead, but the plane never crashed-the cargo fell out, but it never crashed, so he is obviously still alive according to this trailer. Damaged perhaps, but not dead. And then the Aliens could've taken him and waited till Saints Row 4.

Actually what really happened in the plane is he died. Volition even said the original cutscene showed Gat getting stabbed and shot many times. I think Volition only brought him back because fans kept on asking.
I reckon the Aliens had been studying earth for some time so Gat was either abducted by the aliens for questioning and such during the Plane fight OR they picked up his body afterwards and cloned/healed it before questioning him like before..

If you meant to spell "dead", I think it was theorized in game that he was dead after his sentence got cut off by bullets then the speakers shut off which led the characters and the viewers to believe that he was dead.
My theories are that Gat actually had some sort of access to time travel, was cloned by someone in or affiliated with Morningstar who is somehow related to the alien invasion, or maybe Deep Silver is just going to go balls to the wall and reveal that Gat is actually a God. Let's face it, each of them are just as likely because as of The Third it's been bonkers. Hell, maybe he just survived because he's pure badass. But regardless, who cares /why/ he's back? Well I have a idea for this, maybe Gat did die but remember to one of the dlc's in saint rows 3, where the geek managed to grab some of Gat's DNA and recreate him as a giant like oleg, maybe the alien race manage to obtain said DNA and recreated Gat as his orginal self since they have advance technology. Also look at the scene where Gat puts on his glasses you can clearly see his inner organs like his lungs. Which would help the theory of him being a more well deveolped clone

It's confusing to me too, because going back to sr3 when Shaundi and the boss are at the speaker contacting Gat, there's struggling on the other end before Gat is cutt off by gunfire, leading to "cold fact" he was killed. But after the first skydiving deal,....on to shooting the windshield out the plane, I forgot about the pink sunglasses dude,...until he reoccurred on sr4 when Gat was beating him up. Idk..

What i think happened was Gat was fighting the Morningstar and that's why you hear the struggle then Morningstar backup came in and shot the intercom and since the intercom was broke he went ahead and bashed that guy's head in after the boss throws the parachute at him.Then Gat found out that you left so then after you land in Steelport Gat rides the plane back to Stillwater to make sure all of the saints are still there then takes over the saints in Stillwater.

I never believed Johnny was dead in the Third until the credits were rolling. Literally the entire time I was expecting him to pop out at a climax, some outrageously large weapon in his hand, say something awesome, and blow your remaining enemies to Stillwater.
I have a plausible theory on Zombie Gat! Phillip stabbed Johnny in the plane (in front of our eyes, as he was stabbed in the stomach when he untied himself). Realizing an army of Gats would be a nightmare to adversaries, Phillip had the blood sample spliced & a gat clone was made, perhaps after his death. If it was, it would only make sense the morning star would move their experiment somewhere that the boss didn't know of, like the power plant on zombie island, so he was infected. Clone zombie.

I think Gat started off in the cockpit and tried to fly the plane but then Loren sends his goons to fight Gat. Gat then fights off all of Loren's goons during the intercom bit. Then the intercom get's shot and Gat doesn't. The guy with pink glasses wasn't casually sitting down but instead he was taking cover and getting ready to fight Gat but as he was about to fight him the boss comes in and throws the parachute at him.
Gat is just a badass and can survive basically anything
They originally didnt plan on bringing back gat but the consumer response to the death of everyones favorite badass made them reinstate the gteatest badass on videogame history. Gat survived the attack but was abducted by zinyak because he posed a major threat to the upcoming invasion

So maybe if the plain did crash, it must have landed either far from Steel Port in the ocean, or the plane was about to crash but someone redirected the plane from crashing and it kept on going. Then, the aliens must have took hold of the remaining people on the plane. Or, there was an alien on the plane in a secured box, and the other aliens tried finding their pal and found him on the same plane Gat was in. There are so many possibilities for what ever happened to Gat.

One thing people have to keep in mind is after the whole airplane bit Loren did a video call with Matt Miller and Killbane so Johnny would've had to have escaped the plane already.
First off before I begin my theory I would like to state Gat has already been confirmed dead. My theory is, yes Gat died, the Gat in the trailer is just a clone made by either the Saints, to keep him going, or the Zinyak for some reason. The super power parts have me believe it is a created character, the player, thus he isn't wearing the jacket. I feel clone Gat's simulation of fear is his death, and he conquers it by not dying within it. Though the real one does.

Actually, this "Unique" knife attack that Johnny uses a few times in the trailer, is a recycled animation. I started a new game of Saints Row; The Third, and during the final parts of the first mission, the stillwater bank heist, I witnessed Gat do the same exact execution-style knife kill to one of the Riot shield SWAT team members, right before the attack helicopter showed up.

about what happen on the plane, I think they tried to make sense of the situation because they had no plans of really brining him back, but since they got a lot of complaints from fans of Gat they decided to bring him back and do the best they can to make sense.

Even though that was one of the things that ruined the SR:TT storyline, it would be good if they atleast now give us a conclusion. Did Johnny Die and the Aliens cloned him? Did he survive but just didn't meet up with you until SR:TT is over?

You do realize that the plane never crashed? All of that stuff fell out of the sky (cargo), and people got hurt, but as soon as you land, the lady says over the news that "No debris has been found" or something like that. People always assume that Gat is dead, but the plane never crashed-the cargo fell out, but it never crashed, so he is obviously still alive according to this trailer. Damaged perhaps, but not dead. And then the Aliens could've taken him and waited till Saints Row 4.

Actually what really happened in the plane is he died. Volition even said the original cutscene showed Gat getting stabbed and shot many times. I think Volition only brought him back because fans kept on asking.
I reckon the Aliens had been studying earth for some time so Gat was either abducted by the aliens for questioning and such during the Plane fight OR they picked up his body afterwards and cloned/healed it before questioning him like before..

If you meant to spell "dead", I think it was theorized in game that he was dead after his sentence got cut off by bullets then the speakers shut off which led the characters and the viewers to believe that he was dead.

My theories are that Gat actually had some sort of access to time travel, was cloned by someone in or affiliated with Morningstar who is somehow related to the alien invasion, or maybe Deep Silver is just going to go balls to the wall and reveal that Gat is actually a God. Let's face it, each of them are just as likely because as of The Third it's been bonkers. Hell, maybe he just survived because he's pure badass.

Well I have a idea for this, maybe Gat did die but remember to one of the dlc's in saint rows 3, where the geek managed to grab some of Gat's DNA and recreate him as a giant like oleg, maybe the alien race manage to obtain said DNA and recreated Gat as his orginal self since they have advance technology. Also look at the scene where Gat puts on his glasses you can clearly see his inner organs like his lungs. Which would help the theory of him being a more well deveolped clone
Not that I'm complaining about his return, but how the fuck can he be back?! Volition confirmed they killed him off in the Third, So, what, the Zin made some sort of time travel machine and some how the Saints managed to change the past to save him??? My head hurts just thinking about it!

What happens is that gat got abducted by zinyak ages before his attack because ziinyak thought he could stop him by hiself so gat never died
It's confusing to me too, because going back to sr3 when Shaundi and the boss are at the speaker contacting Gat, there's struggling on the other end before Gat is cutt off by gunfire, leading to "cold fact" he was killed. But after the first skydiving deal,....on to shooting the windshield out the plane, I forgot about the pink sunglasses dude,...until he reoccurred on sr4 when Gat was beating him up. Idk..
