3% and my STR is $35%. My impressions average is 2040.58/day. AOV (Average Order Value)= $18.24/item. Which is down from an ALV (Average Listing Value) of $18.44/item. My CTR was 5% for the longest time and now it's down but my STR is way up. I'm not sure what I changed to make that happen but I want to get my CTR up without having to drop the STR.

I have found that when people ask how much is the lowest you can take, it's generally so they don't low ball you on accident. I had someone on a 40 item ask that and I responded nicely like you, and she offered a few dollars above the lowest. She didn't even want to get the lowest she could, she just truly didn't want to come off insulting when she made an offer!
Wow, that's why I always try to give people the benefit of a doubt! Some people are actually just rude, but a lot of others are just new to apps or just aware that can turn some sellers off. Great story.
@@Chicago48 no smart pricing is what Mercari slowly reduces your item to. So say I post my item for $100, I set smart price to $55 because that's as low as I am willing to go. every now and then when it's not getting as many views they reduce it a few dollars (I want to say 5%? or 10%? I'll look it up!) and refresh it. So it's like you go press promote basically. Offers are always capped at 20% under the current listing price. So if it's reduced it to $89, the lowest it will let them make an offer for (with the make an offer button) is $71-$72 (I can't remember off the top of my head if they round up or down), even though my smart pricing is still set to $55. I like to offer free shipping and set my smart pricing to the lowest I can accept with free shipping. So let's say I want to get $50 for something, I add on the fees (about $6-$7 I think? math isn't my strong suit.) and the $6 for shipping (if it's going 1st class) and then add at least 20% for bargaining. So I might post it for $76 with free shipping and set smart price for $63. Once it hits the floor price, I put that buyer will pay for shipping and go from there. FB Marketplace has a "lowest offer you will consider" which I like!!

Especially local to me I get a lot of "I'm a poor single mom/college student/sick person/etc and need you to donate this to me." Ironically I will only ever get that on things I have listed for over $50. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but let them know I am trying to stay home with my five kiddos and have to pay bills, and most people understand but some are super rude. It stinks that the rude ones ruin it for the genuine people out there!

Great 😊 info ! I hate Mercari shipping tiers. Saying that if you don’t use there shipping Mercari DOES NOT pay your state tax’s . Says in the help rules thing! I am not getting caught up in paying tax’s myself to other states. That being said things under a pound only go on Mercari ❣️

Hi i realize that in Mercari people like your staff but you never understand why they are not willing to pay $99 or $100 for a legitimate NIKE shoes, that when I bought them they are already expensive, because NIKE is NIKE and is expensive every where, so Mercari charge me from $17 to $20 to sell ONE pair of tennis shoes (unbilivabl) so plus all the fees, sometimes it’s not that we don’t give discounts is just that we don’t lose money. Regarding what you do buying use staff, I didn’t have lock with that i’m stuck with 3 pair of use shoes, the bad thing about second hand store that you cannot return staff, so unless you have a garage or a big house you can buy a lot of staff, but when you live in a small place it’s hard. I know as a buyer I have looked for free shipping so there have to be other people out there doing it! Something just makes it easier in my mind to have one price instead of the item price plus shipping!
All things - everytime I did free shipping I lost BIG time. I figure if the buyer really wants the product they will pay for shipping. If you visit Walmart, if you visit JCP, all those sites, they charge shipping. And it's free ship if over $XX. So even the big boys are not offering free shipping unless you buy over a certain price. I don't think ecommerce sales is about cost anymore. It's about convenience. It's like Instacart, etc. If you want someone to shop for you and deliver, you have to pay extra. Ecommerce is about convenience these days, vs. price. That's IMO.
I lost money early on offering free shipping. If the customer disputes an item and request their money back, you do not get reimbursed for shipping already paid. I'll drop the price before removing shipping.

This is how offers work, not what is your lowest you will take make and offer see were it goes. As resellers we all have a number we will sell an item for on each platform. Yes, each platform, because each platform takes a different commission amount therefore cutting into your profits differently from one to another.

The new fees are not my favorite but it’s still less than Poshmark! I plan to continue offering free shipping for clothes because most of it ends up being just $2.75-$5.00 when I use pirate ship and I can only use that service if I offer free shipping. I get to keep more money and my buyers pay less so it’s a win-win. I just price my items about 5 dollars higher than I might if I wasn’t paying shipping. I have started experimenting with not offering free shipping on shoes. I’ve still made some sales, so I might look into not doing free shipping for shoes!

I believe you can only see it on a desktop/laptop. When you sign into mercari on a computer click your profile pic/icon at the top right of the page. In the drop down menu it’s the third option, “seller dashboard” and it will take you right to it! The seller insights are on that page as well.
Hi, so unfortunately at this point Mercari doesn’t have a bundle feature. To bundle you would need to create a new listing that includes all of the items your buyer is interested in. Keep in mind that if you sell a big bundle the shipping costs will be higher because mercari doesn’t have that flat rate for up to five pounds like Poshmark.

New to selling... curious how to determine the shipping cost to put on a new listing. Isn't shipping cost determined by zip code (varies if across the county vs to the state next door), so when you do a new listing, obviously the eventual buyer's zip code isn't information you have. Thank you for sharing insight!
If you're using mercari shipping it will be a flat rate depending on the weight and size of your item. The only time the zip code would come in to play is in you used pirate ship. In that case you might want to give yourself an extra dollar or two wiggle room when it comes to shipping the item.
With all the sales you have, how many times have people tried to scam you? I put up my first item and 2 people automatically tried to scam me by saying I need a “my vanilla prepaid gift card” and attach it. Any thoughts?
Very few. I’m guessing they are targeting you because you are a new seller. Just ignore or block and wait for real customers. Most of the time people just send an offer, if they say anything else especially about off the app activity they are probably a scammer. I had the same thing happen to me when I started eBay.

So I checked everything and it was all good and I was communicating with them and they sent me an addy to email “Mercari” and I get a long email back answering me. It was quite thought out! Oh no! You definitely have to hit the “ship on your own” button. I’ve accidentally done that before too. If you don’t print the label and ship on your own you may not get paid at all if the buyer doesn’t mark received. The only way to change it would be to cancel the sale. I would consider how much money you would save by shipping on your own. If it’s only a few bucks you may just want to eat the extra mercari shipping costs on this one.
Two questions: When you offer free shipping you just up to buy price to cover shipping, correct? And When you update a listing that brings your post to the top as well, is that correct? Thanks!
You can ship on your own with Mercari. You access that option if you provide free shipping. You do lose shipping protection through Mercari, so you have to consider what is best for whatever you may be selling.
Terrible advice on the free ship. Totally unecessary and to add that to the charged sellers already pay is ridiculous. My CTR is higher than yours and my profits are higher in the past few months. Don't normalize bad customer behavior and greed. They can and will pay for shipping. You're just lowering the bar further. Price appropriately, hold the line, don't haggle, and respond to any messages with a simple notification that that you dont take offers. Block repeat offenders. There are so many scammy customers on there, and holding the line on reasonable pricing (not getting gouged by ever-decreasing prices and markdowns) and rude behavior by not engaging them weeds out most of the scammers. Anyone asking "how low can you go" is 100x more likely to falsely claim they didn't get the item, to refill it with water and return it, etc.
There's nothing you can do about the poor image quality if using a PC. They look awful. Mercari suggests using your phone to upload images. Shipping rates on this video are way off. It a real game trying to figure the best deal for shipping, If you give "free shipping", you'll need to charge the customer more because you'll also have to cover Mercari's cut for the extra you must charge to cover your shipping costs. No Media Mail option with Mercari which is a real pain. Come to youtube for support. Don't get caught into a crazy endless loop of ridiculousness with Mercari robots.

Oh no! You definitely have to hit the “ship on your own” button. I’ve accidentally done that before too. If you don’t print the label and ship on your own you may not get paid at all if the buyer doesn’t mark received. The only way to change it would be to cancel the sale. I would consider how much money you would save by shipping on your own. If it’s only a few bucks you may just want to eat the extra mercari shipping costs on this one.

You can ship on your own with Mercari. You access that option if you provide free shipping. You do lose shipping protection through Mercari, so you have to consider what is best for whatever you may be selling.

Terrible advice on the free ship. Totally unecessary and to add that to the charged sellers already pay is ridiculous. My CTR is higher than yours and my profits are higher in the past few months. Don't normalize bad customer behavior and greed. They can and will pay for shipping. You're just lowering the bar further. Price appropriately, hold the line, don't haggle, and respond to any messages with a simple notification that that you dont take offers. Block repeat offenders. There are so many scammy customers on there, and holding the line on reasonable pricing (not getting gouged by ever-decreasing prices and markdowns) and rude behavior by not engaging them weeds out most of the scammers. Anyone asking "how low can you go" is 100x more likely to falsely claim they didn't get the item, to refill it with water and return it, etc.
There's nothing you can do about the poor image quality if using a PC. They look awful. Mercari suggests using your phone to upload images. Shipping rates on this video are way off. It a real game trying to figure the best deal for shipping, If you give "free shipping", you'll need to charge the customer more because you'll also have to cover Mercari's cut for the extra you must charge to cover your shipping costs. No Media Mail option with Mercari which is a real pain. Come to youtube for support. Don't get caught into a crazy endless loop of ridiculousness with Mercari robots.
