In the comics, Black Noir was a clone of Homelander and was doing all the horrible things while masquerading as him. Eric Kripke chose not to go with that route as he felt that if they're gonna go through the trouble of making Homelander look like a villain, just have him be the actual villain
I think it could've been interesting. Then they could've even had it so that Homelander actually does become a villain because the world and he himself is being fooled into thinking hes done these things.

Homelander is clearly insane; there's no doubt about that. BUT in moments when he is being loved his inner child starts to show and he is simply the best guy to be around. Normally in THIS kind of situation, Ashley would have had her face lasered off; but telling him that his approval rating had gone up and that people LIKED him. He instantly forgave her interruption. See how happy he was??
At the beginning of the show the deep forced starlight to put something in her mouth this comes full circle with homelander forcing the deep to put something in his mouth and swallow
Supersonic, one of the only good supes in the entire show: immediately gets liquefied by Homelander
What sucks is that his powers were sound waves when he claps, so he actually could've stunned Homelander, because all supes have super sensitive hearing

7:57 shows that Butcher let Ryan win at Connect Four. You see him drop a chip in, and then see that yellow chip fall into the bottom corner, so he's obviously playing yellow this game. What you can also see is that red has three chips stacked directly on top of each other. All red needs to win is to drop a fourth red chip on that stack. So in order to prevent that win, all he had to do was drop his yellow chip on top of those three red chips. But he doesn't.

Don't feel bad about your reaction to the Timothy scene. It was supposed to be horrific because Timothy was his friend and was begging for his life and when he realized he was going to die was self aware enough to pray.
It's one step beyond the trope where they make you kill the dog you raised from a puppy because the dog doesn't understand what you're going to do and why so it's meant to hurt Deep more.

In the comics Butcher's dog Terror follows him around everywhere. Its his pet and sidekick kinda, without counting Hughie of course. But Jamie is a regular hamster that Hughie adopts after it crawls out of a supe's corpse, which Hughie kills accidentally (his first kill). He kills him with a punch through the chest, just like the guard in the glorious five year plan episode. Kinda sad that they only get a cameo, it would be adorable to see them with pets.
