I remember these, if when you turned ignition on you didn't hear the brief 'tukatukatuk' sound you know the fuel pump needed a tap with screwdriver. And then when started going wrong too often had to gently file its contact breaker points
Beware that the Hardi and similar Huco pumps come in 2 pressure ratings. The one here under the bonnet is a puller pump and about 1.5psi. If fitting one close to the tank at the rear, Mini for example, you use a pusher pump rated at about 3 psi.
Hi Cloe, Great video always items to shift because they serve you well🛠, and then they say I need to be sifted in a new fuel pump and so you did. Nice work and up to the next maintenance, good luck and wish you & Peggy a great Sunday enjoy🌞👍🏻☮Greetings.Hubertus🙏🏻🇳🇴🇳🇱🤙
I fitted one of these pumps today but it’s causing a leak at the float chamber only thing I did different is I did not add a earth wire the the battery tray is that earth wire really needed
@@stephengorin3059 purely because the original inlet pipe to the pump is metal and original. It never had a filter originally. I've left the original pipe untouched to the pump and added a filter after. Your point of view is valid, I just didn't disturb the original pipework. Many thanks
Nice video 📹 👍
I fitted one of those pumps...it lasted 6 months..Then the Micro contact points inside broke...rebuild the original one id say...👍

Good job, looks like that new pump is a vey good option, being an electronic pump should give you a good service. cheers Bob

I did not say in the video, but I had serviced my carburettor first. I would recommend it. Yes all earth's are good 👍
It’s fixed cleaned the float needle and chamber all fine now

Why put the fuel filter after the fuel pump ???? A nice way to damage the valves inside the fuel pump by haveing the filter after the fuel pump !!
