It really is such a shady and bad move, their audience is mostly young adults/teens who cannot afford that. People feel very betrayed (#parasocial relationship) but they have always seemed very down-to-earth and aware of the cost of even their patreon, this is not necessary. People will not come back to the channel after this. Many people have been talking about how other youtubers have kept up youtube after leaving buzzfeed (eg. Try Guys) and kept up a high standard production (they get paid to eat steaks). The audience is not against them having extra content behind a paywall, but they have gotten caught removing old content from youtube and denying it as well. Overall disappointing

Agree. People will just move on to something else on TH-cam to replace them. Luckily they didn't go through with it.

You're so right. I think them removing old content was such a dick move, basically forcing them to move to their stupid paid subscription.
