Hi Richard. Love watching you videos. Great explanation technical details you put over . I my self own an Audi R8 V8 and a Golf Mk 5 GTI FSI and carry out all the services work . I had to correct and fix a lot of bad workmanship on both cars that the main dealers technicians in the past did not care about there job to carry out a high standard of workmanship on my car .
They take advantage of the customer’s vulnerability of not knowing the technical and mechanical details of there car .
Even with a full service history mainly on my R8 parts were not fitted correctly to the car , the list gos on and same on the GTI .
Customers will pay good money to someone they can trust and do a 110% job on there car . Or even better do it your self and save a fortune on service costs like I have now for 40 years. People like you Richard are a great help to us all and to own a super car you make owning a car like that more affordable on a tight budget. My friend Rob paid £800 to a main dealer only to do a plug an oil change on his R8 V10 spider .,after that he sold the car .
On my V8 R8 oil change and plug change parts come to just under £100 . Easy job to carry out ones you know how to .
I’m lucky I work for a Kubota tractor main dealer in the UK and have all my own tools to carry out all my services work .
Keep going Richard knocking out more great videos on car tech easy to follow etc etc . 🤛👏👍👍😎

Right on Michael for having a R8 V8 and a MK5 GTI! You are totally right! It is so hard to find a good mechanic that you can trust. At least if parts are fitted wrong to our cars incorrectly when we are doing it ourselves, we know who to blame! Haha!
I am so very happy that I can demystify supercar ownership for you and give you permission to treat your r8 like any other car. Pull the motor, do your own clutch, change the shocks, and everything in between! This platform with both the Gallardo and R8 is a beautiful piece of automotive engineering.
I've been toying with the idea of picking up an R8 V8 6MT as the next project motor pull instructional car. It seems that it would definitely help you keep your R8 on the road and enjoy every second of ownership with your wonderful Supercar!
      Thanks for reaching out!

Some ideas for future videos. Not sure where to ask this.1.) Do we need to tighten the bolts of the chassis and where? Which bolts? 2.) cause of whining from the engine area. Alternator pulley or belt tensioner pulley, etc? Keep up the great work thanks 🙏🏻!

    • @TheBullRider
      @TheBullRider  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Brian, you are totally right!! I forgot to include the part that shows where you bolt the motor to the motor mounts on the chassis. I did show how to align them but I didn't show how to fasten them. My apologies! Lambo doesn't provide a torque spec for these either.
I did show how to fasten the transmission to the transmission mounts however and they are very similar in design.
If you are pulling your motor and need this info, shoot me an email at lambobullrider@gmail.com and I will take pics of the underside of my car to show you where they are at.
As for your whining from the engine bay, is it at startup when the engine is cold or is it continual? Is it when your car is moving or just idling? Is it squealing or what does it sound like? Haha

Since this car doesn't have MAFs either, we can oil them without any concern from sensor contamination. I will look into the sprint filter, that is a brand I haven't heard of yet. You probably relate to this but I was one of those kids that could tell you everything about the next best supercar without even seeing it. What's funny is that I knew so much about this damn car from looking at them for years, when I picked this one up it seemed like meeting an old friend. Hehe.
      Do you have a Gallardo?

Bob, glad you liked the video. I actually pulled about a pound of dirt out of the engine bay. I wish I could have cleaned it more but my driveway was too steep. I probably couldn't get the car back in LOL. Next time!
