- Small man, much chaos! Let's have a look at the changes Napoleon brought to the European continent and specifically at the developments he triggered in the former Holy Roman Empire.
I hope you like this exploration of history! I noticed I forgot to mention the disappearance of Poland on the last map which wasn't intentional - I got a little carried away with the other topics...
As always, this video is soft spoken and contains educational content on history to help you relax and sleep. The book is called "Die Napoleonischen Kriege", by Gunther Rothenberg.

Fun fact: Napoleon was actually average height (avrage height in the 1800 was 167 cm and napoleon was 1,68 so he was above average)

@@ThePieIsNotALie Add the height of the hats too, they probably looked close to 6'6" tall. I'm not sure about 6', it was more like 5'8" which was well above average for the time.

Oh man we had a very soft spoken history teacher who went through all of history in the same chill manner. They were great lessons for a bit of relaxation inbetween, but I never felt like I learned all that much haha.

Hey, thank you so much for the kind words! Yeah, I didn't feel like that was very relaxing info haha. Obviously history is not all sunshine and rainbows, but for the sake of ASMR, I feel it's appropriate to make some editorial decisions. Though of course, that's mostly my sensitivities and everyone's line will be a little different.
Really interesting, perhaps you could do a follow up as to how the modern Austrian state came into being.

A few years before, Corsica was genoese. In fact the Republic of Genoa gave the Island to French because they couldn't pay for the help of french to win against the corsican revolt. How could history change if Corsica remain under Genoa? Maybe a genoese Napoleon would unificate Italy under him?

I hate him. He had an enormous amount of works of art and artifacts of all kinds stolen in Italy, some of which have not even been returned.
