Maybe because it is just one of her vault tracks but still... for me, it's the best song from 1989 (with great lines, beat, production) but it's just not getting the appreciation it deserves which is tragic! 😩
Wonderland is my favorite T Swift song of all time... it's a lyrical masterpiece, and deserves more appreciation and recognition among swifties.... Idk why but I always feel she tries to neglect this song for some unknown reason, making it even more obscure

Disagree on “Afterglow” being the most underrated song on Lover though. Pretty sure the most underrated song is “It’s Nice To Have A Friend”. It’s such a sweet song but I’ve rarely seen anyone talk about it. “Afterglow” on the other hand gets brought up all the time.

To be fair “so it goes” live version is ten thousand times better than the studio version. That’s the only issue with the song. And I didn’t know this was a thing but “right where you left me” is pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Agree about So It Goes. I hope Taylor would re-record So It Goes and DWOHT like the live versions. They are superior. The same thing with Cornelia Street and DBTC. I tried listening to the album version multiple times, can't stand it.
@@lovemax18 There’s the Paris live version of Cornelia St and DBATC and tbh… they are both better than the studio version. This is the thing about Taylor’s music. 90% of the time the reason you might not like a song of hers is because of the way it’s been produced. Her and a guitar with a mic is all we need most times anyway :)

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree! I know places was always my favorite on 1989, because of the imaginative lyrics and the inclusion of Ryan Tedder’s vocals. Stories can be inspired by so many things, and if it weren’t for this song, I never would have created the main character of my comic series I’m working on. Can’t wait for Taylor’s version

most underrated in speak now is "last kiss". It's so gut wrenchingly sad but beautiful.

“Safe and Sound” with The Civil Wars is one of her most beautiful songs. It was overshadowed by “Eyes Open” on “The Hunger Games” soundtrack.
I don’t know that it was overshadowed by Eyes Open when Safe and Sound was the one to get a music video, appears first in the credits of the movie and seems (to me) to be better remembered when it comes to fans of the movie. In my experience, people don’t even seem to remember that Taylor Swift has two songs on the THG soundtrack bc they just remember Safe and Sound

I love Speak Now as a whole album and agree with Haunted. There was something about her performing it live that made it epic.
From reputation I think I did something bad should have been more out there, same with Daylight from Lover.

Last Kiss is my FAVOURITE Taylor Swift song. Whenever I tell other fans this there reaction is always one of surprise. I’ve probably heard the song over 1,000 times but every time I’m still sitting on the floor with her.

I've never noticed the meaning of «epiphany», but now this song is my favorite of the album. I'm a healthcare worker in a COVID hospital. "Someone's daughter someone's mother" is a heartbreaking line because we deal with death every day and I can't help getting frustrated.

I feel like in Lover, "Afterglow" isn't that underrated but "The Archer", "It's Nice To Have A Friend", "Soon You'll Get Better" and "Daylight" are the underrated ones. No one EVER pays attention to "Soon You'll Get Better" and that really bothers me cuz its one of my favs

Thank you for mentioning epiphany! In my opinion, it's one of her most underrated tracks EVER. I've heard a few people call it boring but I can't imagine why. It's so hauntingly breathtaking and has one of the most important messages on the album. It deserves more acclaim.
I personally think "ours" is THE most underrated song ever, though "huanted" is a perfect choice for this list too

Having parents who are growing older and have had health issues both Epiphany and Soon You'll Get Better have really been there for me. Seven and Epiphany have always been my favourites on Folklore. Also 'It's Time To Go' is it on Evermore for me. I don't get along with my sister and I really relate to those lyrics.

I just wanna say that lover ( the album ) is such a gem and is so slept on and I know the people who will say it's good but not as good as the others well no it's as good if not better , her voice just matured so much during that phase and the songs were so delicate and beautiful

I’m finding that I’m enjoying songs I didn’t before that have been re released. Maybe it’s production. Maybe it’s her voice. I’ve been a fan since the OG Fearless and it’s been so fun rediscovering her old songs.

The Last Time is one of my favorite songs in general, I definitely think its underrated!!! I mean the fact that Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol is in it should mean automatic star quality. And the lyrics are gorgeous, but that's a normal for Taylor, and the harmonies, the echo, it's all underappreciated!

Also Afterglow and Wonderland are very popular between Swifties.
The Moment I Knew got soooo overshadowed by All Too Well. And it’s such a storytelling masterpiece and heartbreaking tale.

These list are always so tough. You can ask 100 Swifties the question and get 100 different songs. That is one of the things I love about her music. Everyone can find a song that resonates with them in some way. IMO Get Away Car, Enchanted, & Haunted are the songs that would have been incredible singles and OMG the music videos would have been so so so good!

It's hard to pick out which song is underrated because almost every song by Taylor is brilliant but Enchanted is her most underrated song. I still can't believe we didn't get a video of it.

As a fan, I think every song that aren't hits, fan-favorites, or popular among swifties are automatically underappreciated. Taylor's hit pop songs overshadows the rest of her discography because those songs shows her songwriting and vocal skills. But... I kinda blame her for choosing the wrong songs to be promoted 😌
She got a reputation of only singing about 'high school teen boys' and 'breakups' when it's actually not true.
If you ask someone who isn't a fan to name a TS song about politics, murder, war, health workers, infidelity, mental illness, defamation, sensual tension, domestic abuse, friendship betrayal, situationship, repentance, and ect. they wouldn't know

It's such an impossible task to list all of her "most underrated". Taylor has such a huge discography of well-written, inciteful, catchy and pleasingly melodic songs that a majority of the deep cuts are sadly, underrated. But, never underappreciated by her true fans. So many hidden gems are buried beneath the gleaming diamonds of her many commercial hits. She's one of the most prolific artists of all time. Easily...of all time.
I won't say I'm a hardcore T.S fan, but I've listen to quite a lot of her work. Knowing that she released "folklore" and "evermore" back to back, I asked myself to download each and every album she's released before, leading up to said albums. I gave each song a listen, and there were some that stuck in my head despite me now knowing which songs they were. Looking back, they are "Haunted", "The Moment I Knew", "Forever and Always", "No Body No Crime". I was more familiar with her 1989 album, and I personally think the album is really well done. My favorite song from "reputation" would be "I Did Something Bad", where I can always imagine her dancing on a beach with torches lighting an otherwise dark setting, dressed in all black in regards to how she described herself as a witch in the song and they were going to burn her at stake. It sends me shivers down my spine whenever that image appears in my head, and I was sad to know that they didn't release it as an official single. I also really love "It's Nice to Have a Friend" from "Lover" as well. There is just something so catchy about the simplicity of the song, and the almost repetitive way she sung the entire song that captivated me as a listener. I read somewhere before that when "folklore" was released, people were commenting something along the lines of "If you loved folklore as an album then you would've loved its prequel, 'It's Nice to Have a Friend', the song that people hated when it was released because it was so different from 'mainstream TS' music."
A majority of my favorites are underrated. Most of her popular hits are ones I don't even listen to anymore because they were overplayed or just got on my nerves after a certain point. I was surprised when I actually heard Ivy on the radio because it didn't have the typical pop sound that her other radio hits had, which is why I love the song.
Her 75% of discography is unappreciated and underrated!
