Oh man. Hey happy birthday, American brother. 🎉 remember the 2 happiest days in your life... the day you buy a boat, and the day you sell it. Best wishes to you all from Brisbane Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
Shoot Happy Birthday cheers to another. Just thought id let ya know about some of my recent snags. 85' 7.5 merc short shaft for 75$ 83' 7.5 johnson long shaft 75$. 9.9 short shaft johnson 9.9 120$. All of which have minimal hours original cowling seals are MINT! Your boat floor looks impeccable, I know you made a video on it. When I have to do mine I think I will opt for your method. My StarCraft has that same stern light and housing by the way. Always something ain't it.. great grandparents lived in DeLand
Starter / frame not grounded. I think the mating surface between starter and case is not good. Try putting a jumper cable between the negative battery post and the starter casing. (I just used a set of jumper cables from my truck) I had this issue with a riding mower.
Happy birthday buddy. I kniw you hate moving but you gotta make us a video of "The Beast"! Man I like that thing. Can't wait to see your river fishing adventures!
🎉Happy Birthday to you🎉Happy Birthday to you🎉Happy Birthday dear "This Old Outboard"🎉Happy Birthday to you🎉 Here's to many more to come. Love ya dude❤❤
Can’t wait to see the new fishing spots at the new place. I think you’re going to enjoy it a lot better and the new covered boat dock is going to be nice. Wish I could help with the move. 🎉🙏
if it were easy everyone could do it my friend. wish you the best for your birthday! stay safe and cant wait to see a new background in your new location.
How are you doing with this change and how much of a pain the ass is it to run the boats compared to before..always enjoy your clips , friendly and informative!
First one here. Happy early Birthday brother. Wish I could be there to help ya and celebrate with ya. Keep up the great content. And im sure ur going to miss that place and we will sure miss it as well. It's very sad but sometime that's how life is. But we stay positive and keep moving forward u know. Anyways im not going to bore ya. If I lived closer I would help u out with alot of stuff u got going on with the move and what not. Much love to ya brother from Maryland❤❤❤.
It’s the cadutter valve LOL you can only put it on with a left handed screwdriver I told a young man that in the 1970s he actually went to a dealer and said that to them talk about laughing their asses off great job see you in the next one 👍🏻🤘🏻
Nice work troubleshooting. I'm betting you replace that plug connection when you get time, but glad it was not something that cost you money. You got enough going on with move to have more problems with your motors (outboards, vans, hopefully not RV).
Happy birthday one day early i hope you have a great day i hope you have something fun planned fun to do. It's not a bad starter or the solenoid I would say you either have a bad connection or a bad ground. Cut the ends on that wire and use heatsrink then solder the wires together
check for battery drain remove negative cable from neg batt post take your leads of multi meter one lead on neg post other on neg cable if you get any voltage above 0.25 then, you could start disconnecting connections until you find drain.
Hey Happy Birthday 🎉 !! Love your videos. Boatnet doesnt have service manuals anymore. The site is no longer it seems. Do have another place online to find service manuals? Thanks
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Well I'd go after the charge coil under the flywheel first- Always replace the cheap stuff first! And do what I did here- Check all your grounds! making sure they have good contact- and those wire plugs too! You see what I went through with a bad connection at the wire harness plug--- Also look for an OMC service manual specific to your year/model- It has a great troubleshooting section and will save you time & money! Look on ebay for a good used one. Thanks again & Stay tuned!
I thought you're supposed to entirely remove the "pee stream" restrictor as part of the thermostat spring & waterpump update on this era 60/70s? I know I did this on my '93 when i changed the waterpump and she's pissin' at Flomax levels now.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Did you do that in 93 or when the service bulletin was put out- Did you move the pee hose to the top of the powerhead too- Did you also rejet your carbs to the larger size jet/high speed orifices- Anyway when I got this old outboard a couple years ago or so and found out about the service bulletin, I checked it and everything had been done except moving the indicator hose to the top. Well I figured this things been running for all these years why change it. The alternative to moving the hose to the top was to use a longer hose and route it over the top- that way you knew the water was flowing high, so I did that just as a precaution. This old outboard has never overheated or set off the alarm buzzer. She's just got a little clog- two of my motors clogged at the same time- the 30 horse and the 60- Weird! Thanks again & Stay Tuned!
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Actually on this model there are 2 "sockets" on the block that the plugs coming off the powerpack snap in to- not sure they use the retainers. Anyway, The plug itself wasn't the problem this time like its been the last couple of times. I thought it was crazy that the one end of the starter cable had corroded in such a short time. Never seen that before! Thanks again & Stay Tuned!
Shame your running into issues again. When you tried jumping from the hot supply side of solenoid directly to the starter hot bolt it should have spun it regardless of any switches or bad plug connections if I am not mistaken. No different than taking a wire directly from battery to hot connection on starter, that’s how I have tested starters in the past and just yesterday did that on an old Prestolite starter with jumper cables.Good luck on the move.
neutral safety switch in the box and at the engine......??? also check the plug, you can get voltage showing through and still have nothing when you turn it over is that plug is messed up inside. Bypass it./
Happy Birthday! The last few minutes of your video says it all. When it rains it pours…👍
Hey. Thanks ! And thanks for watching to the end!

Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Wow sounds good on the outboards! Let me know when you start your floor- Thanks again !
Starter / frame not grounded.
I think the mating surface between starter and case is not good.
Try putting a jumper cable between the negative battery post and the starter casing. (I just used a set of jumper cables from my truck) I had this issue with a riding mower.
That’s exactly what I was thinking I would do also with the jumper cables 👍🙏
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!

Love your videos.
Boatnet doesnt have service manuals anymore. The site is no longer it seems.
Do have another place online to find service manuals?
Thanks

Pool started😂
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
I noticed on outboards lot of the small problems on one side😅
Thx!

Voltage is just a measurement, amperage does the work.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
Check main wires for corrosion
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
😎🤓
Thanks !
if all else fails friend, you can easily rope start the engine.
Thanks !
Hope you had a great birthday! Tried to donate but I don’t have PayPal. Do you do Venmo?
Hey. Thanks! That's okay, no I don't have venmo-----Yet! Hahaha- Thanks again !
There is supposed to be a retainer clip on that connctor.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Actually on this model there are 2 "sockets" on the block that the plugs coming off the powerpack snap in to- not sure they use the retainers. Get a shut off switch or disconnect battery every time a less corrosion
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Good Idea!
Hey. Your not mistaken! Crazy stuff! Thanks again !
Oh wait til you see what happens next!
Bad ground or neutral
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
neutral safety switch in the box and at the engine......??? also check the plug, you can get voltage showing through and still have nothing when you turn it over is that plug is messed up inside. Bypass it./
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Yeah I'm gonna hot wire that plug!
It wasn't in park 🤔
Thx!
In gear maybe 😊
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
A lot of times some thing simple
yep!
Hopefully when moving your motorhome runs better than your boat, that would be a disaster in itself for you.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Yes, that would be a disaster!
Happy birthday
Thanks !
