This interview was dope... I definitely wanted to hear his answer to the question right as the show was closing though. "Do you feel a responsibility to let the music age with you?" It's good to hear where artists , who've been great for so long, are at now as they continue to do what they love... and how they feel about the ways the industry has changed over time.
BTW... I literally just saw Ne-Yo live this past Friday, so the timing of this was impeccable to round up that experience. He's definitely a top performer, top writer, and one of the most genuine and good people out of music. It's crazy how similar my life and a lot of my perspectives are to his. He grew up around a lot of women in his family, I also did... and his whole philosophy and ideas about the "now", is something that has been apart of my own for some time. We spend way too much time worrying about things that either happened in the past and we can no longer change... or too far ahead that we don't even know whether or not will happen. All we have is literally, right now... in this moment. I think this is one thing that can and will forever change the human species and a lot of our conditions, mentally. Depression is living in the past. Anxiety is living in the future.

Catalog was widely successful throughout the 2000’s into the 2020’s and the credits he has as a songwriter/producer are phenomenal.
