Only for instruction with an immediate operand we need to specify how many bytes we want to use. If the operand is a register the assembler already knows the size.

sir addresses are kept irrespective of sizes of registers?? for example mov ESI ,offset AX . and we also derefer the AX using that addresses.reason??

offset operator is used with variable /array/string. so why u need offset of AX (which is register)?
