[TAS] Spelunky 2 - Pacifist Chain No% Eggplant Abzu in

- This is a TAS, or tool-assisted speedrun. It was made using tools such as slowdown, frame advance, and savestates, and is not meant to compete with real runs but is solely for entertainment. This category name may not make much sense at first glance, so I will try to make some sense out of it:
Pacifist: Don't kill anything. This game has built in pacifist mechanics so this isn't just some arbitrary restriction the community made up, you can see the pacifist line on the journal at the end of the run.
Chain: You must do the "intended" method of getting to Sunken City instead of doing any funny skips. You are required to pick up the Hedjet/Crown, Ankh, Tablet of Destiny, and bring the Ushabti with Qilin in it to 6-3. The Udjat Eye may optionally be collected.
No%: This is a combination of a couple of things. Firstly, this is a No Gold subcategory, so you are not allowed to pick up any gold at any point during the run. Secondly, this is also a Low% subcategory, meaning you have the resources and health you start with and nothing else. (i.e. no jetpack, no paste, no bomb bags, no extra health, no riding tamed mounts, no shooting shotguns (though holding one is allowed), etc.) Thirdly, you must finish the run with all of your starting resources (end the run with a 4/4/4 resource count). Since this is also a Chain run, swinging the Excalibur is ONLY allowed on the Abzu level, and taking all 4 damage in 1 frame with the Ankh is also allowed.
Eggplant: Go to Eggplant World and collect the Eggplant Crown.
Abzu: You are required to do the chain through the Tide Pool route (you may go to either Volcana or Jungle, whichever one you wish).
It's safe to say that this category will never be done humanly, but it's pretty cool to see what an optimized completion would look like! I had fun making this, and I hope you had fun watching it!

Top level human runners do this in actual runs, and while sometimes this lets them get past lava quickly like it does here, other times they will just die to the lava. its inconsistent for human runs but still used

It's not enough to be pacifist, you must forsake your worldly desires and become a radical vegan next time. That ought to mean no pet ownership too, whether it be a mount or a cat. I suppose you ought to release any turkeys from their captors, and to free that little flying dude while you're at it too!

Pet ownership is probably the most vegan possible thing you can do. Just make sure you adopt from a shelter. You know damn well where those animals are going if you don't. :(

I am very confused at what was used to one hit the shell after the first cracks. First time seeing that strat. Crazy TAS!
i used 20 excalibur swings and 9 whips to get the shell to exactly 1 health. then, by bouncing a pet off the hermit crab poison bubbles, the pet gets enough momentum to be able to hit and kill kingu while im still pacifist! while this strat can be used in real runs, its not super viable but has technically been humanly done a whole 1 time by tvrobot (that run died on 6-2 unfortunately)
kind of insane how 1 or 2 ropes makes the pacifist kingu fight sooo much easier lol

Ummmmm ackshually at exactly 7:26 you can see that the player whipped a firefly and killed it, therefore this run is not a valid pacifist run, L + ratio + I completed this run myself with a broken controller with no attack button on it

Question about the rules: why is it considered No% if you are collecting the udjat eye. If the eye is required for the chain category it would make sense but since you could do the chain without the eye wouldnt you need to skip the eye to be no%?
@seanhurt9631 you can skip the entire chain by doing bubbleskip, where you use bubbles instead of qilin to get to sunken city. as a result, spelunky 2 players decided that for chain low%, you are able to grab every chain item, including the udjat eye (since chain low% is not the lowest percentage to be able to get the sunken city ending anyway)
The udjat eye is not allowed in spekunky hd chain low% due to different circumstances and playerbase
250 hrs on this game and still cant get passed lvl 15 or something. I can't even imagine how many hours you have

how do you go through the lava like that? on volcana with drill
The general idea (I think) is that the drill pushes the lava out of the way briefly so you can dodge the lava if you follow close behind the drill, that and liquids in this game are extremely janky
not exactly sure how it works but all I know is that it does and that is my best guess on why
