I have been slowly learning silversmithing on my own as a hobby for over a year now. I can fabricate some forms and I'm very happy with my progress. Watching your work is quite inspirational, you are an extremely skilled craftsman who really understands his craft. What is most amazing to me is how little you rely on modern methods and do everything from scratch. Thanks for sharing.
Also I use all the techniques that the market makes available to me today, on you tube many people are dealing with the rapid prototyping in 3D, the lost wax pressure relief. They are all useful techniques, but they require demanding initial costs, and I believe that objects made with lost wax casting have durability limits, due to the micro porosity that is formed during the melting phase. However, a craftsman must know all the techniques that are available today, to choose from time to time the one that best suits the market situation and the customer's request.
Geezus, that is insane! That graver work was just incredible, not to mention the rest of the ring. All I could have done is draw the birds with the pen and called it good. =)
I have to add how wonderful to watch a master of his art..creating something beautiful his attention to detail awe inspiring I have enjoyed every second of your video...I found your site whilst trying to find out how a Navajo ring I bought has the designs in colour and found you again ty.
I'm speechless. The engraving is an eye cacher. I love watching you because the camera is so close, we see all the details. It is hypnotizing at a point that I don't see what is going on arrond.
i love your videos! my grandpa is more then 60 years a juvelier and I am. learning for 3 years now keep. the good work I like your ideas learning alot thnk you!
Love seeing the old school techniques with this ring. Outstanding as always!!! I think a variant will be my next project with silver prices tanking now is a good time to play around a bit!
Outrageously beautiful!!!!! Thanks for this video. As others have said, inspired creativity. I love the craft and am eager every day to create new things.
Conversion of silver plate to beautiful ring by magician Scaffoal silver and goldsmith. Another creation from nothing to beautiful ring. Excellent video editing too.
Question? I notice the blade on your jewelers saw seems to be very flexible. The ones I use are not and break very easily. Can you tell me what type they are and where to get them?
Congrats on wonderful job, any idea where to buy k2s and k3s? Question for a jewelery guru : what substance(paint, paste,anything,...) would top professional use to give depth to scrimshawed or engraved BONE surface and what sealer on top, million thanks for any answer or even trying, wish you guys all well
In Italy you can buy in stores that sell drugs or chemicals. In Italian it is called "fegato di zolfo" You can see the description at it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fegato_di_zolfo To highlight engravings on bone, in the eastern countries, they use liquid inks. As the bone is porous the color tends to impregnate the surface. Care should be taken to apply color only within the engravings.
oynx is mu favorite, silver is my choice above gold (platinum my preference, but I sure can't afford that. I love the ring. I was wondering if you were going to line the carved middle of the onyx with silver. that would hab e popped that top of the ring. not knocking it. it is awesome! thanks for allowing me/us to watch you at.your art!!!
that is the most amazing skill you have. that is a beautiful ring!! how did you learn how to do this.? I would love to learn this. How did you get all the tools.? do you sell your rings? do you make custom rings?
For the instruments I have three firms that I need from: Legorgroup, Luigi dal Trozzo, Mario di Maio,. I sell my rings. Yes, I make custom rings. if you are interested you can contact scaffoal@oro-diamanti.it

Hello.thank you for sharing this video ,your work is amazing ,i have a question ,what was the yellow liquid that you used it for both side of this ring with small brush? Thanks
thank you, This stone is cut with very high and smooth edges, to be stopped with metal, I should have kept the ring head too high. The glues we use have a really strong hold often equal to the metal
scaffoal thanks a million. I'm working on setting up my lapidary/ Silversmith work shop now, just missing a rolling mill and engraving block. awesome . I like this beautiful ring . but I want to know what is the name of material used in the end of work like salt ?
To reduce the oxide ring I use baking soda that is slightly abrasive. One can also use pumice powder that is coarser grained and is more abrasive.

My wife and I are really impressed by this work of art. Also what is the name of the song that starts at 06:54 min? Ty for sharing

Hello.thank you for sharing this video ,your work is amazing ,i have a question ,what was the yellow liquid that you used it for both side of this ring with small brush? Thanks
is a mixture of potassium sulphide K2S and potassium polysulfide K2S3,

Wow, that was amazing. Your engraving skills are incredible. One question- I'm curious why did you chose to glue the stone instead of add a bezel?
thank you, This stone is cut with very high and smooth edges, to be stopped with metal, I should have kept the ring head too high. The glues we use have a really strong hold often equal to the metal
What a beautiful ring and tutorial. What gauge/thickness sheet wire did you make for the base of the ring ? It looks really study!
mm 1,80 / 2,00
