Love love love this. My biggest gripe with pure doom, or doom proper, is that so much of it refuses to get out of first gear. The mood and the guitar tone and the heaviness of doom really appeals to me, but I'll be frank, I get bored to tears if the tempo never increases from a dirge. These guys don't fall into that trap. They are so dynamic and they know how and when to switch gears. The music keeps you guessing and succeeds because it uses contrast so well. 4.5 stars - going to rank high come the end of the year for me.
Thanks for bringing these guys to my attention Pete, as always you're spot on with your review. I immediately checked them out and then downloaded both this album and their self-titled debut along with the Spellbound EP, and have to say I am very impressed. I can't get enough of the Stoner/Doom metal genre and these guys are right up there with the best. Ripple Music & Heavy Psych Sounds rule and these guys should be on either one. BTW new Fu Manchu album due in mid-July, awesome. Continued thanks for the great and varied content of your shows.
They are so good! Heavy AF and a great live band. They get a strong response. Agree about the production. And they sound like they look. Go see them and buy their music when they play your town.

Sounds like right up my alley. I did like their last album. I will be checking them out.
They should remain on Ridin' Easy. Moving to a label like Nuclear Blast or Napalm would be a disaster for the music. Exhibit A: Green Lung.
