    Crazy to have to mod a CRT to get into the service menu. Great job!

    Hfq - Horizontal frequency, Vertical hold. Adjust to avoid picture rolling.
    Hph - Horizontal phase, Horizontal position. Higher values move image to the right.
    Ham - Horizontal amplitude, Lower values increase horizontal size
    Vam - Vertical amplitude, Higher values increase vertical size.
    Vsc - Vertical s-correction, expands centre and compresses top and bottom
    Vsh - Vertical shift, Higher values move the image towards bottom of screen.
    Vli - Vertical linearity, compresses top, expands bottom. lower numbers squash the upper half height of the screen
    EWc - East/West corner, shifts the top and bottom horizontally to expand corners. Higher numbers flare the top and bottom L/R corners outwards, lower numbers form a bulge in the middle of L/R sides
    EWp - East/West parabola. To make vertical lines at sides of screen parallel with sides of screen
    EWt - East/West tilt, trapezoid correction. Tilt the picture. Higher numbers tilt the picture clockwise.

    Great video. Very much easier instead of having to take the back off the TV every time!
    I don't know what my software revision is off the top of my head, but I can get into the service menu by pressing Menu on the remote, then 0, 0, Go. I only just found this out funnily enough. Oh, my model is MX8000 so not sure if that makes a difference.

    • @Horeteppe
      @Horeteppe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The service menu, and menus in general actually makes sense on the MX8000, such an improvement! I got lucky and got hold on a MX8000 earlier this year!

      @@Horeteppe yeah I was waiting to find one for ages last year, then one was listed at a good price and happened to be 5 minutes from my house. I'm going to look into the device menu although mine seems to be pretty good so I probably won't mess with it too much!

      @@bobbus_74 You know, there's a SVM-cable on the neckboard that makes the sharpness on this set RAZOR sharp. To be honest, a bit too sharp for my taste. I disconnected this cable, and after I adjusted the screen voltage and focus using the image was more to my taste! Still sharper than my MX7000 sets, and more pleasent to look at. Butt that's my take on it :P

      @@Horeteppe I didn't know that, no. I'm quite new to B&O sets, it's the first one I've ever owned. Thanks for the info, that could come in useful in the future I'm sure!

      @@bobbus_74 Sweet! You might not like it, and some tweaking might be necessary. Just be vary working inside CRT's if you don't have the experience! Just hit me up via the instagram link posted under this video if you have any questions =)

    Needed this! Much appreciated! I'm learning how to go about all this and I've just picked up a mint MX4000 with SW 1.1 ... Once the service menu is up, I take it I can plug in my Mega Drive and adjust accordingly?! 😬

    Hi, this video is really good but could you please share more about the switch button (Voltage needed ? self reset or self lock?). Could you please also share what could be the perfect set up? Thank you :)

    What remote are you using? I got an MX5500 Today and i'd like to tweak the colors, but I don't have the remote and the beo4 is much too expensive. Great video, Cheers!

    Cool video, have you got the TV setup to allow you to tweak service mode settings whilst viewing the console image?

      Hey, thank you! I can only change settings in TV mode I’m afraid and not on the RGB source… unless you know a way around it?

      @@didsomebodysayretro Unless you've found it already, you can set AV2 or AV1 to Decoder instead of V.Tape. This will display the AV signal on any TV channel you choose (have to turn Decoder on for specific channels, doing this is different depending on what remote you have). This means you can change the service menu settings while viewing the game.

    Was rgb more widely used in the uk? I never see it here in the states .

    • @Horeteppe
      @Horeteppe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      RGB SCART was basically standard on consumer TV's in PAL territory. B&O is a Danish company, and I believe that's why these sets are much more available in Europe. I'm not sure they ever retailed over there ?

    • @ThatOneGuyMatt
      @ThatOneGuyMatt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Horeteppe I've never heard of the brand. Doesn't mean they weren't available for commercial use tho like pvm monitors

    • @Horeteppe
      @Horeteppe 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThatOneGuyMatt I don't think they were sold over in the states back then. They are pretty common around here at least. You guys might have missed RGB-scart, but you did get component inputs at least, and HDMI-fitted CRT's also became a standard I reckon. I've rarely seen anything like that over here lol.

    • @bobbus_74
      @bobbus_74 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you guys had S-Video mostly but RGB SCART was the Standard here in the UK from at least 1988 for sure.
