    Finally, somebody who appreciates the book as much as I do and finally somebody who appreciates V.E.Schwab's wonderfully poetical and romantical writing style.

    This is the first review that has really sold me in this book. I wanted to read it anyway, but everyone else's reviews have been a bit lacking. So thanks!

    I’m reading right now in 2022 and I find it hard to put down…I’m loving this story and Schwabs writing style is exquisite to me. Her prose is so beautiful in many places.

    She writes simply beautifully and poetic. I loved Addie La Rue.

    I read this the week it came out! The concept really hooked me, and I enjoyed the writing very much. The last quarter and ending kind of let me down a little, though, if I'm honest. For me--and I think this is a consequence of spending so much time researching epic poetry and the oral tradition--the novel introduced this really fascinating tension between being remembered as an individual vs. having your ideas remembered, which then leads to the question, what does it mean to leave a mark? I felt like that whole thread got dropped in the final quarter, and that left me wanting more, if that makes sense.

    • @ToriMorrow
      @ToriMorrow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ohh I can definitely see what you mean by those questions/ themes sort of dwindling in the final part of the book, but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the writing :D And it does raise so many fascinating questions and themes!

    I was already personally invested in VE Schwab after having read Vicious in one day years ago. Got into the DSOM series but it wasn’t like Vicious. Since I love her I will definitely be picking this up

    I have also only read Vicious by V.e Schwab and really enjoyed it!! Her writing was good, but I'm sure it has evolved a lot since then! I think I'm going to read Vengeful first to see what happened to the characters of Vicious, and then read Addie Larue cause it sounds so amazing and thought-provoking!! 😍

    • @ToriMorrow
      @ToriMorrow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, her prose really shines in Addie LaRue! It's a beautiful read. And I'd love to know what you think of Vengeful! I've always wondered if it was necessary to have a second book because I remember the ending of Vicious was perfect. I hope you enjoy it!

    Do you think i could enjoy this, if i've disliked A Darker Shade, and really, really disliked V.E.Schwabs writing in that series? im intrigued by this book and review, especially since it seems so different from the rest of her stuff... But i really didnt connect with schwab before 😅

    • @ToriMorrow
      @ToriMorrow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm actually not sure I can speak to that, since I haven't read that complete series! Addie LaRue is really prose heavy, though, so I think if you like that kind of flowing writing style, you could enjoy this book 😊
